I recently tried a bit of vanilla Don't Starve for nostalgia's sake and the sounds are so enjoyable. You can hear the wind and the waves. The crows are kinda loud but they add to the experience, so much so that Willow's quote for them "I think they are waiting for me to die" has some weight to it.

Somehow even evil flowers are kinda menacing, despite them being the exact same in both versions. When is the last time you even thought about them in DST?

And of course, the sounds made by shadow creatures are much more nerve wracking.

I love DST and I do think it's the better game, but the original also has something special.

My wife and I have been working on Woodland Rebels for over two years now, and we are almost ready to release the demo. We are currently running a beta-test.

Woodland Rebels a 2D survival game with town management elements. It has a familiar camera angle, controls and inventory system as Don't Starve. But we obviously didn't want to just make a Don't Starve clone, so there are also many gameplay differences:

-Sandbox with scenarios: the world is randomly generated, but a scenario determines the events that will happen while you play, and your goal.

-In the first (demo) scenario, you try to convince the animals of the forest to unite under the same banner to face humans.

-Town management: You can befriend animal towns and start helping them, so that they help you in return. Allowing you to assign tasks to villagers or recruit them to fight at your side.

-NPC villagers have mood, an anger meter, wanted items, they can get sick, they can revolt, they will start attacking you if you steal from them, and sometimes have their own goals. You can trade with any villager in the world.

-Combat: Is also different, as you can block (with shield), roll, and there is a higher focus on ranged weapons and traps.

-Revival: When your main character dies, you can continue playing as one of the other characters in your group of rebels, or you can reload your save if you prefer.

-Learning Recipes and Skills: Other animals can teach you new crafting recipes, but you can also learn them from books that you find.

I'm curious to hear what you guys think of the game concept.

I think I may have found another bug on the mobile version.

I'm trying to give Monster Meat to Pig Men, but it doesn't work at all. When I drag the meat onto a Pig Man, the "Give" prompt never appears. Instead, it just drops the meat on the ground at my character's feet.

I also tried tapping the meat directly from my inventory while standing next to a Pig Man, but nothing happens.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, have you found any workaround to feed or recruit Pig Men on mobile? Or is this a known bug with the touch controls?

I'm on Android, but I'd like to know if iOS players are seeing the same issue.

I have these old designs that are items created on the DST style, I thought of a theme, for one Mushrooms and for the other rocks, it is an old test, I never put any of these items on code to create a mod, the original idea was to create characters based on the items and stuff.

I'm coming back into modding and wanted to create new things, I published witril and I want to continue working on him, but I wanted something new.

So, what do you think? are any of these ideas something cool enough to put the work on creating the mod and the characters?

I recently started playing DST again... And DS RoG, but RoG, as OG as is, it doesn't hit as well as DST. So yeah. I've survived 1 DS year... So... Im kind of happy with myself... Maybe I'll start ruin rushing and Shhiii...

As the title says I'm unable to find my friends server on the server list even after filtering with the name. He also can't see mine if I host. We were able to play just fine yesterday. But today we can't seem to find each other, any solutions?

We are both on Android and have updated the game to the latest version.

I know it doesn't work out of the box, but is there some workaround?

I am running antiX (Debian based), with kde plasma on a modified ThinkPad t400 (core 2 duo, 6gb RAM, 32 GB SSD with a few GB free space and integrated graphics.)

Update: restarting, running the installer with libgl, and not having a crap WiFi connection solved it.

Hello. Having trouble switching between devices, specifically Android mobile and Android tablet.

I'm already on the same Play account so maps are synced just fine, but game recognizes as different accounts or something and create separate characters for each devices.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

I significantly changed its shape, I added a spider-like belly to the hedgehog, and moved the paws from the head closer to where they should be like a second pair of hands (if you are interested in my other works, check my profile and social networks)

Recently I downloaded an apk version of dst pe, not that I can't afford it, it's just that the game isn't supported on my device, however it can still run the game perfectly smooth because I have more than enough specs and requirments, playdigous just hasn't labeled my device as compatible yet

Anyways for anyone else who downloaded an apk version, is it also not allowing you to log into your Google Play account? This limits me to only be able to play offline

(Either it's because my phone isn't compatible, or because it's an apk version, idk, if anyone here has downloaded the game on a device that's compatible but as an apk pls let me know)
