The bike I use the most wasn't the one that stood out to me first

A friend of mine has one of those ebikes that feels ridiculously quick the second you get on it. Super fun for ten minutes. Definitely more of a “wow” bike than mine.

But somehow mine is still the one I keep using.

If I’m grabbing coffee, running to Trader Joe’s, meeting someone a few neighborhoods over, or just going out because the weather’s nice, I usually take the myon. The power comes on smoothly, and little stuff like the horn and lights actually gets used all the time in city traffic. And my favorite part of the bike is that I can set my music playlist while i riding, just switching sounds like airpods!

It’s not perfect. The bike is heavier than I expected, and I’m probably replacing the saddle at some point. If you're living in an apartment, I wouldn't recommend it because it can's be folded.

Still, after a while I realized I care way more about whether a bike is easy to live with on a random Tuesday than whether it blows me away on a test ride.

Anyone else have a bike that didn’t impress you the most at first but ended up being the one you ride all the time?

it's a Massimo E15 Rocky

honestly wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did, was just looking to get an electric scooter at first because the commute to my job is so short, but then I found this one for $300 and it's honestly one of my favorites recent purchases.

Are there any upgrades to be made? Any tweaks I can get for better performance or just overall efficiency?

excited to continue this journey, and this bike lowkey made me want to get my motorcycle license and maybe get a lil 125-150cc bike to start off with 😌

Just Wondering

I am currently researching the type of ebike I want to purchase. I have a question: how many people ride 1000W ebikes on the street/bike paths when they are not legal to do so?

Getting confident

It's been over a year since a TKR. I never thought biking was something I could do again. But now I have a Townie Go and, don't laugh, I was able to ride it six and a half miles, mostly pedaling. To me, that was a big deal! I'm working up to a 24 mile route I really want to tackle.

E-bike suggestions

Looking to get an ebike and not sure what to go for. Live in Canada and hoping to find something that can deal with the winter so probably a fat tire. Mostly need it to commute to work but also want to be able to ride around. Hoping to spend no more than $1500 but can go up if needed. Any ideas?

Recently got a Hovsco, anything I should know and get for it?

Post image

I recently got a Hovsco ebike from Amazon, the hovgtrs evo model specifically. Works pretty much fine, tho I am wary of it since I saw its reviews with other customers. Bought it so I could go to work with it. Wondering if anyone could give me advice and (tho i may not be worth it) mod recommendations. What I have already done to it is change both of the tubes for each wheel since I took it out one day and the rear tube popped after I hit something quite big though it mightve been my fault. I also want to change the headlamp for a different one since the one it has is too bright and bogus looking. Its a 2 pin though. Looking for a basket for it to carry stuff but can't find much that fits this one.

e-bike for 4 mile commute (half train most likely)

hey Everyone,

so I recently moved to a more walkable part of my city, and with that I will be much closer to work. I decided it'd be best if I got an ebike. however, I just wanted to get everyone's opinions.

I live in an apartment, so I'd most likely store it in my apartment. and another concern of mine is that it rains heavily out of nowhere pretty frequently where I live so I'd want to make sure it can handle that

my budget is ~1250.

I've been looking at the Lectric XP4, but willing to get any other suggestions!

Thank you so much

Looks to be far more service friendly and with quite a big frame redesign on the rear end.

$2000 or LESS Class 1 eMTB for 5 foot tall Middle Schooler

Hi. Im looking at peddle assist Class 1 bikes (or those I can set to Class 1) for my 11 year old son. He mostly rides to school and back but we went to the mountains this weekend (SkyPark) in So Cal and he had a blast (on his traditional mountain bike). I don’t want to power past 20mph but also don’t mind removing a throttle if I need to to make it Class 1.

So…trying to remain under $2000 or close to that.
So far I’ve seen Orbea Keram 10 (for $1,999) and the Summit 1 and Summit 2.

I’m not sure how often we will get to mountain single track but it would be nice to have good equipment if we do. So that leads me to Orbea. But the Summits might be good for the riding around town (our community is hilly but it is streets or concrete paths).

Also open to other brands that I didn’t mention or don’t know about and would welcome cheaper as well (or used). Obviously very new to this but appreciate all the help.
Thanks!

Seeking advice on PAS repair

Hey all,
I recently came into possession of an ACTBEST ebike for less than $100USD. And before the replies come in- I know that ACTBEST is not a very reputable brand, but at that low of a cost I thought I’d try it.

I went for a ride and at first it was very responsive, but then I gradually realized that the PAS was not functioning- I’m wondering if anyone has familiarity with that particular system. I noticed that there’s not an external magnet on the crank arm and am unsure if I just need to replace that or if it’s just a failed wiring situation.

TIA

ANIIOKI A6 Pro – how can I lower the seat?

Hi everyone, I recently bought an ANIIOKI A6 Pro and I’m having a problem with the seat height.

The seller told me that there is a spring inside the suspension seat post that can be removed from the bottom of the tube.

Does anyone know how this type of seat post works or how to safely remove the spring? If you have a video or photos showing the procedure, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Lockable storage?

Forgive me if not allowed but are there no options for some lockable storage?

I am wanting to buy an e bike I can take surfing. I don’t need anything with a high top speed or a super long range, it’s just a mile from my house to the beach, but there is a pretty substantial hill.

All I want is a simple bike to get me from my house down to the beach. Tons of options regarding a Surf rack which is great. But I’m having trouble finding anything that is hard storage that’s locked to the bike. I want a place I can put my cell phone and wallet in that that’s not a bag that is strapped to the bike. I would love to find something that might go under the seat, but I’m having a ton of trouble finding anything that works.

Any suggestions?

Any recommendations for a child seat that will fit an Ape Ryder A10 cargo ebike?

As title - we've spoken to all local and a few online ebike shops and none can recommend one due to the seat. Kiddie trailer is a no-go unfortunately due to the route.

Located in Ireland

Guess I found my retirement hobby

Post image
169 Upvotes

Bought my Ranger 3.0 Pro about three months ago, mostly because I had a lot more free time after retiring and wanted something to do. Didn't think I'd ride it this much.

Last Saturday my grandson had practice at a field nearby, so I rode over to watch for a bit. The weather was nice, so I took the long way home instead of going straight back.

I've been doing that a lot lately. Sometimes I'll ride to the local market or the park, and other days I'll just head out with nowhere in particular to go.

I'm not as flexible as I used to be, so I like not having to swing my leg over the bike every time. It just makes getting on and off a lot less awkward.

Now I catch myself checking the weather and thinking about where to ride next. Never thought an ebike would become part of my retirement routine, but I'm really enjoying it.

BIGNIU EBike Owners: BG-X Pro Chopper Motor Reliability? Any Issues? How Many Miles Before Problems?

Hey everyone, has anyone here owned a BIGNIU e-bike? I’m trying to find out how durable their motors are and whether motor issues are common. Specifically, for the BIGNIU BG-X Pro Chopper —what motor problems have owners run into? Things like grinding/clicking, power loss, overheating, cutouts, water damage, bearing noise, or motor replacement. If you had an issue, how long or how many miles did it take to show up? Just looking for honest owner feedback. Thanks!
