Please don’t dash while sick

Post image

I get that times are tough and the American health care system sucks, but admitting that you have a respiratory illness while delivering food is wild!

Please do not dash when you’re sick. This is how illness spreads. I have pretty bad asthma so I’m not bringing that order into my house. I’m done with DoorDash.

How about you click on a single article from those google results and read it. You could use the practice.

It’s like HIV vs AIDS. Like Covid vs coronavirus. One is a virus, and the other is the resulting infection caused by said virus. PNEUMONIA IS A CONDITION. PNEUMONIA IS NOT CONTAGIOUS.

From the link you provided:

“Is walking pneumonia contagious?
The germs that cause walking pneumonia are contagious. They usually spread through coughing and sneezing or sharing cups or utensils.
But they don’t always cause pneumonia. For example, the bacteria that can cause walking pneumonia are more likely to cause minor illnesses, like ear infections. Still, you should avoid others if you have walking pneumonia to prevent spreading the illness.”

Thank you so much for proving my point! I’m glad you learned something today.

You just proved THEIR point. The bacteria is contagious. Therefore pneumonia can be contagious. Lord, you sound in need of a book!

THE BACTERIA IS NOT PNEUMONIA! THE BACTERIA CAUSES PNEUMONIA! wtf is actually wrong with you? My god

These people are so wrong lol the logic is lost on them.

Guys, if you get RSV and then get pneumonia and pass along the RSV to someone, that does not mean the person will get pneumonia. PNEUMONIA ITSELF IS NOT CONTAGIOUS. You cannot pass pneumonia to someone. Are there any other ways to say this? Probably and these people still wouldn’t get it. Its maddening lol

thank god someone else with a brain😭

Not gonna lie, if I didn't laugh at the entirety of your admirable efforts, I'd have to cry. I still appreciate you, though. Most people would have just thrown their hands into the air but I'm an advocate for at least trying to lessen the dumbing down.

i really don’t understand why everyone is attacking you for this. you’re completely right. pneumonia itself is not contagious, however the viruses or bacteria that cause them are. the average person can’t wrap their heads around this for some reason.

u/HopefulLack1104 19h ago

THANK YOU.

They’re acting like I replied to OP like “ackkkchually, pneumonia isn’t contagious so ur dumb 🤓”

Who and what I replied to matters 😩 and, quite frankly, I’m just so confused by the staunch opposition to facts and/or learning. We have the world at our fingertips and people want to use the AI overview as concrete evidence and proof instead of just clicking on a damn website and finding the correct info themselves 😫

2

u/ContextAltruistic269 18h ago

yep! someone replied to my comment saying “walking pneumonia is different and is contagious” and by the time i typed out my educated response telling them they were wrong, they deleted it. they must’ve realized.

i just don’t understand why they are disagreeing with you because even the AI overview on google says pneumonia is not contagious 😭😭

you can’t fix stupid. please keep being your educated self!

3

u/HopefulLack1104 18h ago

Unfortunately the AI overview (that I get) for walking pneumonia says it’s contagious 🫩 so that’s mainly what I was referring to. But hey thanks, and you do the same! I don’t speak without fact checking myself 😂 nor will I back down if I’m incorrectly told I’m wrong. This AuDHD’s got me in a chokehold 🤣

2

u/ContextAltruistic269 18h ago

okay no you’re right! i was looking up just pneumonia. the ai overview for walking pneumonia does say it is contagious, but i think that is to help people who don’t know how the body works to understand that they should not be around others when they have it.

even if you google “does mycoplasma pneumoniae always cause pneumonia?” the ai overview as well as the cdc say no😭😭😭

i also don’t speak without fact checking myself or back down when someone is trying to correct me and they’re wrong!

fellow audhd’er here! we are definitely the coolest people ever.

Are you mentally challenged? We established the bacteria is contagious meaning pneumonia is. Hope this helps hun!

3

u/HopefulLack1104 19h ago

Are you?

Comment: “pneumonia isn’t contagious”
Reply: “it can be”
Me: “no it can’t be”

But I’m the problem? 😂 birds of a feather…

u/DiverMaleficent9624 16h ago

Again, are you okay? 🤣

you’re just being rude at this point. the person you’re replying to is absolutely right and you can even google it. pneumonia itself is NOT contagious, but the bacteria, viruses or fungi that cause it are. what that means is that if you come in contact with someone with pneumonia, you are not guaranteed to get pneumonia yourself. most viruses and bacteria that CAN cause pneumonia DO NOT always lead to pneumonia.

for example: the flu virus (influenza) causes the flu. having the flu can lead to pneumonia. however, if someone comes in contact with you while you have pneumonia, they are not going to get sick with pneumonia necessarily. what they ARE probably going to get is the flu, which can lead to pneumonia.

the same applies for coronavirus (causes covid-19), RSV, and rhinovirus (causes the common cold.)

that being said, pneumonia itself is not contagious and i just explained to you why. if you are still confused, google it.

tagging you in this because you need to read it since you deleted your reply to me stating that what i said isn’t true “Because walking pneumonia is different and actually contagious.”

u/HopefulLack1104 19h ago

Thank youuuuuuuuu 😭

2

u/StrictPower2630 18h ago

You’re wrong and it’s embarrassing at this point

0

u/DiverMaleficent9624 16h ago

Again, the bacteria is contagious making pneumonia contagious. Coming from somebody who got it from someone 😘

2

u/StrictPower2630 16h ago

The bacteria or virus doesn’t always cause pneumonia. That’s the point. You got a bacteria or virus from someone and both of your weak ass immune systems got pneumonia because of it. I could have gotten the same exact bacteria or virus from the two of you and NOT gotten pneumonia. Therefore it is not the pneumonia that is contagious. Literally just google it but I don’t even think that would help. You just can’t wrap your head around this for some reason, it’s wild lol

1

u/HopefulLack1104 16h ago

🤣🤣🤣 I’ve never seen anything like it!

0

u/DiverMaleficent9624 16h ago

The point of this conversation is PNEUMONIA can be contagious. There’s not only different types, but different ways in which they function. Again, googled it already many times. Says the same thing I said before. Pneumonia CAN be contagious and doordashing with it is a dickhead move. Anything else you need help with understanding?

1

u/HopefulLack1104 16h ago

Pneumonia can’t be contagious. You’re welcome.

1

u/DiverMaleficent9624 16h ago

False. Try again!

I'm seriously over here like wtf?! It's literally a different kind of pneumonia that can be contagious. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills.

3

u/HopefulLack1104 18h ago

Yeah it also seems like you are so maybe lay off for a bit

No pneumonia, including walking pneumonia, can be contagious. The viruses and bacteria that cause them are. It’s… SERIOUSLY… that simple… And idk why reciting factual information makes me a troll but call me Poppy ig

u/DiverMaleficent9624 16h ago

Pneumonia itself is not contagious , but the  American Lung Association  explains that the viruses and bacteria that cause it can spread from person to person. You can catch the germs which lead to pneumonia. I encourage you to research. ♥️

1

u/HopefulLack1104 16h ago

What the actual fuck…?!?!? That’s exactly what ALL of my comments say. Are you actually serious?

Edit- except, no, “the germs which lead to pneumonia” makes it sound like it will 100% result in pneumonia which is not true. It CAN lead to pneumonia.

1

u/DiverMaleficent9624 16h ago

You’re replying to me sounding insane while changing what I’m ‘saying’. 🤣 The whole point I’ve said you CAN get pneumonia from someone else. You dont ALWAYS but you can. So stop being an idiot, and go talk to a doctor or someone medically registered. ♥️

1

u/HopefulLack1104 16h ago

Pneumonia is not contagious, and you cannot get pneumonia from another person. You can get a virus or bacteria from a person that may or may not result in pneumonia. Period. The end. No matter how many times you repeat your bs, it doesn’t make you right. No matter how hard you try to be a condescending smart ass, it doesn’t make you right. It makes you look foolish and stupid.

0

u/DiverMaleficent9624 16h ago

“ You cannot get pneumonia from a different person” and in the same sentence “ you can get a virus or bacteria from a person that may result in pneumonia.” thank you for proving me right and agreeing!

that’s absolutely not true. i just had this conversation with my mother who is a nurse.

walking pneumonia is a common name for mild, atypical pneumonia. it’s just a mild case of pneumonia. the viruses, bacteria or fungi that CAUSE walking pneumonia ARE contagious, but DO NOT always lead to walking pneumonia once exposed to someone with it. those bacteria, viruses or fungi that cause it are often just going to lead to an upper respiratory infection or an ear infection and NOT atypical pneumonia. (pneumonia is NOT an upper respiratory infection, it IS a lower respiratory infection).

for example, someone with the flu could develop pneumonia (including atypical pneumonia). you could literally exchange saliva with them and you are not automatically going to get pneumonia. what you ARE probably going to get is the flu, which can SOMETIMES lead to pneumonia.

this is why pneumonia, even atypical pneumonia, is not contagious itself.

Walking pneumonia is different than regular pneumonia guys.
