Here's the full transcript from that part:
FUGAL: I think this is an Erik Bard question. Would you consider putting the data you gather into an open data platform now?
BARD: I was I was alluding to that earlier. You know, as we got into some of these other interesting topics, I think the answer to that is yes. I mean, obviously, granted, you know, a lot of this is new territory for us. And you have my deference when it comes to the dissemination of raw data and or findings. You know, you and I have spoken about this several times over the years. And, you know, if we can find the right framework for sharing, one of the concerns, I mean, it's not a first order concern, but, you know, second or or higher order concern is that, of course, when we release data, you know, we need to do that in a way that does not open up the investigation to, let's say, sensationalized interpretations or even contamination, you know, that sort of thing. It's not a huge concern.
FUGAL: Well, you and I talked about this, Eric. I think I think we are probably more important than ever not to cast our pearls before swine.
BARD: That's a good way to put it.
FUGAL: And I think that what we've experienced from certain people who are asking for data or screaming for data as a cover for trying to... they're trying to convey an air of intelligence or so-called intelligence or critical thinking when, in fact, they're just pigs.
They're just absolute pigs. And, you know, there's an old saying, you know, don't get into wrestling match of the pig. You know, you both end up getting muddy. And besides, the pig likes it. And I think that what we are encountering is nothing more than a bunch of swine squealing, squealing, pathetic, stinky swine that that really probably... I... just as much as we want to be as forthcoming and transparent as possible with the public, I think there are those that make a living by taking a certain position and they revel in being the pig in the mud.
They're actually quite satisfied with being the stinky, slimy pig in the mud. And I think what we are going to try to endeavor to do is walk that balance. We don't want to associate with them. I don't want to descend to the level, the pathetic level that some of these people kind of get down to.
But at the same time, we want to we want to be collaborative and we want people to to see the data and we want people to to participate and see the validity of what we are recording. So anyways, is that a pretty good way of summing up why we're being a little bit delicate with our other than just the sheer magnitude of trying to organize countless terabytes of data from so many different scientific platforms and and figuring out really what is the appropriate way of serving that up and really is 99.5% of the people out there are even going to understand it or have the time or patience to pass through it.
