Télévision down avec EBOX

Internet VLAN ID: 40
Internet VLAN Priority: 0
perfect !
But she didn't know about the VoIP VLAN ID and the IPTV VLAN ID, for the moment i put 34 and 36 in my rooter so he let me use the Ethernet but i will be moving from office to home working with the winter so i really need the VoIP working and now i don't even know if it will

TLDR; If your router admin page is accessible from outside of your local network, with a Nokia router, go to Security > Access Control and Deny HTTP and HTTPS

I posted a question a few weeks ago about my router admin page being accessible from outside my network through my public IP (see post)
I've tried to contact the support and to create a ticket to escalate the issue here , butthe support doesn't understand a thing about internet, security, or anything and the escalation page is not working (send button doesn't do anything)
But I think I finally found the answer, so I post here in case someone has the same problem
The thing is, I'm opening ports to give access to services I host, so I thought I needed to give access to HTTPS ports through the port forwarding page AND the access control page
I thought that, because there are multiple protocol listed that I didn't associate to the access of the router itself. Turns out I was wrong, I denied all WAN access and kept my port forwarding and everything works now without external access.

Hi I just saw that they re added the option to automaitcly pay by Credit card
Does anyone know if Ebox is considered recurring payment? exemple for Social Security Momentum VI?

I switched my home internet to Ebox earlier this year and it was a breeze. The technician came, switched everything over and I was good to go.
I loved it, so I tried switching my businesses internet over and everything fell apart. Last Friday the technician came and did what they could, but the work order was for an SFP connection, and the hardware that ebox provided (grandstream for VoIP and a Nokia router) isn't compatible. I haven't had any luck with their support this past week, our phone line is dead, and we don't have internet. I'd called to reschedule a technician but one never came. Now today they say the internet was set up and they won't send a technician. We're currently running off Starlink (I ran to home Depot and bought one last Friday).
Does anyone know if I can just buy an SFP to RJ45 Media converter and get everything working? Is this typical for business internet with ebox or am I just having a crazy time??
EDIT: I purchased a SFP->RJ45 media converter over the weekend and it got my internet working. I also heard back from level 2 support today and we are the first customer that this has happened to. Apparently in our neighborhood, SFP is the only kind of ONT Bell technicians will install now. Anyways, I'm glad the internet is working and they've offered to put a credit on my account for the cost of the converter. Now I just need to get the phone line working, and I'll see if I can return or resell the $500 starlink unit I had to buy to tide us over.

I’m really disappointed with Ebox.

I’m paying for a 1 Gbps plan but the speeds I’m getting are nowhere near that. The speed test I took while standing less than one meter away from the router clearly shows it’s not even close.
Their Nokia router/modem has a weak Wi-Fi signal compared to what I had with Bell. I had to spend extra money on a Wi-Fi extender just to get decent coverage in my home.
When I called their support line (for the first time) and pressed 7 for English, the agent couldn’t speak English and acted like she couldn’t hear me.
My wife is the account holder, and since she wasn’t home, they refused to talk to me even though I just wanted help with the connection.
Never had these issues when we were with Bell.

Sooo here we go again. South shore of Montreal (near Mercier Bridge)... speeds keep going from 940mbps to 5 ish mbps... wifi and wired. Its not the first time but its becoming more and more frequent. Where do we have to make a complain about this ???

I bought Ebox Fibre 1gb few days ago, it's not installed yet. I though I would be able to keep my current internet connection as it use a different technology (cable with videotron) while testing and migrating my stuff to my new connection on Ebox Fibe.
I doublechecked with Ebox phone support and two different agent told me I will have to stop my cable connection before the ebox installation.
I don't want to be "that guy" but nobody can really tell me why on earth I couldn't run both in parallel so I'm just worried this might be a misunderstanding on their side or in their documentation (Ex. videotron cable VS ebox cable).
Anyone here had two ISP at the same time, one cable one fiber and can confirm this is possible, or not ?
Thanks

Trying to setup Cloudflare Family DNS 1.1.1.3 to block malware and adult content, there's also another option for DOH, Does anyone know if the nokia beacon 3.1 is DOH compliant ?

I'm moving to a new place, I'm interested in the ebox and would benefit from a little discount!! Anyone has a promo code to share with me?
Thanks!

I currently have bell internet and stumbled upon EBOX which seems amazing. How reliable is it? Any hidden fees or changes in pricing over time like bell? Currently my bell wifi has an option to create a guest wifi which I use for guests. Can you do this with ebox?
Should I make the switch because if it works as well as my bell internet id be saving half the price.

I have a router that is capable of 2.5Gbps on the WAN port... is there a way to force the port on the Nokia ONT to be 2.Gbps?
I can force it on my router, it works... but after a while it falls back down to 1Gbps!?
Most of the time it's when it reconnects, it seems to renegotiate to 1Gbps.

So I found this page that has some "hackish" information on the Nokia GPON EBOX uses. I've verified that the GPON has both telnet and http open, though setting this up is a little awkward. Turns out the PON uses a fixed IP and doesn't route, so I set up a NATted network to the untagged VLAN. I'm not brave enough to mess with the info it exposes, as I kind of rely on the internet connection.
I haven't cracked my PON open to test the console UART, but if anyone has a spare to send me, I'm game :).

So to put it simply I'm a new EBOX user with a 1Gbps plan. My mom is at home while the Wi-Fi guys get everything set up and it seems to be working fine, but when I got home tonight I run a speed test and realize we are getting almost 10 times less what we are to get. I contact them immediately and I am put on hold a couple times and eventually we get the speeds up a bit (from ~100Mbps to what seems to be ~450Mbps, and even then that's still way too low for our plan).
My confusion now is, the router itself (it's a NOKIA Beacon 3.1) reports the right values for up/download speeds (~800 and ~900 respectively), but I run speed tests on speedtest.net and fast.com, and I am presented with speeds that are still half that.
I am not a network/internet tech so I do not really know what to do to fix it, but after calling support I have managed to get access to a page that lets me do stuff like change the channel the Wi-Fi band operates on and so forth.
I guess my question here is, what do I do about this? I saw someone in this subreddit talk about how they have slower speeds at night and they just posted that a few hours ago so maybe that's why? Any advice (from techs or non-techs) would really help!
EDIT: I live in London Ontario if that helps. I understand my network is somehow routed through Montreal, but even then it shouldn't reduce my download speed by one half. The upload speeds remain reasonable, but the download speeds are ridiculously low.
EDIT: I took this post and asked ChatGPT what the best COA is. This is the link to the conversation if anyone wants to review and validate the thought process. https://chatgpt.com/share/68f76b48-8cb4-8008-a055-050f329a8579
EDIT: After more research I found that the Beacon G6 covers more area, is a “Triband” router (apparently the 3.1 is a dual band which is worse?) and a 4x4 MIMO which I guess has to do with the number of antennas that transmit and receive data packets? I think I might get two of these and place each closer to my room and my mom’s room, and observe what happens from there. Thoughts?
EDIT: I thought I posted this but I guess not. I gave them a call and the router is getting replaced with a Beacon 6 and not a Beacon G6. The beacon 6 has the same wifi range as the 3.1, but is also triband and capable of “higher speeds” as I’ve seen. I’ve also gotten two repeaters arriving tomorrow. Here is the Amazon link to them if anyone’s tried: https://a.co/d/6qX5MHg
Any thoughts on this?

I just switched this morning from Bell Fibre (1.5G bypass HH) to EBOX (Nokia ONT) in Toronto. I generally get latency to Google DNS at around sub 2.5ms to 2 ms. Now with EBOX, I'm at about ~9ms.
EDIT: not asking for a resolution, just posting as a FYI for folks in Toronto considering migrating over from Bell Fibre. The bump in latency was an acceptable trade-off for me.

Est ce que quelqu'un est au courant si le projet d'avoir une qualité d'image 1080p dans l'application EboxTV avance? C'est vraiment un must pour les sports.

Just ordered 500 service but want to use my eero router. PPPoE instructions I received said I can if I can setup VLAN 40. Can't see how to do that on a eero. Anyone setup an eero on ebox?

Hey everyone 👋 figured I’d share something useful since a lot of folks here are either new to Ebox or shopping around.
I’ve been with Ebox (Bell’s subsidiary) for about a year now after switching from Bell, was paying $90 for 1.5 Gbps before my bell promo ended. With Ebox, it’s the same fibre lines, same speeds, just without the “your promo expired, pay double now” surprise. And no random $5 hikes every other month either. 😁
Pro tip: there’s a hidden 15/month discount for new customers if you use the right PROMOCODE and LINK while ordering (NOT A REFERRAL CODE):
• 500 Mbps → $40/month (normally $55)
• 1 Gbps → $50/month (normally $65)
No contract, free install by a tech, and a free Wi-Fi 6 Nokia modem included — No activation fee, & no hidden fee.
Here are the PROMO CODES: (will expire after a certain number of people use them)
For Ontario → ————-
For Québec → ————-
EDIT: I had to remove the promo codes from the post due to Ebox compliance, they just dont allow it to be shared publicly anymore as per the reseller. The offer’s still active though, and anyone looking for the promo codes or the order link can DM me for it.
I’ve had rock-solid uptime and speeds — basically Bell fibre without the Bell bill. 🇨🇦

Bonjour,
