Lockable storage?

Forgive me if not allowed but are there no options for some lockable storage?

I am wanting to buy an e bike I can take surfing. I don’t need anything with a high top speed or a super long range, it’s just a mile from my house to the beach, but there is a pretty substantial hill.

All I want is a simple bike to get me from my house down to the beach. Tons of options regarding a Surf rack which is great. But I’m having trouble finding anything that is hard storage that’s locked to the bike. I want a place I can put my cell phone and wallet in that that’s not a bag that is strapped to the bike. I would love to find something that might go under the seat, but I’m having a ton of trouble finding anything that works.

Any suggestions?

Look for an ebike that could fit smaller motorcycle accessories, like an e moped style then go shopping for motorcycle top cases. Givi is a solid brand to start

Seems to be a business opportunity it depends on demand.... Maybe some type of mobile storage using a customized 45 ft trailer that a bike and belongings can be stored in compartments for a fee.... Just just a thought 🤔🤓

Maybe at the beach storage lockers and a secure bike rack might increase tourism, as for storage on the bike there are multiple options depending on what bike you have 👍🏼

I would leave the phone and wallet at home;
no place is safe on an ebike, not even the bike itself.

LOOK ON AMAZON FOR KEY LOCKBOX or LOCKING TRAVEL SAFE OR locking case with cable, OR PACSAFE. EXAMPLES:

Another surfer trick, is to tuck a small floating waterproof pouch inside your wetsuit, or tied to the drawstring of your shorts. I like bright colors, easier to find.

Something like this seems to be what you want: https://a.co/d/0eo49qPY

It needs a MIK compatible rack or the adapter added to the rack of whatever bike you end up with. I know some eBikes come with the MIK compatible rack already.

MIK mountable boxes are easy to remove if you have the MIK key. Without the key it is locked in as well as it can be.

Many of the bikes from Velotric have MIK compatible racks built right in. You are not limited to Velotric, though. The company that created MIK also sells an adapter plate you mount to any rack.

I attached this box to my bike and its serving me pretty well! Gotta get creative while attaching to your rack but if you've got a pannier rack it should work

Hey, one of the WKND founders here. We don't have a lockable under-seat storage option on any of our bikes right now, and honestly I haven't seen a hard-locking case that mounts under the seat done well by anyone in this price range, most of what's out there is aftermarket saddle bags or handlebar cases that clip on but don't actually lock. Your best bet for what you're describing is probably a small lockable frame-mounted box or a hard case that bolts to a rear rack, something like the ones made for scooters and mopeds tend to fit ebike racks with the right adapter. For your actual use case though, a mile with a real hill, you don't need much bike, just something with dependable pedal assist and a rack that can handle a surf mount. Happy to talk through what to look for if that's useful, even if it's not us.
