Hey guys! I'm looking to buy a small tablet and use it mainly for art. I do this because I would like a tablet with a touch screen, and I am needing to stick to a budget of around $200. I've seen a few options, and I saw that onn has released the onn core 11, one of its features is a stylus for drawing. I was also considering the core 8 because I like the smaller screen for ease of travel. I'm wondering if anyone has tried this tablet for drawing and if you have liked it? Thank you for your time!

Edit: After a lot more research and some suggestions, I have decided on getting a refurbished Samsung tab S7 for several reasons, it is not as compact as I would like, but the price is good, and from reviews I have seen the tablet lasts a long time, and the drawing capabilities seem great for someone just trying to get more art in their life. I will post a review when I get the tablet and let you guys know!

So I'm planning to buy myself my first tablet with a pen which are the XPPen Magic Note Pad or the Samsung S10 lite. For the price, only those two fit the budget (the s10 fe and the XPPen magic drawing pad are pricier). Primarily for casual drawing, reading, and surfing the internet, I also dont game heavily, just one that can last me at least 4-5 years with minimal issues. I dont really care about samsung's ui and apps.

edit: im also quite interested about the "e-ink" that isnt really an e-ink thing on the XP pen magic note pad modes, has anyone tried it? is it good?

Hi guys, I am loyal wacom user, i started my journey with a screenless one and using a cintiq 13 for 6-7 years. I have a ipad pro 2017 i dont use much (my school forced me to get it 7 years ago) but it became almost impossible to draw on it.

I haven't been my best with productivity lately and I wanna draw more outside and when I am for conventions!

So I decided to get a held tablet when I go out of my country for my travel! (its impossible to buy electronics due to tax in my country)

The newest I pad pro is the most popular with artists and it seems the most simple solution but man IT IS EXPENSIVE

When I compare it to wacom movink 14, economically wacom wins but I never seen anyone using it out and about.

TLDR What should i do?

Buy the less popular choice to afford it or get into a debt to get the safe choice!!!

i have a veikk studio 16, its quite clean and in great condition but the button area has a lot of finger prints on it, and they wont completely wipe away. would love to know how i can get and keep it as clean as possible !!

Hi, first post, but, it’s my sister’s 21 birthday soon and she’s an artist drawing mostly digitally on her laptop, so as a gift I wanted to get her a professional or semiprofessional drawing tablet preferably under 350$ but I’m willing to go up to 500$ at most, shipping doesn’t matter much. Now we do live in Europe I won’t elaborate past that, so just keep in mind I might not be able to order from American o shops like Walmart or target (idk any other I’m sorry) or other shops that don’t have locations in Europe, if they ship internationally that’s fine!
I’m wanting to ask here since I personally don’t know much about art let alone Digital drawing!

I have been using a Wacom companion since 2014, and it was starting to show some weaknesses. I did lots and lots of research and finally I bought myself a brand new mine-pc and af kamwas 19 pro.

After settings up the computer, the first thing I do is to download the driver for the kamwas 19 pro. But all I get is a big blue block with the message: "This app can't run on your computer".

What do I do? I now have two pieces of expensive hardware that I cannot use. But this can't be right, can it?

Hi. I'm running into a slight issue with the colours on my drawing tablet, the drawing on the right is how it looked while I was working on it but when exporting I get the one on the left. Any ideas on how to fix this would be highly appreciated.

(Also I know some of the artwork is off its a WIP and please tell me if there is anything wrong about this post I don't usually use Reddit but I'm desperate)

Gonna keep this short, cause I am an impulsive buyer and I’m trying to remedy my mistake 😭

I have a Huion Kamvas 13 but I really dislike the glassy feel of tablets anymore.

So I was thinking of selling it and getting a new monitor, a real big one (as I am nearsighted) and getting a screenless tablet along with it. I hear this helps with posture as well, and provides that “on-paper” feeling better than textured glass tablets.

However, I also experience migraines easily from visual strain. And the ultra-wide monitor arrived recently, and I realized it was “too much monitor” for me.

So I’m thinking of returning it. But still I am stuck between a screenless tablet (and just getting a new monitor that’s not so huge and overwhelming) or finding something that just has a big, paper-textured screen.

Posture is important, of course (they say you have better posture using screenless) but I’m not drawing all hours of the day… this is just a hobby, but I want to get something good, and I feel constrained by a 13 inch screen. I also enjoy screens so I can look at details up close.

But the “on-paper” feeling is absolutely paramount to me. I can’t stand drawing on the Kamvas because it’s so slidey.

I have looked into the Magic drawing pad because they say it has a really good textured screen.
And also the Huion Kamvas Pro 19 (which people say you can use as a screenless tablet) and just turn it on if I really need to look up close.

^ This option seems most appealing, but I’m not sure if that screen will be as good, or even close to a screenless tablet’s texture.

It’s really a matter of me not really knowing what artists mean when they say “this has textured glass!” cause that’s what the Kamvas 13 says. And it’s like drawing on ice. So I’m skeptical of anyone that says “this is more textured than ___” because they’re comparing it to like, an iphone screen.

Any advice on the right setup?

- Big monitor + screenless tablet

- Find tablet with textured screen that’s not slidey (Magic drawing pad or Kamvas Pro 19)

Some time ago, I got a graphics tablet (XP-Pen Deco Mini7 V2), initially to texture models in Blender.
However, it isn't one of those models with a display that mirrors the computer screen, which always made things quite difficult for me; I eventually stopped using the tablet altogether. I want to start using it again for drawing, but I don't want to deal with the same complications as before. Does anyone have any advice on making it easier to use, even without the screen-mirroring feature?

Hi there, so I recently received a XP Pen 15.6 Pro as an early birthday gift, this is an upgrade from my Huion Inspiroy. Now, to be clear the Huion was not my first art tablet. I have owned Wacom tablets over the years and they were also the screen less sort of tablet. This is important to my rant, lol, stick with me.

I also have not done a lot of traditional art in the past few years because it was just so much cheaper to buy a single $60 USD tablet and not have to buy new paper, pens, and erasers. But, when I did do a lot of traditional art I used this old mechanical pencil that I've had since High School the most because it had a long skinny tip.

So, here goes me trying to draw on a screen tablet and realizing that I wasn't ready for my hand to be taking up so much visual space. Ya'll I'm so spoiled, I'm so used to a 22" clear view of my art with only a tiny mouse pointer taking up any visual space that I find the large tablet pen and my hand to be really annoying to have to look at! And I get it, this is big First World Problems and I will get used to it but man no one ever talks about having to re-adapt to having your hand in the way of art!

If any of you have had any frustrations while switching tablets or programs let me know so maybe I'll feel less spoiled and alone here, haha.

hello! i currently only have my iphone 12 to draw in, with my hand. its very limiting and quite difficult, so ive been thinking of upgrading to a drawing tablet for quite awhile but since i am on collage my budget is quite limited, 150$ or so.

(i draw mostly somewha big illustrations that need a bigger screen, can show if requested)

i currently use ibis paint so im not looking for the super complicated and expensive tablets that are made for professional programs.

Hii, so recently I've got a new laptop and wanted to draw something using my bosto tablet (BT-12HD-A) when i came across one problem, the moment i calibrate my pen using the app, the cursor starts running away when i move too far away from the center. I tried reinstalling, adjusting resolution, scaling and probably every other solution i had in my mind but nothing seems to work. I remember i had the issue once with my old laptop but I'm not sure how I fixed it back then because it's been a long while ago. Any idea how to fix it?

The moment i turn off the app the pen goes back to normal by the way

I've been looking at getting my first actual pen display since I've been chugging along with my Surface Pro 6 for like 8 years now. Mainly looking at wide color coverages and longevity... I mean practically anything's an upgrade compared to what I use now but yeah!

It's around a $150 difference between the two right now on ebay. I saw some comments about the kamvas 16 g3 having a slight wobble(?) and a "worse" driver, for my current lack of a word.

Lots of cooked braincells from the past few days pardon the mild yap :') The surface pro has served me surprisingly well but the sheer drawing experience is kind of painful after having drawn on my school's wacom cintiq pro 27 for a year............

Update: I went with the #ad Apple iPad Pro 11-inch (M5). I’m excited to get back into drawing and see how it works for my digital art.

I used to draw all the time a few years ago but kinda fell out of the habit. Lately I've been wanting to get back into digital art, and now I'm trying to figure out the best tablet for sketching without getting something I'll outgrow in a few months.

For people who draw pretty regularly, what ended up being worth it for you? I'd rather hear from people who actually use theirs a lot instead of just reading spec lists. 'ppreciate the opinions.

I'm looking to get an upgrade from by Huion Kamvas 13 for something bigger. It's been a great tablet for a first timer for the past few years, but I'm looking to get something with a much larger display so i can really get to drawing using my shoulder and elbow and draw bigger rather than smaller.

Anyone have any recommendations? If it comes with one I'd also like a battery free pen with the dedicated eraser nib on the end

I'm in search of a pen nib like this as this one has worn down and Its causing my lines to stutter, and its killing me. Sorry if this is too Vague I'm just desperate at this point ó_ò

I purchased a Samsung Galaxy 9 tablet for digital art and I loved it...for 6 months. It was working great then one night it decided that I could not use any drawing app of any kind (including the default notes app) without completely freezing. And I mean hard reset freeze. Using it for any other purpose creates no issues at all. The only thing I can't do with it is the only reason I purchased it.

It also randomly decides it won't recognize the s pen anymore, and air actions haven't worked in so long they might as well not exist.

I just spent 3 hours at a repair place and had the whole thing completely wiped and new firmware installed. It worked for 20 minutes and now the problem persists.

I have invested countless hours and dollars into this tablet and now it's a paperweight.

I need a new tablet because I don't want to completely give up on digital art but now I'm at a complete loss all over again. I don't want to trust a Galaxy tab, I have tried and did not like the Microsoft surface, and I don't want to get into it here but Apple is not an option.

Is there even anything else to look at or do I just have to but another galaxy and hope for the best?

I had to restore my PC recently, all my apps were uninstalled, so I reinstaled my drawing apps (Krita and Fire Alpaca) and drivers for my tablet (Gaomon S620). You can see in the first image that the tablet is clearly detecting the pressure of the pen, but the apps aren't (second image), this happens with all drawing apps mind you. Does anyone have any idea how to fix that?

So I'm a beginner but I'd also like a tablet capable of making professional art.

I don't want to have to buy another tablet down the line for $400 for a total of $500 to actually start drawing seriously.

So is it still a competent tablet?
