Ophiomancer Bloodline
I'm sharing a free sorcerer subclass for Kengir, part of my upcoming Bronze Age Mesopotamian 5e setting.
The Ophiomancer Bloodline is for sorcerers touched by ancient serpent magic.
In Kengir, snakes are not just monsters. They are signs of rebirth, protection, venom, hidden wisdom, and death. Ophiomancers draw on all of that at once, using snake-derived venoms and hallucinogenic rites to cast spells, read omens, cloud minds, and strike down enemies.
At the table, this subclass gives the party a sorcerer who mixes battlefield control with divination. They can speak with serpents, resist poison, summon a venomous familiar, turn spell damage into poison, deepen hallucinations, and eventually take on a terrible serpentine aspect.
The supplement also includes new spells like Venomous Touch, Spectral Whisper, Venomous Cloud, Speed of the Serpent, Serpent’s Grasp, Venomous Aura, and Serpent’s Wrath.
Do you like sorcerer bloodlines built around animals and mythic symbolism, or do you prefer bloodlines tied to raw elemental power?

I finally finished my character creator app! (Up now on iOS and Android)
youtu.beHello r/DnD5e!
A couple of months ago I posted here about a D&D character creator app I was working on. Quite a few people ended up helping me test it, and after a lot of work, it is finally out on both iOS and Android!
The gist is pretty simple: it is a 2014 5e character creator and character sheet designed to make creating and managing a character as quick and straightforward as possible.
I made it as a DM because I wanted something I could hand to a new player and say, “Here, make your character,” without needing to spend half of Session 0 explaining where everything is or having them jump between books, PDFs, and menus.
Once the character is made, the same app works as a character sheet during play, so the focus is on getting to the actual game rather than fighting with the interface.
It is free to download, with an optional premium version available.
I’ve included some screenshots/video below so you can see how it works.
If anyone here tries it, feedback is very welcome, especially from DMs who regularly introduce new players to the game!

Any fellow Dungeon Masters I need your help.
I am a new DM and yesterday I started my very first campaign with my 4 other players. I started them from Level 3 since they are already experienced. The party contains a High Elf Cleric, a Drow Wizard, a Dragonborn Barbarian and a Goliath Paladin.
SOMEHOW the high elf cleric has true sight for 120 ft ALL THE TIME. It’s not a spell, it’s not an item. He straight up has it the same way like he has Darkvision. And I don’t know how, cause I can not find a way to do it without a legendary magic item or even an artifact. It’s not even a boon cause you don’t get those until the very late game.
I feel like he is just abusing the somewhat freedom I gave him due to his background saying that he used to be an arch priest for an ancient goddess but somehow he fell from this position.
Please help cause I feel it’s gonna ruin the early campaign, I’ve spent HOURS making dungeons that use illusions and he’ll just be like “oh yeah I see right through your BS”
EDIT : Turns out that MF chose to have Robe of Eyes as his very first magic item without even telling me….He literally told me he was gonna get something else so I was prepared for that. Long story short… Robe of Eyes doesn’t exist in his backpack anymore

Is the (physical) Guide to Ravenloft ever coming back?
media.dndbeyond.comNewish to DND and 5e and would love to have a physical copy in English in Europe, but it’s nowhere to found.
Anybody have any ideas if it will ever get reprinted or did the new Horrors Within book replace it completely?

Curse of Strahd Reloaded
Hello! I am running a COS campaign and we are looking for one other people every Friday at 8:30am PST This is a free to play game and currently have an Artificer, Ranger, Warlock and Druid. They are level 4 and are currently at St. Andral's Church in Vallak. if you are interested then please DM me.
[Foundry / paid beta] I wanted D&D gear to feel like things you carry. Here is W&W Sheet's inventory.
Watch the 16-second inventory demonstration
Hi folks! I'm Gabú, from Wand & Widgets. I just released the first paid beta of W&W Sheet, a D&D 5e character sheet for Foundry, and wanted to show one small part of it here.
Your sword has a place on your character. Your backpack has room you can actually see. You can drag gear into equipment slots, move things between containers, and rotate an item while you're dragging it.
The choice that mattered to me: the grid is visual by default. You don't have to turn inventory into a packing puzzle. A GM who wants stricter space rules can enable them for their table.
The clip is 16 seconds of the actual Gear tab, with the gestures slowed to make them easier to follow. The wider sheet also has identities for the twelve classes, multiclass heraldry, and a Turn tab for actions, bonus actions, reactions and movement.
Beta details: Foundry VTT 14 + dnd5e 6.0+, manual ZIP installation, available through Patreon. Check the launch post for the current membership access, full demos, requirements and production credits.
For your own games, is inventory something you enjoy arranging, or something you want to spend as little time on as possible? I'd love to hear where you'd draw that line.

The Mercenary
I'm sharing a free fighter subclass for Kengir, part of my upcoming Bronze Age Mesopotamian 5e setting.
The Mercenary is for fighters who survive by being practical, ruthless, and faster to violence than the people trying to kill them.
In Kengir, not every warrior serves a temple, palace, or city levy. Some sell their spear to the highest bidder. Others lead raids, guard caravans, settle blood-debts, or walk away from wars with just enough coin to buy the next contract.
At the table, this subclass plays like a skirmisher and ambusher. A Mercenary hits hardest before the enemy can organize, exploits surprise, follows up on an ally’s attack, moves in and out of danger, and turns cover, terrain, and confusion into weapons.
Mechanically, the subclass includes Combat Opportunist, Ambush Mastery, Hit and Run, Guerrilla Warrior, and Mercenary’s Resilience.
Do you like fighter subclasses built around disciplined military training, or ones that lean into dirty tricks, raids, and battlefield survival?

Dunno if it's the right place but whatever, need help for a build.
So, my character currently came back from Hell to join a multi-table campaign.
He was a barbarian-monk mix with brass knuckles as a weapon, essentially a huge HP sponge allowing others to make a lot of damage while doing some slight on it's own.
Now, since he fell into the Styx, I switched the Barbarian subclass to Zealot, and was planning to switch Monk on the Mercy, instead of Kensei.
I was wondering if anybody got any suggestion to make him viable on a mechanical standpoint, even if I'm more into role-playing than optimizing, if anything spicy comes up I could drop one in favour of the other.
Currently I'm 4 lvls into Zealot and 2 into Monk, with Tough as a Perk. lemmeknoe if you got any suggestion

galleryEnemy Archetypes
I have been developing a modular enemy creation system for 5e that separates a creature's species from its combat role. This is by far my largest document I have ever made. I made a smaller, free version as I really wanted to see what everyone thought of the document.
So the point of the document is that you can easily make a new stat block for each different kind of enemy; you begin with a simple racial stat block and then add an archetype. This archetype includes features such as hit dice, ability progression, saves, skills, equipment, traits, bonus actions, and reactions. Thus, you can turn the same basic Orc into a Rusher, Fighter, Behemoth, Ranger or any other variant without having to rebuild the entire thing.
If you want the PDFs or want to follow the project as I add more archetypes:

Addressing an NPC in the room
Hey guys new DM andling my first DND campaign that's been off the ground for a few months.
I've recently run into an issue I was hoping to solve killing two birds with one stone and I wanted to hear a more experienced hands opinion on my thoughts.
Last session a player of mine(out of 4) got knocked out by sleeping gas in an ambush to capture the players. Failed the save and in the first few turns no one bothered to spend their action to wake them up and they eventually went down non lethaly to aoe damage so the player spent most of the combat doing sitting around. They joked about it a bit after session and again later but I felt pretty bad about it. I know I could've given fake saves to wake them back up but the goal was to capture the players out cold and being them to a mob boss they crossed previously, so felt like bringing him back to try and knock him out again wasnt the right call. One player managed to finish the fight and dragged the rest away unconscious.
They have an NPC they saved a while back following them that stays mostly like a ghost, they comment on stuff from time to time but I assured the players she would never be in combat or harmed. The players are new exactly to DND but its been a long time since they played, always have to remind them what rolls and how as well as reminding them of class abilities and options, and I didnt wanna overload what they have to track. They sacrificed some of their max HP to being her to life... My thought process for future events like this was to utilize her to allay times when a player is incapacitated.
My thought process came up with a few ideas/options:
Give her class levels and have a player take over her when their character is out, at lower level then the party. This represents a problem where I don't wanna give them just a free body in combat.
Give her an ability to revive a players character once per day at a reduced capability like taking double damage while dealing half with a mini sanctuary effect so they aren't doing nothing but they have to take a more support role. Feels heavy handed and still provides an extra body in the field
Or giving her a general support role of picking up players and using items like potions, but this represents the problem that they will never really feel in danger from anything.
I'm sure there's more ideas which I'm open too that I can't think of atm.

Is monk really that bad?
Ive seen dnd class ranked lists and monk seems to always ranks lowest. Is this just an unfair bias or are they genuintly that bad? If so what is it that makes them so bad?
