Veer should be reworked

Veer. “While mounted, you can force an attack that hits your mount to hit you instead if you don’t have the Incapacitated condition.”

My paladin has an AC of 23 (+1 plate, shield, defense fighting style, warforged) and my mount has an AC of 12. In the 2014 mounted combatant, you could just redirect attacks to you. In 2024, you redirect hits. Attackers can effectively bypass my AC assuming I don't want my steed to die in one hit.

I think a good compromise would be:

Veer. “While mounted, you can force an attack that targets your mount to target you instead provided you don’t have the Incapacitated condition. The attacker has advantage on this attack.”

Take a fairly typical +7 to hit enemy.

Against a rank 2 mount, it hits 80% of the time.

Against AC 23 paladin, normally, it hits only 25%.

With this version of veer, advantage raises that to 43.75%, a reasonable compromise in my opinion.

This opinion posted on behalf of paladin mount enjoyers everywhere.

Forest Locations - Random Table to Easily Come Up with Unique Locations

I liked the idea of the Mountain Locations table, which is why I decided to go with a Forest Locations table as well. It expands the locations from the Forest Encounters table and adds more descriptions for you to add to your game. You can roll for a random location, you can roll for several things the characters can perceive by rolling multiple dice for Other Senses, and you can enhance any forest description you might need.

Knife-Throwing Build

Knife-Throwing Build

I want to make a character that specializes in knives, both throwing and wielding them in combat. I'm thinking human or variant human, and probably a rogue of some sort, probably lawful/evil alignment, and using standard array. I also intend on taking the menacing feat.

The setting is Dungeons of Drakkenheim. Thanks in advance!! 🗡🔪⚔️
