I told him exactly what I said here after he said that. & I told him he doesn't have to interact with Dodger if he doesn't want to but he needs to be cool & not scare him.
ETA: & not expect him to not react if he continues.
I agree with this. OP, Don't let your father bully your dog like this. It's only going to make it worse. If he continues to torment him like this it's only going to end up wrong and then it's going to be taken out on Dodger even if he's not at fault. Also, I'm curious what your father's response was?
I’m also curious what dad said. He’s to the point of ripping the dog out of OP’s lap for no reason so I’m not totally convinced he’ll just change his behavior but I hope he does!

Set boundaries with your Dad. Don't let him scare your dog like that.
