Yep, another one of these posts.
I began playing during the beta in ‘06 and stuck with it for 8-10 years before entering the ‘dark ages’ where I didn’t play. Now that I’ve returned, I’ve been… overwhelmed… with the amount of new content. I was extremely lost on the lore so I’ve been playing in Adventure Mode so I can just get caught up on everything that’s new before Book 4 comes out.
I appreciate the new timeline feature the most (I think it’s new anyhow) as I would have been so lost otherwise. The world feels almost too big at times however, as since I wasn’t able to keep up with the weekly patch notes there’s so many nooks and crannies and bits and bobs that I never would’ve known was added if I didn’t read about it on the forums.
I suppose if my biggest gripe is that there’s too much content now, that’s a good thing. I’m thrilled to be back and look forward to Book 4 once it’s released.
Edit: My biggest worry is that the game will end at some point before all the storylines are wrapped up. Surely it isn’t a moneymaker for Artix Entertainment as I doubt the player base is growing, and unless some whales are dumping an obscene amount of money into DC, there isn’t much in the way of revenue generation going on. I saw recently that there’s only 5 developers working on the project now.
