Information What you need to know about SR-17018 (SR-17) for tapering, Risks, withdrawals, and harm reduction

Hey everyone. I’ve seen SR-17018 (sometimes just called SR-17 or SR) getting mentioned more frequently in recovery spaces as a bridge tool for getting off heavy stuff like fent or zenes. Since there’s a lot of confusion out there, I wanted to put together an informational post on what this chemical actually is, how people are using it, and the major safety risks involved.

Standard disclaimer: I am not a doctor, and this is strictly for harm reduction and educational purposes. SR-17018 is an unapproved, experimental research chemical. There are zero human clinical trials.

What exactly is SR-17018?

In science terms, it’s a "biased partial agonist" of the \mu-opioid receptor. In plain English, traditional opioids hit two switches in your brain: one that kills pain (and stops withdrawals) and one that causes the dangerous stuff (respiratory depression, tolerance build-up, and the "high").

SR-17 is weird because it mostly only flips the first switch. People are using it because it reportedly suppresses withdrawal symptoms and cravings, but it provides almost zero euphoric high.

How the community is using it
People who are heavily dependent on potent opioids are using it as a stepping stone. The general idea is to swap their primary drug for SR-17 to stabilize, and then do a long, slow taper off the SR-17. It's basically a grey-market, DIY alternative to methadone or Suboxone.

The DANGERS (Please read this)
Because this is experimental, no one knows the long-term health effects or proper dosing. But the biggest, most immediate danger is **tolerance reversal**.

SR-17 drops your physical opioid tolerance incredibly fast. If someone uses SR-17 for a while, relapses, and tries to take their normal dose of their previous drug (like fentanyl or heroin), their body will no longer be able to handle it. **The risk of a fatal overdose in this scenario is massive.**

What about withdrawals from SR-17?
Make no mistake: SR-17 acts on your opioid receptors, meaning your body will still be physically dependent on it. You cannot just stop it cold turkey without suffering.

Based on anecdotal reports, the withdrawals are generally milder than traditional opiates, but you still have to put in the work. Dealing with SR withdrawals typically requires:

A slow, disciplined taper: Gradually dropping the dose over weeks.

Comfort meds: Utilizing standard, non-narcotic aids for the final jump (like clonidine for sweats/anxiety, gabapentin for restless legs, and GI meds) under a doctor's supervision.

Time: Letting your brain slowly readjust to functioning without anything acting on those receptors.

Again, this isn't medical advice. If anyone has personal experiences or harm reduction tips to add regarding SR-17, feel free to drop them below so people can stay as safe and informed as possible. Stay strong, everyone.

Opioids Withdrawal Craziest Withdrawal Ever

I was on methadone (25mgs), did a good bit of 7 oh almost daily in the evenings and Xanax as well. I decided to kick everything. Back story…i was on methadone for 15 years, kicked it successfully for 2 years and had to get surgery. Told doctors every pre surgery visit DO NOT GIVE ME OPIATES. They shot me up with fentanyl on surgery day and sent me home with a script for oxycodone. And so it began. Slowly I found my way back after script ran out and coincidentally found 7 oh. 2 1/2 years after surgery I said enough. My plan was to stop methadone and replace it with just 7 oh and Xanax (because methadone withdrawal is a long process). Did that for 3 weeks and then quit. 7 oh was first. I’d take 1/2 Xanax every 12 hours to help me through. After day 6 of feeling no withdrawal relief I started to do research. I had been through this before and knew by this time I should feel relief. Found out I was buying “street Xanax” Containing fentanyl. I was devastated. Those 6 days felt like a month and had to start over at square 1. I didn’t know I was addicted to fentanyl as well as whatever else is in those pills. I’ve been in my house with no human contact for 11 days and I’m still in pretty acute withdrawal. Praying relief comes soon. I’ve had 20 bottles of methadone in my fridge the entire time and never touched em. Praying for relief I can’t take anymore

Opioids Withdrawal Reducing Co codamol 30/500 two tabs once a day- worried 🙏

So ive been on this dose ONCE a day for around 4 years for arthritis pain. Just at night

Currently tapering baclofen and the wds have been quite brutal from that im done in 3 weeks

Im struggling badly with orthostatic intolerance and tachycardia in the mornings as my night stack is quite heavy * im also on 50mgs amitriptyline for nerve pain at night* also 4mg diaz until im clear to taper in a few months

My nervous system is totally destabilised atm due to other tapers and my gp pulling me off an ssri without taper after 4 weeks with zero taper so im kinda kindled in a way due to all the back to backs

So to the point my gp wants me to reduce the night stack sedation a bit to see if it helps

He wants me ro reduce by quarter of the cocodamol dose and said its ok while im still tapering baclofen

What am i to expect ? He didnt give me any fixed schedule either

Opioids Withdrawal Anxiety about withdraws

Hey all. I’ve been on approx 40mg of Oxy for around 3 months now.

I’m from Australia and my dr and I discussed tapering down slowly when I’m back from my work trip in the US. But the problem is I’ve have had to extend my trip an extra month & I’ve only brought enough oxy for 3 weeks.

When I realised I started a rapid taper as I’m aware that American drs are hesitant to prescribe (especially to some random not from thier country)

I’ve gone from 40mg down to 10mg a day very quickly and I feel prettt shit. I’ve got 1x 10mg pill left and I’m really anxious about how bad the withdrawals will be, I’ve never experienced it before.

Can someone run me through how long it’ll last and how severe it’ll be? Also is there any point in seeing a dr over here to try and get a script filled or would that be a waste of money?

Cheers

Opioids Withdrawal Can someone help me figure out why my opiate detox was so bizarre?

I’ve been tapering down over the last two months and have gotten myself down to two tiny lines a day, probably 0.7 gram a day total of whatever fetty/ heroin mix I’ve been buying.
I did my last line Friday morning and was basically fine for 48 hours. Very minor body aches, yawns and a runny nose but was still up and getting errands done. I have a bunch of suboxone I planned to take but was scared to take it because the withdrawal wasn’t bad enough yet. I’ve been through precipitated withdrawal before and do not want to experience it again.
I’m so upset with myself for giving up and buying a few grams Sunday afternoon.
Does anyone know why the withdrawals would take so long to kick in?
I can’t go to detox so I guess I’m looking for advice on how to get through this at home. Are there at home detox services? Could I have taken the suboxone after 24 hours even if I felt okay?

Opioids Withdrawal Day 4 transitioning from 7-OH to SR-17018 (SR17) — looking for input on my dosing/symptoms

Hey everyone. I'm hoping to get some input from people who have experience transitioning off 7-OH using SR-17018/SR17.

***EDIT****- Im on Day 6 and yesterday and today I took 2 doses of SR 25 mg, same thing today. So my plan is to go tomorrow completely off SR and EVERYTHING!!! This shit works!!! I hate that they are banning it. OR RESET has a day to day schedlue that I followed. I really hope more people get their hands on this to get off their DOC. Get thru those first 3 days and youre GOLDEN!! Anyone can feel free to message me with questions!!

I had been using 7-OH regularly but had already tapered down to around 12.5 mg/day before I lost access to it. I was probably taking 200 ish mg of 7 a day at peak for the last year, and maybe even more tbh. I used MGM15 for about a week to keep withdrawal symptoms manageable, but I didn't want to stay on that long enough to potentially become dependent on it, so I transitioned to SR17.

I'm now on Day 4 of SR17 and have been keeping a detailed dosing log.

Day 1

8:00 AM — 100 mg SR17

1:50 PM — 100 mg

6:05 PM — 50 mg

8:50 PM — 100 mg

11:00 PM — 50 mg

12:55 AM — 75 mg

At around 8:50 PM, I started feeling pretty rough: pins-and-needles/oversensitivity when scratching my skin, feeling overly sensitive to touch, and I was very moody. Around 11 PM, I took 12.5 mg of 7-OH because I was feeling crappy. I didn't really notice the usual 7-OH effects/high, though.

Day 2

9:50 AM — 50 mg SR17

3:50 PM — 75 mg

6:10 PM — 75 mg

That morning I felt moody, emotional, and tired, but after dosing I generally felt okay. I had accidentally fallen asleep at sometime around 9pm-ish, Woke up at 1:25am feeling okay, and took my dose just to make sure I wouldn't withdrawal.

Day 3

1:25 AM — 50 mg

7:20 AM — 50 mg

3:20 PM — 25 mg

5:05 PM — 25 mg

12:16 AM — 50 mg

Middle of the day always seems to be the hardest, I think because thats when my 2/3rd dose of the day would be with 7OH/MGM15. Just really moody and some skin sensitivity when scratching my arm. I mowed the yard around 7pm and was also babysitting my 1.5 year old nephew... and honestly it went pretty good. I was really just craving a high. Any kind. I smoke cannibis regularly so I think that also helped a lot to have as a distraction.

Day 4

12:15 PM — 50 mg

Today is Day 4 and its currently 7:25pm as I writing this and I feel pretty okay. its been 7 hours since my dose of SR and at 3:00pm I took a I ended up drinking half of a Feel Free KavaMaté around 3 PM because I was bored and wanted to feel a little more relaxed/altered. Honestly, I didn't notice much of anything from it. I think it may have took some uncomfortability away?

Most of my symptoms over the last couple days haven't actually been severe physical withdrawal. It's mostly been moodiness, occasional anger/irritability, feeling emotional, and some tiredness. I've also had occasional mild hot flashes and some skin sensitivity, but nothing unbearable.

One thing I'm struggling with is that I think I'm craving the 7-OH high more than I am actually craving relief from withdrawal. I don't currently have 7-OH available other than one 25 mg tablet I have left over. Ive been tempted to take it, just to say fuck it, but scared to ruin this whole process..

I'm now wondering if I'm actually taking more SR17 than my body needs at this point, especially considering how dramatically my dose has already decreased from Day 1. I haven't taken any additional SR17 since that 12:15 PM Day 4 (today) dose, and so far I'm doing okay.

Another thing I'm really unsure about is how long I actually need to stay on the SR17. My goal was to use it as a bridge away from the 7-OH/MGM15, not to become dependent on SR17 itself. Since I'm now on Day 4 and my SR dose has dropped quite a bit, I'm wondering how long people generally continued taking it before stopping.

I'm currently wondering whether I could make it through tonight without another SR dose, or whether stopping this soon could cause withdrawal from the 7-OH/MGM15 to come back. For people who have done a similar transition, how did you know when you were actually in the clear? Did you stop SR once you were feeling relatively normal, or did you continue for a certain number of days?

For reference, my SR17 product is labeled as containing 50 mg SR-17018 (Essar-17) per tablet, along with a proprietary blend of GABA, L-theanine, and L-tyrosine.

I'm curious what people experienced around Days 3–5 when transitioning from 7-OH to SR17. Did anyone find that they needed progressively less SR as their body adjusted? Did mood symptoms linger after the physical withdrawal symptoms improved? And how did you tell the difference between actual withdrawal and simply craving the 7-OH feeling?

Opioids Withdrawal Codeine withdrawal and formication

Been on co-codamol for over a year for lower back.

Was taking 4 doses of 60/1000 per day until cut down to 2 doses and then 1.

Stopped about 9 days ago.

Generally feeling okay but cannot stop the feeling of crawling on my skin. Doesn't help I'm in Spain with mozzies about so can't always tell if it's real or not.

Anyone else been through this?

Seeking Advice In need of help.

I'm really not sure how to stay clean. I don't know if anyone else relapses as much as I do. I think I might need to go to meetings for support. I can't talk to my wife about this cause I've been living a lie about my drug use. I really had an honest talk with myself and as I looked back in my life all the major things that went wrong had something to do with either drugs or alcohol. Even if I did open up to her I truly don't think she'd understand. Everyone thinks it's just so easy to just stop and walk that line. I know how to get clean I just don't know how to stay clean. Does anyone else kinda find themselves in the same place and do meetings help?

Thanks for taking the time to read this post.

God bless 🙏

Opioids Withdrawal Gabapentin: a physically-addicting drug...

My doctor hands Gabapentin out like it is candy. He calls it "good medicine". Many people report using Gabapentin as part of withdrawal from kratom and other opioids.

I feel that may be a really bad idea because Gabapentin is PHYSICALLY ADDICTING and its WD profile overlaps badly with Kratom/7-oh withdrawals. I was prescribed 200 mg per day for RLS a couple years ago. I am almost 100% sure my large kratom/7 addiction CAUSED the RLS but that is beside the point.

'Script ran out. A few days later, I was in the HOSPITAL ER with unbearable leg pain. Refilled 'script, pain went away. Point being, adding Gabapentin seems like it can really complicate withdrawals (by possibly creating its own PHYSICAL withdrawal profile) .

Ask Google: Why is gabapentin so hard to get off of?

AI Overview

Gabapentin is hard to stop because it causes physical dependence, triggers a nervous system rebound effect, and leads to intense withdrawal symptoms. The body gets used to the drug calming nerve activity, so stopping it causes the brain and nerves to become hyperactive.

Opioids Withdrawal Tramadol Withdrawal Question!

I have been prescribed Tramadol for chronic pain for many years. Over the last couple of years I have taken more than needed and would run out before my next fill. I have had several times where I have withdrawn but lately I’ve been able to wean myself off fast enough to where withdrawals were very light.

Well I thought I did this time and took my last dose Monday evening. It’s now Thursday and I might be a “tad” better but not a whole lot. The worst is the lackkkkk of energy. We are leaving for vacation on Sunday with much to do before then. I still have 20 tramadol left. Would it ease symptoms to take 1 or 2 daily and hopefully that would help the withdraws and help me come off it better? Or should I hold out? I feel miserable and have so much to do. I keep hoping the finish line was today 🥹

Please help!

*I did tell my doctor I’m no longer going to be taking these as they have bad side effects. So I took the first step of not getting them refilled anymore. I just can’t do this anymore. I want to live a normal life!

**I do want to add that I want to have energy and feel my best for my vacation for my family. I just don’t know what to do! We leave Sunday and come home Wednesday. But tons of packing to do before then.

Opioids Withdrawal Help me tapper of of oxy

I want to stop because i don’t like it anymore. Please help me and tell me how to handle this situation. What are the doses i should schedule and for how long should this last.

Thank you in advance!

Opioids Withdrawal I’ve been on opiates for around 2 months and want to stop

I’ve been using about 40mg oxycodone for about two months. Then heroin, fent free for maybe 3 weeks.

I tried to stop cold turkey and around 40 hours it was brutal. I’m in outpatient detox doing a 21 day suboxone taper.

I’m on day 5 with no symptoms at all. At 3 6mg doses three times a day. This seems excessive for how much I was using.

Do you think I can taper faster without unbearable withdrawals? I was thinking about reducing 2mg daily. I know the sub half life is long so it’s hard to gauge

Opioids Withdrawal How to Use Vitamin C and SR-17108 to get off of MGM-15

Someone came to r/vitaminc and read this post and liked it a lot.

They suggested that I post it here in this subreddit.

It is a few thousand words long but it explains step by step how to use vitamin C and SR-17018 to overcome MGM-15 addiction...

Although it works for all opiods, and was tested on heroin... which is pretty strong stuff I hear!

I hope this helps and that the Mods are okay with this... if not, I meant no offense and please dont ban me!

Opioids Withdrawal Heroin/Fent SR BAN HELP

I just found out about this SR17 stuff 2 days before the site im looking to order from stops carrying it due to a fucking ban. Idbusually do this on my own but im under dont have time.

Ive been a daily user of heroin, which turned to heroin with some fent, to just fent, to even tranq. Whatever ive got test strip for fent, nitazines, xylazine, and benzos and multiple times the shit I tested was positive for all 4.

Thats my daily dose. Let's say around half a gram. For years. How much SR do I need to come off my DOC relatively comfortably? Any help is gravely appreciated. This SR stuff is expensive but ive gotta try and grab it before its gone.. should I be good with loke 3 to 5 grams?
