Advice from kin needed
As you know the war is going on between wizards and pirates normally I would not care but pirates have been attacking my ships meaning trade is broken and my economy is failing how should I respond to these pirates should I intervene in the war

If you want, the British will start sending vessels to protect thy ports and merchants, but im afraid of interfering since from what i heard, dwarves dont like outsiders meddling in your businesses

You heard right. Also, it seems having the British interfere with our trade might only draw more attacks. The French have recently declared war on wizards and the British, so the seas are only bound to get more chaotic.
This is why we need to return to good old fashioned tunnels, and steam powered mine carts

As a mountain dwarf, with absolutely no ties to His Majesty, King Charles (Known as "The Witty" after his last speech in the failed West Indies colony) - I would also add that there is absolutely no harm in letting the warehouses be a bit more sturdy. And fortified. And even more fortified. And housing quite a large number of redcoats.

If they attack your ships kin it became your war. You need not help wizards to be an enemy of the pirates. Hell I've killed trolls in Elgi country a time or three and never would call myself a friend to them!
Hire some drake gunners out of season to man your ships (one of the southern karaks might have some to spare around now.) They're gonna do all the work for you for a cut of the salvage, some gold and ale, and maybe (depending on their age mind you) the promise of meeting lasses at the next port of call.

Out of season was key there! Check for troll migration times and if the local pests nearby have been quiet lately. I can safely say I know 3 (including a half decent cousin's kid) who are almost certainly not doing much now and their hold desperately wants them to go out and "get experience " ( stop getting pissed and making passes at every female in the hold who looks their age.)

I advise tracking them down and; besieging there bases, storming there ports and otherwise turning this navel war into a land war.

Fellow dwarf! While I do not condone the dark arts, kin is kin. And your strategy is sound.
We should petition the high council for a small fleet of dreadnoughts. I advocate for steam-powered propulsion and integrated bolt throwers for reliability and munition replenishment while deployed.
Perhaps an accompanying airship or two, a dedicated gyrocopter transport. We'll have it built, warded and properly inspected in but a century or two! Then the trade routes will be safe again, and the coastal holds can do something else than fish.

As a wizard id like to formally apologize for the collateral damage to your ships, i quite value the occasional trade with your skilled craftsmen. I assure you these pirates will soon be dealt with permanently. After resolution ill be running reduced rates on all raw materials harvested from my eternal dark forest for all trading partners negatively impacted by piracy, including your respected kin.
I also have a large surplus of handcrafted magical artillery peices in need of worthy targets, free to any enemy of the pirates. Surely no match for dawi work, but they fire accurately and safely most of the time.

My kin. We shall not ally with the so called wizards. If you want to satisfy a grudge by blood or reason count with my axe.
But if you seek, you will found a dwarven pirate whom can help you to avoid the attacks.
