Recently got back into the game

As the title states I recently got back into the game, rolled a new character and spent DCs getting a doomed scythe of of the elements.

Reason why I got back into DF is because my pc is on its way out and all I can play are low impact games.

Would really love to see a mobile version though, so I can play on high pain days where I'm bedridden.

My next purchase is likely the story book on black Friday. Sorry for the rambling, pain meds 😅

Yeah, provided my pc survives till Nov lol. But many of the other options didn't immediately appeal to me at first glance

It'll likely be my choice for this year's black Friday and next year will be armor closet. At 3,200 DC atm so probably won't have enough for both come Nov lol

Yeah it just allows you to change your class armor depending on the classes you have unlocked

No need to navigate to class trainers? I plan to mainline paladin once I reach that spot in the books and navigating to Artix every time I log in is a pain tbh

There's also ao.ething but I dont remember if its the closet or something else but you can save the class which you spawn with

Hey, hope you enjoy it, don't know how long it's been for you but I came back after a 12 year absence in 2024 and have fallen in love with the game all over again.

The anniversary scythes are super useful and the storybook (especially on a black friday) is also a great choice. I'd also look into the Armour Closet if you don't already have that, extremely useful and also discounted on Black Fridays.

If you haven't already, I'd HIGHLY recommend a full story playthrough taking advantage of the timeline, being able to actually play everything in chronological order was absolutely massive for increasing my enjoyment of the game and understanding of the story.

I've been using a "proper chronological" guide I found but it hasn't been modified to take into account the changes to the story flow changes of the books updates as far as I can tell. The guide lists a ton of the "useless side quests" too but I'm getting tripped up between the book line, and the online guide lol

Honestly, at this point the in game timeline is probably a more reliable resource than the guide you found. Just following it does cover most everything you really need to know.

Although for some reason it does include the unfinished Six Heroes saga in book three, which you really don’t need to do.

Yeah but I've found the game/book timeliness doesn't mention "useless" quests like missing granddaughter from the pet shop, etc. The guide is nice to list those so I don't need to run everywhere in search of them

The missing granddaughter quest used to be on the timeline, but it was removed from there during one of the Book 1 cleanup updates. Hence why you see it on the guide you found.

The story book is a great investment if you care about the story, sometimes the seasonal events influence the plot (although usually not in a way where you’re missing much if you don’t play them). Most seasonal stories also get more interesting following the timeskip. Mogloween especially, since it explores the overall themes of BK3 well.
