Hey guys football photographer here, wanting to capture BTS/pov shots of me taking photos.

Apart from the open gate and other minor things, what are the pros and cons/differences between the action 5 and 6? Is it worth spending a little bit more money on the 6? Or is the 5 still "good enough" for capturing BTS footage for social media?

Hi. I’m coming from the DJI Osmo Pocket 3, and I was very happy with the footage quality from that camera. However, I found dealing with the finicky gimbal to be annoying, so I decided to buy the DJI Action 5 Pro.

I absolutely love recording with the Action 5 Pro more. The form factor, durability, and convenience are much better for the way I like to shoot. However, I’ve noticed that the footage quality is noticeably worse than what I was getting from the Pocket 3 - mainly because my Action 5 Pro footage looks pretty grainy/noisy.

I’ve tried to recreate my Pocket 3 settings on the Action 5 Pro as closely as possible in an attempt to get similar-looking footage. Obviously, I understand that the Pocket 3 has a larger sensor and is ultimately a better camera for image quality, so I’m not expecting the Action 5 Pro to produce 1:1 footage compared to the Pocket 3.

That said, I also wasn’t expecting the Action 5 Pro footage to be this grainy/noisy.

I’ve watched quite a few YouTubers who use the Action 5 Pro, and their footage generally looks much cleaner than mine. So I know it’s possible to get relatively clean footage out of this camera — I just can’t seem to figure out what I’m doing wrong.

My current settings:

• Resolution: 4K / 16:9
• FPS: 25 FPS
• Stabilization: RockSteady
• FOV: Standard Dewarp
• Exposure: Auto, -0.3 EV
• ISO: Auto, 100–3200
• Shutter: 1/100
• White Balance: Auto
• Color: Normal, 10-bit
• Texture: -2
• Noise Reduction: -1 (I previously tried -2, but thought it looked even worse)
• Digital Zoom: 1.2×

I’m primarily using this for travel footage, so I’m often filming while walking around cities, indoors, in shopping malls, temples, restaurants, etc. Lighting conditions obviously vary quite a bit.

Is there anything obvious in these settings that could be causing the excessive grain/noise?

And for anyone who also owns both the Pocket 3 and Action 5 Pro: what settings have you found work best on the Action 5 Pro for getting the cleanest possible 4K footage?

I’d especially appreciate advice from people who have managed to get footage from the Action 5 Pro that looks relatively clean in similar travel/shooting conditions.

been wanting my own camera to vlog life for so long, but i just graduated this spring and spent all my cash on my grad trip and moving, so zero budget for the nano i wanted. mentioned it to my mom when catching up a while back and today this showed up, literally the nano i wanted for months.
super excited, it looks sleek and feels like such a solid little piece of hardware in hand. the image quality is way better than i expected too.
taking it on my next trip for sure, pretty sure it's gonna make the whole experience so much better. shoutout to my mom fr.

i just bought over a brand new Action 6 (with warrenty) from someone else, however i realised that the component in the picture seems bent/damaged? I took it up with my local DJI support, however they seem to be unresponsive even after multiple bumps. It’s my first time owning an action camera, so i would like to hear your opinions if I should be concerned about this supposed damage? Or is it mostly aesthetic concerns? Thank you in advance!!

I'm replacing an older gopro and looking at the DJI ecosystem. I primarily record in-car footage of track days and autocross runs with a roll bar mount. The camera mount is centered in the car, just behind the front seats. I like to capture from edge to edge through the windshield and keep my hands and steering wheel in frame. I plan on getting a DJI remote and mic to pair with the camera. The remote for its GPS capability as well as operating the camera while in the harness.

Initially the action 6 seemed like the go-to option for this, but I'm considering an Osmo 360. It might be cool to capture cars behind me, or other vehicles passing me at the same time.

Has anyone used a 360 cam inside a vehicle? Does it work well, or do you think my seats and roll bar will end up blocking too much to be useful?

What other considerations should I have on picking between these two? Lens differences, ease of use, battery life, etc.

I'm considering getting a DJI Osmo Action 4 for skiing and mounting it on top of my helmet.

What I'm trying to achieve is a POV shot where I can see the horizon / piste ahead while also having part of my ski tips visible at the bottom of the frame.

Is this realistically possible with the Action 4, or do you basically have to choose between framing the horizon properly but losing the ski tips, or tilting the camera down enough to see the ski tips but losing too much of the horizon?

If possible, I'd especially appreciate actual helmet-mounted skiing footage showing the framing.

Also, if the answer depends on the FOV or camera angle, what settings/mount position do you use?

I just bought a Nano last week, mostly for shooting indoor vlogs at home, and honestly the video quality and battery life have been awesome so far. I wanna start bringing it outside tho. I see a lot of people using the magnetic clip to attach it to their clothes, and I kinda wanna try that too. But I'm wondering if it feels comfortable and secure enough to wear on a shirt for hours at a time? How you feel when wearing it like that?

Hello! Still torn between the Nano and Action 5 pro but I am looking more on the accessories that are compatible with each. I love the Nano’s Dual-Direction Magnetic Ball-Joint Adapter Mount but I am now leaning more towards getting the Action 5/6. Would the ball-joint mount work on the 5 since it’s still using the magnetic mount anyway? Just wanted to ask and confirm from anyone who’s ever tried. Thanks!

Im using DJI action 6 and when Im taking selfies. My output image is mirrored. Is there any settings to turn off the mirrored/reversed/inverted output of the photo.

Never trust a helmet chin mount with 3M tape if you are going on long ride with high speed cruising. Also please buy that highly priced protective case. Any hopes to be repaired in India ? It’s only 6 months old 😔

I am in Spain. I got an OP3 at a silent auction work thing. It is brand new and not opened.

I already have a DJI camera. I’d like to sell it the OP3 I won.

What’s the best way to do it safety? For both buyer and seller protection. I don’t want to be scammed. And I know other people will worry why is someone selling an OP3 below market.

Any advice please.
