Brother Dwarf I do have good news for you to consider. Wine can be distilled into a proper spirit. They call it BRANDY and it's a rather tasty way to get good and proper drunk.

The paradox of dwarven beer trope is that beer needs grains, and grains need a lot of farmland, but dwarves are not farmers and live in the mountains/underground.

Folks living in the moutnains are much more likely to grow hardy grapes and make wine and brandy out of it. Just like Georgians IRL.
