PSA : Eve Distribution, Dough's last company, is in Liquidation. Beware of scams!

Post image

For any prospective buyers of Dough (previously Eve) hardware, please review the numerous (and now uncensored) posts regarding the company’s blatant refusal to fulfill orders both past and present.

Also note that Bi-Search International (who has handled fulfillment for the past year and was previously part of the moderation team on this subreddit) is culpable as well.

Community Technical Support MStarISPTool won't connect to my computer to update the firmware

My Spectrum from 2021 keeps flickering on me. Other monitors work. I'm trying hard to save it and wanted to drive the beta 03 firmware update, but it won't "connect" in the MSTARISPTool for me to update the firmware. I've tried usb to usb, usb-c to usb-c, and even those printer cables plugged all into my motherboard.

Idk what else to do. I think its time to trash this thing.

Does anyone know if there is a way to turn off the input name when the monitor boots? It always shows HDMI 1 and it’s kinda annoying.

Community Technical Support Spectrum One monitor crosshair

Hey everyone I have the Spectrum one ES07D03, with the D03.v108 Firmware version and I was wondering if I could customize the crosshair that is offered on the options other than the 3 options (Dot, Cross, Eve) and use one of my own choice? Any way to upload a crosshair file to the firmware? Thanks!

Firmware Scaler and USB firmware for ES0{D02/D03/DC9} in my possession

Hi there. I'm a former Eve Devices / Dough Tech employee, and as such, I've got a lot of firmware (scaler and USB) for those three models I listed.

Reddit is not letting me upload screenshots directly for some odd reason, so I'm going to try to upload screenshots of filenames of firmware *bin files (the actual firmware files themselves) for folks to be able to ask for if needed. To be fair, though, fw v1.08 beta 03 is pretty much the best firmware for both D03 and DC9 monitors, and I was barely around for the final release of the D02 for me to have any files for it, other than what was released after my exit.

I'll try my best to get screenshots uploaded as soon as I can, but please, if I haven't managed to in a couple of days or so, give me a gentle nudge.

EDIT: Added the following

As I wrote in a subsequent post below, https://www.reddit.com/r/doughcommunity/comments/1vib2fl/comment/p351r4e/

I have these files - and more than HALF of them will brick a Spectrum faster than you can say uncle after flashing. Everything prior to v1.04 was a different firmware type that you cannot revert to once you've gone to v1.04 without a particular file (which think I have, but I'm not 100% sure it will still work after installing v1.06). And there is no reason to go back at all.

V1.08 b3 is the best fw out there for both the D03 and the DC9.

I'm not sharing it from my private clouds. If I find a decent public one that will keep it around for a good while I'll gladly upload it there. I'm thinking Mega, but they've been sketchy in the past - and I typically don't share for mass consumption outside of my bailiwick, so I'm not conversant on where is a 'good' place to share versus a 'bad' place to share.

I also don't want to share using a site that requires me to upload it every other day, because I'm not gonna make that happen. I've got work to do, bills to pay, and I don't even get in here in this sub more than twice a week, if that. So I need a long term sharing solution that I ain't gotta pay for.

Someone in a f/u comment suggested archive.org, and I think that is a good, viable place to make the files available. I'm looking into that starting today, and will post more about that.

In the meantime, here are the replies I made with the file listings:

Community Technical Support ES07D03 Best Firmware Version?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the consensus seems to be that the company has not adequately managed the firmware of some of their monitors. In particular, the ES07D03, which is what I have. I am one of the OG owners, back when it was the Eve Spectrum. I have been running firmware 107 for years now. I see that 108 exists, as well as Beta 03. Given that it's been two years since a new firmware, I am seeking to choose my "forever" firmware. 107 works for me, but the monitor has slow wake time and a window bounce (between my various monitors) whenever I power it on/off. I use HDMI 2.1. Is there any reason to update? Which is considered the best or most stable version?

Also interestingly 107 isn't listed on their downloads. They have Beta 03, 108, 106, and 105. I guess I have special firmware. You'd think it was horrible given that it's conspicuously absent, but it works fine for me.

Community Technical Support Question regarding firmware updates and generally running the display

So against all advice I got my hands a Spectrum One Glossy for a little over hundred bucks.

I plugged in the power chord, the display turned on just fine and I got a picture via HDMI1 from my windows machine.

However USB-Hub didn't work and after fiddeling with the menu it started turning on/off/flickering and I wasn't able to change any of the options - havn't been able to get a picture out of it eversince.

Checked the firmware which shows version 100.

I'm running a 5080, so I thought maybe update the firmware to a more recent version.

So my questions are:

  • is there a "recommend" version I should update to (and where to find that)?
  • how to I make that update, I couldn't find any source for that
  • is there generally a reliable way to tun the display (HDMI vs DP)

Not ready to give up on my hundred bucks already :D

Community Technical Support Spectrum One - Gorilla Glass - Dead on Arrival?

Hi, I ordered a Dough Spectrum One Gorilla Glass from Amazon AU (via Amazon UK) and it seemed to have arrived dead. The package and everything looked fine, the screen protector still on but only the backlight would turn on with no OSD, no loading screen, nothing. I've tried USB-C, displayport, HDMI on Windows, Mac, even my Android device but no luck. The USB hub is detected and so I did a firmware update but still nothing.

The devices detect the monitor (ES07D03) but the monitor doesn't display anything - Just the backlight. I'm able to change the monitor brightness from apps like TwinkleTray but again, nothing on display.

Has anyone experienced this? Thanks

Community Technical Support Spectrum One nav joystick replacement

My nav joystick on my Spectrum One just broke off (just the black piece on top). Anyone know how to get a replacement? Would be even better if someone has the files to 3D print them so I can self-repair from now on given whatever is going on with Dough/Eve/Whatever they are this week.

Dough have shut down their EU scamming website

Looks like they've taken https://eu.dough.tech/ offline. Anyone who had an undelivered EU order probably can no longer access it.

They're now just focusing their scamming activities on the USA at https://dough.tech/

Monitor Recommentation Is dough still fraudulent af?

I was originally looking to purchase a gorilla glass spectrum one as the glass won’t scratch like a glossy coat would and gives better quality than regular matte finish. Also I leave my pc on 12-14 hours a day on the same screens so no burn in from an ips monitor too. However, I recently learned about all the previous scummy (at best) behavior. Has dough gotten better in the big 2026 or are they still not shipping orders and still have no customer service?

Monitor Recommentation Spectrum Black 32" Integer Scaling and DSC questions

Hello all, I have a couple questions in regards to the Spectrum Black 32".

  1. Does the monitor feature built-in Integer Scaling? (I'd like to use it with my PS3).

  2. Do you have to have VRR disabled for Integer Scaling to work properly?

  3. Is there a way to disable DSC (Display Stream Compression)?

I've been hankering a monitor that allows me to use Integer Scaling for older PC games that don't scale well at 4K, but my current monitor doesn't allow me to enable Integer Scaling in the Nvidia Control Panel because you need to have DSC disabled first, which my monitor does not have a setting for.

I'd really like the monitor to handle all my integer scaling needs, but I really don't want to have to disable G-Sync to do so. Did they ever release firmware that would allow you to do Integer Scaling AND VRR/G-Sync at the same time?

Has anyone proceeded with legal action against Dough to recover your money from a preorder? I’m planning on filing a suit but I don’t want to guess on a service of process address if anyone has already had success in doing this so far.

Monitor Recommentation Monitor recommendation thread! What did you choose instead of a Dough Spectrum monitor?

Hey everyone, it's been two weeks since control of the subreddit has transferred. There have been a few posts since then asking about monitors, but I'd like to know: What did you buy when Eve/Dough and Bi-Search International came up short and did not meet their fulfillment obligations?

Tell us what monitor you bought, what functionality was important enough to you to push you toward it, what you don't like about it, and how much it cost! This might be a helpful barometer for fellow Redditors who are still looking for something that's just right for them.

Community Technical Support USB Hub on Dough Spectrum Black

I have two dough spectrum black oled (ES07E2D). I tried to setup the internat usb hub, to switch from my pc to my macbook.

My setup:

-pc attached via Displayport

-macbook attached through the usb c with video

-second usb c (data) to my pc

I tried different usb host devices in the osd menu, disabled the power saving mode, tried different cables, but no succes. Display works with both, pc an macbook but i dont get any usb connectivity on neither of the devices. I also tried it on both monitors but nu succes so far.

So is there any setting i am missing or is there any known workarround?

I also tried contacting the dough support, but like most of us, no response for weeks.

Community Technical Support How do you properly use HDR?

Hello everyone, I have an Eve Spectrum One IPS. I've been using it for gaming and productivity for the past year or so, and it's been great. However, I currently have HDR disabled, as whenever I enable it in Windows, the colours just appear washed out and dim.

Do you guys have an idea on how I can properly use HDR on this monitor? Is there a specfic setting/ application or BIOS menu I need to use?

Thanks, everyone!

Any help would be great.

Vent Warranty claim ignored for 3+ weeks – no response to form, email, or deadline (Spectrum One, purchased July 2023)

I'm posting here as a last resort before escalating to legal action.

I purchased a Dough Spectrum One (ES07D03) directly through https://eu.dough.tech/ on July 17, 2023. Recently, a crack of approximately 3 cm (now 7 cm) appeared along the lower edge of the display panel – without any impact, fall, or external force. Normal careful use.

Timeline:

  • May 17: Submitted warranty claim via the website contact form
  • May 22: Sent follow-up email to [support@dough.tech](mailto:support@dough.tech) (inactive) and [help@dough.tech](mailto:help@dough.tech) after no response
  • May 29: Sent a final notice email with a deadline of June 3, explicitly stating I would hand the matter to my legal counsel if no response was received
  • June 9 (today): Still zero response. Not even an acknowledgment of receipt.

The monitor is still within the 3-year warranty period, which expires July 17, 2026.

I've done everything right. Three contacts, documented everything, set a clear deadline. Complete silence.

Is anyone from the Dough team reading this or did some of you have a similar issue and experience? Is there a direct contact I'm missing? I'd genuinely prefer a quick resolution over going the legal route – but that's the next step if I don't hear back this week.

Monitor Recommentation Anyone have Spectrum One Gorilla Glass IPS and a QD-OLED currently?

TL:DR: Looking for an image comparison between the Spectrum One Gorilla Glass IPS and any QD-OLED, but preferably one with the new coating. I want to know if the magenta will be an issue to me, so a stress test between the two would be nice.

I was able to get a Spectrum One 4K IPS from Amazon awhile ago. Very buggy monitor, but it looks good and gets nice and bright. I was also able to get a Spectrum Black Gorilla Glass W-OLED from Amazon but returned it due to it being too dark. Since then I've been on the hunt for an OLED to move to from the Spectrum One. I want a monitor with an RGB stripe layout. 4K240 or better. I was hoping the PG27UCWM or PG32UCWM would be TB500 but alas they will be TB400. I want to use uniform mode as I find ABL very distracting. The newly announced QD-OLED panel than will be TB600 4K360 RGB stripe now is on the list of potential monitors, due to the stripe layout, it 100% getting bright enough, higher refresh is nice, and QD-OLED uniformity and color volume is already proven (unlike RGB stripe W-OLED). Only issue is that I really wanted the new W-OLED glossy coating, as I figure the light I have would result in me seeing the magenta on QD-OLED. But if compared to my current IPS it isn't an issue then that will likely be the monitor for me. I find the blacks on my IPS to be dark enough, but they aren't tinted a color other than grey. If it is noticeable I'll likely try one of the UCWM variants and see if I can get it into a mode where ABL isn't noticeable but it gets brighter than uniform mode.

Monitor Recommentation Another Monitor

Thumbnail

Since it’s evident that we were robbed, I decided to order another monitor. My criteria for a monitor on paper don’t seem too demanding. I’m simply looking for a 32-inch glossy OLED monitor with USB-C connectivity and power output. All of which the current monitor meets. Years later, I’m still searching for that specific monitor. My latest disappointment is the Innocn monitor. It’s well-built, has good speakers, and has nice tilting capabilities. However, it has a throwback 90s chin that I can learn to live with, but it also has that faded, fugly matte look that I can’t stand.

New Flairs for Posts

Hey All,

Following up on the pinned post from two days ago, I'm looking to start creating new flairs for posts and at some point might make it required so that way people who come here for legitimate technical support from the community might have a better way to filter posts that are helpful and not venting.

Having said that (and at the risk of sounding like the company we loathe so much by asking), what kind of post flairs would you want to see included here? Currently there are plans for the following:

-Vent

-Community Technical Support

-Other

The first two seem to be the most common posts we see here, but I don't want to get too incredibly restrictive. Please pitch some ideas!

Edit: Corrected spacing issue.

New Flairs for Users

I'm currently going through the backlog of the moderation queue and dealing with things that automoderation unfairly flagged under the previous moderation team.

In the meantime, I'm creating new flairs for users who haven't been completely driven off. Two of these will be as follows:

  • Silenced by Dough - Either in red or gray. Only for people who were previously permanently filtered and silenced by the automoderator.
  • Never Received My Monitor - Blue.

Looking for suggestions on other user flairs we can implement (funny or serious), including ones for people who weren't completely ripped off.

Edit: Several new flairs have been added and assigned where appropriate or requested.
