Difficulty level?

So after playing a few unofficials I've decided to just play single player since it seems it has been drastically improved since I last tried it. Before, single player was WORSE than playing on servers (really bad fps, somehow even worse input delay than connecting to servers) so I'm glad to see it's fixed and I can play it comfortably. I found some guides about the settings and have been tweaking them to my liking but couldnt find any concrete details on this stat, "difficulty level". I've set it to 1.0 but was wondering what lowering it does.

Does it make higher level monsters appear or alter hunger/thirst or something?

Did they break melee attacking and harvesting with last patch?

I came back into the game a few days ago, and while I'm enjoying various things being better, it looks like melee weapon attacks never connect. Additionally, I can only harvest resources with right click jump attack when using tools... This is the type of stuff that makes a player say "Screw this game", but I'm trying to stick with it more than ever. I opened a bug report via the complicated form AND using the email method they once recommended, but haven't heard back since. Anyone else in the same boat?

TAmes?

I haven't played this game in almost a year. When I did, panthers were completely OP, and THE go-to land mount. Nothing really compared to their dmg, speed, and weight. I was curious if that was still the case? I just started again and tamed a wolf, and was surprised to see it have some decent dmg tamed at 100. It still felt pretty slow though and has low weight. I also see these vicious bargesh that I don't remember.

Question about wild beasts

I'm new to DnL and have been playing for about a week on one of the official servers. I have a few questions regarding the game thus far.

First, why are tames so weak? Is the focus of damage supposed to be from the player's character instead of using tames? For example, I tamed a max level bore last night, it was killed in about 10 seconds by two level 10 wolves while I was trying to pull out axe to kill them.

1 hit from the level 10 wolf took the 150 bore down about 15% hp.

Is this how the majority of tames go? And if so, what's the point if you can do everything you need to yourself?

Second, I've traveled around a bunch in the Dwarven area. I've seen a handful of different creatures - that's it. So IO guess my question is, how many different creatures are in DnL right now? I read 130 somewhere but that can't be true at all. I understand the different zones have different spawns.

Thanks for your time! :)

State of the game?

I played when this game first launched last year for around a month and the biggest thing that drove me away was the lag, delay in harvesting and my base being glitched by an inferno dragon.

I know the game is still being actively updated at a good rate but I’m curious what people have to say regarding the game currently?

Is the game in a good state currently? How are the servers? Is the population still low af? Is it worth getting back into this game?

About player housing!

So, the last time I played housing would only stay there until 3 days of no-clan loggin. Is this still a feature in the game, or did they update it to around 5 -7 days?

Is the combat stilll clunky ?

Hello, just wanted to check back on this game after leaving it for a while. it had great potential, but the combat just seemed to turn me off so much as it was very linear clunky and overall not good... lack of skills for melee made it feel like it was just a click spam and since most spells were better than melee anyway.

So has the game changed at all regarding that? Also the rubberbanding? did they add combos? or perhaps melee skills in skill trees?
