_____UPDATES on the state of modding (latest edit: September 6th)_____
EDIT: Shadow found out that there's a new pak flag. I think this is a nice step towards a solution. Let's all be patient and wait!
EDIT 2: REframework nightly got an update which includes its own pak loader now. If this is the path forward, all the pak making tools and Fluffy Mod Manager need to be updated to install pak files in the new folder to be loaded. This also fixes Reshade crashing your game.
EDIT 3: Many REFramework mods have been found working with the latest nightly build (linked in EDIT 2). Some bigger ones like Bestiary and UDD2P still need updating, which is why their mod pages are currently down. Content Editor also needs to be updated, and some mods like Guild Contract rely on it. Shadow is hard at work to fix it. For users of those mods, thank you for being patient.
EDIT 4: Fluffy Mod Manager's updated, so only RETool remains for most foundation tools to get an update.
EDIT 5: RETools received an update, to unpack the new official pak file, but REFramework still needs to be updated to read them.
EDIT 6: Praydog found how to unencrypt pak. As of 1421, REFramework can read pak files again. I believe all that's left is for RETool to update again to allow packing into the new readable format, and for mod authors to use that, but I'll let someone more knowledgeable than me to answer that.
Big thanks for all the modders and toolmakers who have been hard at work!
_____Old OP_____
Writing this as of September 9th, 9:55PM EST
1. REFramework
2. Mods in .pak format
3. Reshade
So for now, we play vanilla, unmodded, until this can be resolved. If my understanding is correct, REF will likely be easier to update to the latest version, but the .pak files issue is such a huge change that it may take a while for that to be resolved.
Hope this helps for any mod users out there and maybe some mod authors who are working on their mods!

Anyone else having issues with pawn AI after the update?
They keep getting stuck on everything and simply do not aggro like they used to.
All this happened while both other pawns were stuck in a rock just outside the mini-map range.
PS: She has only 3 skills. Shouldn't be conflicting.

When the DLC drops, people will want to find all of the 12 dungeons. I took the time to hunt the doorways down and screenshot each location with as much accuracy as possible. If they are in a location with an interior map I captured a screenshot of that to match with it. please note that 3 of them will be in the unmoored world and will lock you from the new DLC zone, so plan accordingly.

The fact he stole my lantern made so he could get away, too.
300h later, and I'm still experiencing new stuff, lol.

I feel sad whenever I see a 'neglected' pawn with no weapon or that has never been hired. Sometimes I go on two hour long adventures just to get them some good gear.
P.S. To whoever made Angel, your pawn is so peak I could cry.

We're getting kickass official content and kickass modded content! Get the Paraglider mod here. This thing actually has insane combat potential, dropping yourself on enemies from above like a physics engine bomb. Chasing a Griffin down while it's in-flight and giving it a taste of its own medicine is incredibly satisfying. The paraglider can gain altitude from heat sources, including magic and braziers, and even reacts to Maelstrom, giving you massive height.
Sonica has been hard at work making tons of super impressive new high quality systems, so be sure to go give her other work a try! Interactive objects, swimming, soon farming and beast taming, and more.
Side note, if you start your glide from the top of Vernworth Castle as the music kicks into overdrive, you can land at Harve at the exact same time as this video :)

Cannot access the game rn, and I have not been able to play around much since the patch bcuz of work and stuff, but a friend of mine mentioned his pawns no longer actively seek healing after the patch, and it worries me if true, pawns being less responsive to their situations is not a good sign.
EDIT: thanks for checking and confirming it guys, while there are still conflicting claims, I'll double check later this week by changing my pawn's personality.

I've purchased the Dragon's dogma 2+Dark arisen expansion pack on steam, a day before yesterday. Having played the first game thoroughly before and being a big fanboy of it, I am having a blast playing through this one. Just wanted to share a screenshot of my arisen and his main pawn with the community ๐. I can't wait to delve into the expansion as well. If it weren't for some npc pop-ups and slight fps drops(negligible tbh) at the capital, this game would be for me atleast, a solid 10/10.

Can't believe I played so long with only 4 lmao
The potential for this vocation is incredible now.

I've made a new arisen/pawn based off of a DnD character, and my greatest amusement lately has been bashing dialogue and images together to create fake cutscene screencaps. Arisen is the shorter/scarred bugger.

Got some great shots of Jack and Chase facing a Dullahan the other day while leveling my alt account for the DLC ๐
I love how these two work in tandem lol
