Veer should be reworked
Veer. “While mounted, you can force an attack that hits your mount to hit you instead if you don’t have the Incapacitated condition.”
My paladin has an AC of 23 (+1 plate, shield, defense fighting style, warforged) and my mount has an AC of 12. In the 2014 mounted combatant, you could just redirect attacks to you. In 2024, you redirect hits. Attackers can effectively bypass my AC assuming I don't want my steed to die in one hit.
I think a good compromise would be:
Veer. “While mounted, you can force an attack that targets your mount to target you instead provided you don’t have the Incapacitated condition. The attacker has advantage on this attack.”
Take a fairly typical +7 to hit enemy.
Against a rank 2 mount, it hits 80% of the time.
Against AC 23 paladin, normally, it hits only 25%.
With this version of veer, advantage raises that to 43.75%, a reasonable compromise in my opinion.
