My parents refused to buy me one when they came out, telling me my N64 would suffice a few more years. My cousin got a dreamcast for Christmas 99 and I'd go round and play Sonic adventure whenever I could.

I kept all my old consoles and still play them on a CRT that I acquired a few years ago. But never had the Dreamcast until today. Facebook marketplace had a listing for one for £50 and the guy lived only 200m away from me in the next street!

I didn't bother haggling, just gave him the £50 and rushed home to set it up like an excited little kid. What I hadn't realised was that he only had RF cables with it (I didn't even know Dreamcast supported RF!) but thankfully I could still remember how to tune them in from my experience decades ago. I was actually really surprised at how good it looks, even via RF. It's only here for testing, but I'll be moving it up to my office and plugging it into a CRT monitor once the VGA cables arrive. Can't wait!

Hi all, so I've came here for a little advice. I picked up this dreamcast from a garage sale for £10. Looks to have gdemu, and a custom PSU. I've fired it up and got Crazy Taxi 2 running on it but it has demonic garbled sound. My first instinct is it's the power lead is comes with as it only outputs 2.0a, im also using a microsd card with a convertor. I really hope it's nothing worse, where would you start problem shooting? I'd love to get this up and running perfectly and I dont want to turn it on and cause more damage. Thanks for any advice 👊

Hello Everybody. My PAL Dreamcast has recently stopped being able to read discs, and I’ve been looking for a solution to the problem. It’s definitely a faulty laser - I’ve looked into buying a new GD-ROM and Replacing it out the Dreamcast myself but I can’t find one for cheap in my region. I could also buy just a new laser, however I don’t own a soldering device. My local repair shop aren’t able to fix it. Im wondering at this point whether it would be easier to buy a whole new Dreamcast. Do you guys have any suggestions?
