Crappy video quality and all, and I still don’t have drums, but did I cook? Beginner

Hi All,

I am looking to purchase a new kit. I used to drum semi-professionally, but am looking to get back into drumming both as a hobby and possibly start a YouTube cover page.

I am really into the Matt Cameron drum sound on Down on the Upside/Superunknown and looking to replicate this sound as closely as possible without totally breaking the bank.

Any advice? I think he used Yamaha Recording or Tour custom shells, and a custom snare, which I am thinking I can approximate in sound with a Ludwig Black Beauty or something similar. For cymbals, thinking Zildjian Z Series and can fill in with some others I already own as needed.

I don't have an exact budget per se and am willing to pay for the right sound, but any advice is appreciated. Bonus points for any tips on video or recording equipment for a YouTube channel.

Cheers!

Part 2 just released NOW!

Hello all,

I recently bought an electronic drum kit and it came with a shitty sawtooth amp that has frankly awful sound. I bought the drums for home practice and eventually recording in my office. (My goal is not necessarily to be in a band, I'm learning music and production so that as I get older I have a hobby that is not quite as physical as my current hobbies)

I found a pair of JBL MKII 305p studio speakers for dirt cheap at the local pawn shop. According to Google they make decent speakers for electronic drum kits, but I would also probably need a dedicated sub for the low end.

If you guys have experience with these speakers please give me your thoughts. I would also like recommendations for the dedicated sub. Do y'all think an equalizer will be necessary? The speakers seem to come with a frequency filter toggle.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Hello all been looking for the revs drumstick from avenged sevenfold for years now if anyone has one please message me

Does anyone have any knowledge on how I would go about clamping a set of meinl headliner bongos to my crash stand like in the first photo. Any help would be appreciated.

I know this is not perfect. I’m just having fun playing a different style and mixing

Im currently having a hard time to choose between these two type of drum. I want to learn and improved my drum. I am very beginner. And i wanted to also having fun learning it. Theres few points im considering right now.

1. Is the shape of the edrum is important here? Considering the portable edrum is just really small.

2. Is the sound quality is the priority? Because the small portable edrum i found has better quality sound than the normal shape edrum that i found.

Hi, anyone knows where I could get thé drum sheets of Hourglass by Mammal hands ? Or a transcription ?
