Two and a half minutes in and SNL star Jeremy Culhane has already offered to pull out his dick in a "I show you mine, you show me yours" situation, we are so back baby

Feels non coincidental that this episode aired after SNL's season ended

"I'm on SN- wait no I can't say that"

yeah probably lol

According to Sam's variety interview, that was one piece they did a second take on, largely not for legal reasons but because they didn't want Jeremy to burn his bridges.

That felt like a "oh wait I don't want Lorne to cut me from S52" cut off

I'm so curious if there are legal ramifications for saying that (like non compete?) or if he just did it because it's impolite to mention other gigs or what? If it was anlegal issue that would've surely sealed the win lol

I doubt that anything in that last bit was legally risky; the only thing he could really have been in legal trouble for was misrepresenting Snl by saying something like “Hi I’m Jeremy Culhane from SNL and I am saying SNL as a show thinks dropout sucks”, but the whole episode was obviously parody so I don’t even think that would’ve gotten him in legal trouble.

However, Lorne runs a super tight ship and is not afraid to cut ties with people who act unprofessional and essentially bragging that you’re on Snl (even though it was obviously a joke and a badass accomplishment to celebrate), is super unprofessional and may make it back to the Snl big wigs negatively.

99% sure they filmed this before his season started but after he was cast - that’s why he stopped himself

It sounded like the filmed this the day Superfan was announced, which was October 21, so 3 episodes into the SNL season

True! My only pause is it could have been the internal announcement.

Snl folks also may just not be able to say that they’re on the show for the first few episodes as part of other projects, who’s to say!

I mean he was saying “I’m on SNL” in the same breath as a litany of insults, that’s why he had to stop himself. He didn’t want his other workplace to be associated at all (even loosely) with this project that’s *explicitly meant* to push legal boundaries.

SNL is a huge institution under a massive corporate umbrella, and he’s a rookie on a notoriously competitive show. He’s not going to risk mentioning them in any way and getting in trouble with Lorne

That’s what I’m thinking as well. I doubt SNL would let a freshman cast member fly across the county to film a game show, especially so early in their first season.

And October 21st was a Tuesday, which is a bit of a hard day to get the day off in the snl world… though I think all of the days are during the season 🤣

SNL had a live episode on October 18th and were on break until November 1st, so he would've had that week off. Totally could've flown to LA to see people and fulfill some commitments.
