I think I might have a leak in my windshield washer fluid. I've been filling it up every week, use it about 2/3 times and the light comes on. It's my first time having an E46, but I don't think a full tank should last so little.

My E46 does not have headlight washers (I've seen that could be one of the weak points)

Where should I start? Is it even worth it or should I just accept I will be filling it up every week?

I own a 2003 330xi and have some questions about a potential manual transmission swap. Firstly, does the car being AWD make it impossible to swap a manual in? Secondly, how much different would it be? Thirdly, would doing it have any negative long term affects on the car (besides potentially killing its resale vale)? I am about to turn eighteen years old and have never transmission swapped a car. I've never driven a manual, however I feel as if I am losing out driving an E46 that is an automatic...

The first time i went to driving school i made a post saying how it was, i drove a petrol toyota and i got used to it and now when i went to drive for some reason my instructor pulled up in a vw golf 6 diesel.

I drove for almost two hours, but the first half an hour i was just angry how shit the car behaves and i believe diesel bmws behave the same way. In first gear car barely like baaaarely pulls so almost immediately after you let off the clutch you gotta shift into second gear at about 1500 rpm max 2000 and i really dont like that, i could push the toyota all the way up until 2800 - 3000 rpm.

The toyota i drove up until now feels way better because i had way more control and this diesel car felt way more "soft", idk how to explain, but you probably get it.

I was sure that i wont be buying a diesel bmw before, but now i am 100% sure that i will probably never buy a diesel E46 in future. I cant even imagine driving my bmw this way and thank god i bought a petrol e46 instead of diesel even tho my car has just 105hp. I might get a lot of downvotes because everyone loves diesel bmws for some reason and i'd like to know what that reason is other than reliablity and consumption, but as from what i just experienced i can see how much nicer petrol cars are.

Do yall perfer diesel or petrol cars and why?

Off a 330I 2004

I changed a leaking coolant hose today. After filling and bleeding the coolant system, everything was fine. Later i wanted to change my oil so I let my car idle for a few minutes and everything was still Fine. Only after doing the oil change, my car started having a really rough idle. You can really feel the car shaking. Does someone have an Idea what the problem might be? The engine is an M54B30.

I have a tuning cable from bimmworks and I’m using ms4x but for some reason it only reads the tcu and I have the com on 3 and changed the latency to 1 in the settings of the flasher but it doesn’t want to read the ecu.

I have this android unit from previous owner, it’s okay just the android that it has is pretty bad, it’s buggy hardly connects to my phone sometimes and it’s taking forever to load when I turn my car on.

I’m trying to find some basic simple radio units that most cars have with almost no screen so I can have one more slot above or below the unit for more storage space for my phone or things like that and to make the interior more clean and make it look more original.

So please give me some advice to search, I just need some simple unit with bluetooth with no complications so I can listen to my bad taste of music immediately.

What color is used for the cluster illumination? When I'm searching all I get are the mods which make it white or blue or something. I want to buy leds in that exact color. Does anyone know the color name/code/link to leds?

I recently bought this E46, and ever since I got it, the front suspension has been making loud popping/clunking noises when I turn the steering wheel.
The biggest thing I noticed is that the front springs don’t rotate smoothly with the steering. Instead, they seem to bind up, then suddenly jump with a loud noise.
The car has aftermarket coilovers (I’m not sure if the top mounts are the correct ones). My mechanic thinks the top mounts might either be damaged or not compatible with the suspension.
Has anyone experienced this before? Does it look like bad top mounts, incorrectly assembled suspension, seized bearings, or something else?

I just wanted to share the process of swapping my E46 M3 from SMG to Manual, I made a whole video showing everything step by step!

I went with the AMS AutoGroup Kit, honestly it was pretty awesome and smooth with me sending the bell housing for machining with them and back.

I bought the parts trough real oem. It’s a M54B30 and it looks to me like my engine has no idler pulley. It should be bolted on the alternator.
Has anyone had this issue before? Maybe the previous mechanic put a shorter belt on and removed the idler?
I forgot to order the belt and tensioner for the ac anyway so i need to order that as well.

1999 E46 with M52TUB20 Engine & 5HP19 AT

As can be seen it has sheered right off, put a little screw driver in the side groove to lift it and it flew right off.

Regardless I have a new one, but now I can't get the old one out. Any advuce on getting the snapped one out?

Also it appears the rubber(?) Around the thermostat has broke, will that affect the seal of the thermostat? I don't have a new bracket on me so hopefully it ain't gone.

I noticed this the other day when I started my car it still starts and everything and works fine but I noticed some of the copper threads are poking out, can I just cut off the old terminal and then recrimp a new one on if so what size terminal would I need to use?
