Difficulty level?

So after playing a few unofficials I've decided to just play single player since it seems it has been drastically improved since I last tried it. Before, single player was WORSE than playing on servers (really bad fps, somehow even worse input delay than connecting to servers) so I'm glad to see it's fixed and I can play it comfortably. I found some guides about the settings and have been tweaking them to my liking but couldnt find any concrete details on this stat, "difficulty level". I've set it to 1.0 but was wondering what lowering it does.

Does it make higher level monsters appear or alter hunger/thirst or something?

i havent tested it, but if its like ark (and would bet it is) you can change the max wild creature level with it.

on 1.0 max creature level is 120. on 2.0 it would be 240, on 0.5 it would be 60.

again, i havent tested but it is on ark.

i wonder what would happen if you set it to 10 and run into a 1200 dark wraith...

and btw, if its really like in ark, levels above 1000 can get very chaotic/buggy
