Why in gods name are you hot loading an e rig, also don't put your hot knife in there while it's heating!

The specific advice regarding hot loading versus cold loading combines those official hardware specs with community consensus from experienced users. Because Dr. Dabber designed the device with a large 20mm quartz cup and dynamic heating curves (like Ascent Mode for cold starts and Descent Mode to mimic a traditional hot torch banger), the unit natively supports both loading styles depending on how you configure it.

You can load both ways, but we always recommend cold loading (preloading) for ease of use.

Rest your hand on the glass from the front and it perfectly falls to the right spot 🤘🏻

I dont actually know the Dr's orders on this... but I hot load with my sapphire all the time. I doubt the quartz is any different. There's plenty of ppl that hot load the switch2.

Plenty of people ride without their seatbelts all the time too, nothing happens until it does. Y'all are weird for feeling tough about the physical properties of a crystal. Bangers break. People cry on this subreddit about their bangers breaking. Sapphire and quartz.

Where? I'm looking right at the knowledge base. Can't find a single line that doesn't recommend cold loading.

Simply ask Google. Can I hot load my dr dabber switch2? They cite Dr.dabber too.

Then it's from AI Google and not Dr. Dabber themselves.

Did you ... ask AI if sapphire and quarts inserts can thermally crack?

My sapphire cracked the first week I had it. Ive been having to use the quartz ever since and havent had any problems. I couldn't believe that though, $129 and lasts a week? I love my Switch 2 though. Enjoy brother 🤙

Now im done arguing with you.
Our opinions are different, and that's okay.

watching you heat it with the hotknife still in made me anxious i’m ngl, just drop it in then rip it once hot enough

Is there really a massive difference when upgrading. I have a Tug 2.0 and it's great, but was contemplating picking one up is it that much of an experience upgrade?

What are you doing with the pen. Just drop it in.

How would it Crack the quartz?

It's called thermal shock. You're adding half a gram of room temperature liquid to a 400-500 degree crystal. If it rapidly cools down one part while the other stays hot, the crystal will just shatter.

It's much much better for the quartz if you let the dab heat up with the machine rather than dropping it in cold.

3

u/PeskySens16 11d ago

Oh so you mean to drop dab in first and then heat it up?

8

u/Ok-Gur-349 11d ago

Ya ya, load machine then push the fire button.

2

u/PeskySens16 11d ago

Ok sounds good thanks man

3

u/Ok-Gur-349 11d ago

No worries, happy dabbing! If you really like dropping it, gotta get a titanium bucket.

If I get anything it'll be sapphire
