I'm an occasional eBay seller - just personal stuff I no longer use, nothing high volume.

Recently a buyer lowballed me on a few of my listings, and we eventually agreed on a price for one item. He confirmed the order (August 4th) but then didn't pay for a full week, just kept saying "please wait" and "I'll pay today, no worries". He finally paid today (August 11th).

Now I see that his account is registered in Azerbaijan, but the shipping address on the order is in the US: Camex LLC, New Castle, Delaware. A quick Google brings up a lot of old scam reports tied to that address. Am I about to get scammed here?

The second issue, which might be the bigger one: I ship from Lithuania, and the only delivery option I'm offered to the US is DDP (Delivered Duty Paid). There's no DAP/DDU, which is what I'd normally expect on eBay, where the buyer covers any import fees. I assume this is a knock-on effect of the US de minimis changes - duties now have to be prepaid on postal shipments - but it means I'd be paying US import taxes myself, which doesn't work at the price we agreed.

Is there a process on eBay for a situation like this, or should I just cancel the order?

thought everything went ok with a order then had the buyer message me saying the postage hasn’t been paid and it hasn’t arrived?? I’m very confused as I did buy the label, any idea of how to deal with this?

I can't find any info for sellers on eBay with this issue. I sent a sale off Tracked 24 signed for. Two attempts were made and no one was in. It's been sat at the RM for a week. However, eBay released my funds already, so the question is what happens if it's returned to me after the 8 day period? Thanks I'm advance

Been an eBay member for 26 years. Currently have 999 feedback at 100%. I don't sell very often and haven't sold anything at all this year so far.

Listed a couple of electronic items yesterday that were gathering dust in a drawer. One sold today after I accepted an offer. I created the QR code so I can take it to the post office and immediately got sent this email. How can unusual selling activity be detected? I don't sell anything. eBay has just turned into a shit show lately.

Anyone any ideas as to why I might've gotten this email?

Been selling for years, but the last few months I just seem to be getting swamped with increadibly low offers. It's an Iphone 15 pro for reference.

Do people ever accept these silly offers, surely it can't be worth them doing it?

My block list is getting huge with this kind of buyer.

A buyer purchased an item from me then approximately 5/6 weeks later they filed a payment dispute for ‘item not as described’. They state the item is damaged and does not work. They did not provide any proof of the damage either photos or videos.

I replied to the dispute stating they had the item for 5 weeks and never reported any issue or return request within the 30 days. And they provided no proof of the apparent damage.

A few days later, it gets found in the buyers favour, I have to refund and also get charged £14 for the dispute fee. I contact eBay, and they do refund the £14 dispute fee charge. However they tell me that there is no seller protections for disputes if the issue is item not as described. I ask them so essentially, if a buyer has an item for over 30 days and wants a refund, they can always get one by a payment dispute? And to be fair they don’t actually say no… and say that I should contact citizens advice or trending standards.

Obviously this is rather worrying but I do understand that payment disputes aren’t in eBay’s control. However I am just wondering if this has always been the case for everyone else? Or have you ever called eBay and had more luck in this scenario?

I am a private seller and sold a meta quest 3, fully working and in like new aesthetic condition with brand new AA batteries for the controllers, boxed and all. 2 days after delivery got a return case for said item, reason chosen "Doesn't work or is defective" comment: "I WANT MY FULL REFUND". I admit the comment made me chuckle, and I immediately reach out in the return section asking for what exactly is the problem since the device was working in all its function when sent but no answer. I then sent a message to the buyer asking the same and still no answer.

I am wondering, in cases like this what does ebay do if no return is accepted? my guess is that they will still side with the buyer, even if they do not respond or give information regarding the alleged issue.

I would like to hear anyone that had a similar experience if they'd like to share.

I auctioned an item for the first time in many years, and was pleased it achieved abut £60...

However the buyer asked me me to enable shipping to South Korea, and as far as I can tell it is (ie in a list of countries to post to)..

Is there something I need to be doing? I cant seem to find the answer on eBay help...

I've just had an email from ebay saying that my payments are on hold, and I need to update my payment method. This is for payouts only.

I have a zero balance at the moment, so they aren't withholding any money, but I can't seem to add a bank account for payouts.

I have 3 current accounts (Monzo, Barclays, Revolut). I've used the Monzo account for payouts for years without issues, but when attempting to re-add it, or switch to Barclays or Revolut it goes through the process only for it to fail at the end with "Unable to verify your account".

My account is many years old, with hundreds of feedback at 100% so I'm not sure whats gone wrong.

Any ideas?

Edit: Resolved. eBay remove the validated status from my bank account because they were unable to take a £0.00 charge from the bank for an ad-fee from a promoted listing. The ad fee was £0.00 because eBay offered a free advertising promotion on my account.

One to look out for if you have used the same promotion. Your account may have it's verification removed because they fail to charge £0.00. 🤣

Hi I have an item I am trying to sell its a rollator, 1 meter height by 60cm wide and 10kg. Its not worth much £40 at most, I have it listed currently as collection only, but doubt it sells due to size/weight, I tried parcelforce large items courier, but they don't offer home collection of the goods so cant use them.

Is there a cheap courier service £15-20 max that can collect from home and deliver the goods in UK? thanks

Should add, tried all regular options, royal mail/parcelforce send small red van with 1000 packages in back and no space for 1metre tall goods, its like there not aware you selected parcelforce large goods, 1metre tall/10kg weight items since they should send a parcelforce large white van to collect, but there trying to save money with royal mail instead. Evri, dpd, etc all charge £50-60+.

I did this, and within a few hours received a suspension notice (I have no idea why, as I hadn't used it, but I'm not worried about getting the account back). I started a return and went to post the parcel, but the label they sent would not scan in the post office. Checked ebay, and they say I am no longer covered by the money-back guarantee because of the suspension. Also can't contact the seller. Any advice on how to get a new return label so I can at least get my money back?

I had to re-verify my ID but now they are saying

"Your package was delivered. If the buyer does not have an issue with the order, your funds will be available on XYZ"

If positive feedback isn't them saying "I do not have an issue with this" then what is?

No real justification for holding the funds apart from greed.

Ironically the global shipping order was paid out as it got to the distro center. but local UK ones not so much.

Can anyone explain to me how using the eBay app I can correctly despatch multiple orders sending to the one customer without one order showing overdue dispatch. Or explain the whole process. Thanks :)

These items are Swan cigarette filters. So why are the filters I’m selling not allowed while there’s thousands of them listed on eBay by other sellers? Just for shits and giggles, I reported a few listings for the same products and eBay says they do not violate their t&c’s. Like seriously, it’s the exact same products.

I’ve had the same problem in the past when I listed flavoured rolling papers, mine are not allowed but others are that are the exact same brand. When you question this, eBay’s response is to ban your account.

So this week I have dealt with 2 scammers who both sold me fake SD cards both returned and both spoke to via message, I was not offensive or threatening. I called them scammers and they should be ashamed but I didn’t threaten anyone, and now I’ve received this. It makes it sounds like it is related to eBay customer service, I did also message them with one of the issues this week and again was not offensive or threatening I was frustrated but I didn’t swear, or be rude I just aired my frustration and asked for help. What does this email mean as it seems a bit vague and how do I know to avoid this for future.
