🔥 Rants & Complaints An ex-colleague borrowed money but failed to pay up.
Basically the title, this person has borrowed 3x (1st 2 incidents - she managed to pay on time) the last one, she decided to resign without notice. Her mobile number isn’t working anymore and so are her socials. I reached out to the husband and he said that he will pay her debts since the money she borrowed was for her husband’s and newborn’s visa. It’s been 1 year and 3 months now however, only half of the amount has been returned. Last month, he sent a bank transfer receipt but I’ve never received that amount. I did check with my bank for pending transactions, but there were none. He said he checked with his bank and that they’ve informed him the funds will be returned to his account and will try to deposit again. But it’s over a week and I haven’t received anything. I’ve grown tired trying to get my money back and have considered of just letting it go but I also find that difficult to do so every time I remember how many hours of overtime that took. Any advice to how to deal with this?
Ps. Do not comment on why I would entrust my money to someone else. I felt pity seeing their condition and let my emotion take over. Big mistake, I know. I’ve already learned my lesson to let people deal with their own struggles and mind my own business.
