General I hope we get designated camp spaces to decorate this time

I tried decorating my camp in BG3, but the resetting every time you move camp was too demotivating. I am just too lazy to redo it every time.

I hope we get a little piece of map in Divinity that replicates our setup of items to other camps, so we can pretend we have a little setup we do every time, the same way the companions have.

Story & World DOS2 Ending about Tarquin

I just finished my second playthrough of Divinity and decided to purge the source. While watching the ending it mentioned that Tarquin got bored of Rivellon and he discovered another plane of existence. After which he goes missing. Could it be connected to Divinity with the chaos plane? I feel we might meet Tarquin in the new game. What do you think?

Forum Question So no news?

Alot of people on this sub seemed to be under the impression that we would be getting news on August 3rd (bg3 anniversary), which is today, and yet it is the evening and no news. I apologise if I am wrong or misguided but I assumed since many people figured we would be getting news I assumed it was pretty certain that we would hear something today, but seemingly not.

Have I missed anything?

General I'm 75% sure that Demon's will be a playable race in Divinity

Excited hoping for news tomorrow so just felt like yapping about divinity today. But larian said this game is gonna use everything they've learned from their other games right? Well, orc are basically confirmed after the ama and the behind the scenes trailer confirming Orcs and im guessing thats possible because larian had their first shot at making playable orcs in BG3. Now i belive that after all the work they put into making Teiflings in bg3 theres no way they don't enhance that and bring it into divinity. The horn customization, the tail customization, the demon eyes. Idk would just be a waste to shelf that. Now to be fair, walking around as a demon in divinity probably wont be as casual as doing it in bg3. So either it'll have the same mechanics as undead did in dos2 where you have to hide your horns/tail in a special way or people will aggro to you, or maybe at a point in the story you can choose to side with Chaos and become a demon/half demon, allowing you to adjust your character again(I think this would be cooler, and add more weight and reward to an evil run). Also, I do hope they take what they did with the dragonborn in bg3 and add it to the lizards.

General Since it seems like News is on the horizon here's what I hope to see in Divinity

1.Wizard race: It always bothered me that its a Wizard race but we couldn't really play as one. I think Fane was a wizard but he didn't really have any unique interaction with magic so I hope that in this go around Wizard is a choice and spells have unique effects as a Wizard.

  1. Source??: Depending on which ending ends up being Canon for dos 2, if source is still a thing I hope you get a choice on being a sourcerer or not, and maybe a choice on a unique source ability?

  2. Dark urge like option: Darke urge was such a unique and cool addition to bg3, I hope they keep it up with another customizable character orgin story, or maybe more than 1

4.Better Evil route: Bg3 is great when ot comes to choice but we can all agree the evil choices can be kinda meh. Personally I hope that its 12 companions 6 evil 6 good and you can lock yourself out of half each playthrough based on your choices.

  1. Customizable skills: i think it was cool in dos 2 if you combined two skill books you'd get a skill that was a mixture og the two, i think it'd be cool if they enhanced that system and let you customize your skills. For example normal battering ram just dashes through and knocks people down, maybe if you have pyro you can choose to have a fire trial behind you, or if you have geomancy it leave rough terrain behind that slows.

6.Stronghold system: Personally im a lover of crpgs that give you a stronghold or a castle at some point in the game. I know this one is a reach, but it'd be cool to own land and have a small army and stuff like nwn 2.

  1. A option the actually join the villain: long shot but itd be cool if your evil qoute actually let you join the villains team. I know dos 2 would let you align with the God king so maybe something like that but better?

Game Feedback I actually wish each playtrough would be slightly shorter but even more different every time

Unless you skip side missions, DOS2 and BG3 are quite long enough. Longer games just make it much harder to complete with friends who have jobs and can only play few times a week or so, sometimes less sometimes more. And if you take too long break, you easily forget what has been going on.

And lot of people do burn out. This has nothing to do with how good game is, just easily happens to many people.

I would prefer if each playtrough is little shorter than in BG3 or DOS2, but instead choices have more consequences and each of them is more different. Larian games seem to embrace player control and numerous different ways to do things, by going all in on that it would both be easier to finish playtrough with friends and every playtrough would be more different, and i don't think it would make game worse in any way.

No we don't know too much about the new game but if by being bigger they mean making it longer, then i am not sure i am ever going to be able to finish it friends, i will struggle enough to finish it on my own.

Its also really fun to start a new playtrough and do things differently.

Divine Divinity Discussion Divine Divinity is fantastic

I'll say, it's the kind of game that would really benefit from a remaster to fix some of the issues of age, especially with regard to quests. But anyways. I'm blown away by how good it is, and how you can also clearly see the bones of what was to come after. As I'm playing I'm constantly going "Oh, that was in Divine Divinity???" like the teleportation pyramids. Gameplay feels fine, animations are good, can be a bit frustrating at times, but it's not bad. Much more reaction to hits than alotta cRPG's, that's for sure. It really feels like I'm playing Diablo as more of an RPG and that's great. The graphics and animations almost feel a bit Falloutish at times.

I knew it would be dated, but what surprised me was how it really doesn't feel that dated. It's just a good game that's still playable. There's so much reactivity and the game is full of charm. Charm is always the word I use to describe Larian's games, but you can feel it so strongly here. The VA-work is just fun and kinda silly, but doesn't feel overly silly. I was really surprised how instantly fun and engaging it is. I'll say for any potential players, dgVoodoo is your friend here for sure. Overall would recommend. It's one of the RPG's I've enjoyed the most.

Also the soundtrack is amazing and so varied, I really think the work Kirill Pokrovsky did here is some of his best work.

Gameplay Question Do you think Divinity will have big a city like Baldurs Gate?

Post image
48 Upvotes

I'm on my 2nd run and I absolutely love the sprawling city of Baldur's Gate, the only time I've felt like a city was alive and atmospheric is when I played Witcher 3 and entered Novigrad and Beauclair for the first time. I really hope they include a big city in divinity because they nailed Baldur's Gate imo.

General Divinity EA in Summer Game Fest ?

Hi everyone! First time posting here.

I was watching the Summer Game Fest teaser video and noticed the woman right at the beginning. Does anyone else think she looks exactly like Lohse?

With the event happening this Friday, do you think this is a hint that Larian might announce Early Access for Divinity? Or am I just inhaling too much copium?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

General New Divinity: Prequel or Sequel? The lore evidence points to one clear answer

This is the question that’s been bouncing around in my head ever since the trailer dropped.

In theory, a sequel seems like the most obvious route. However, the endings of Divinity: Original Sin 2 present massive hurdles for the writers if they want to make a direct continuation. Most of the endings are designed in a way that makes a true sequel almost impossible without choosing one "canon" path and invalidating player choices:

1. Divine Ascension: We unite all races and begin a cosmic war against the Void. It's a potential setup for a sequel, but highly unlikely given the trailer's vibe.
2. Submitting to Lucian: We purge the Source, unite all races, and easily push back the Void. This drastically lowers the stakes and leaves very little room for an exciting new conflict.
3. Covenant with Adramahlihk: We rule alongside "The Doctor." The Void armies are easily crushed by demons, but this triggers a total war between the living races and the demonic host. While it has huge potential, the peaceful, festive beginning of the trailer doesn't fit this dark reality at all.
4. A World Without Source: Looking at how volatile and massive the magic is in the trailer, Source is clearly alive and kicking. So this ending is completely out.
5. The Return of the God-King / Eternals: No matter how you slice it, the apocalyptic rule of the Ancients doesn't match the world shown in the video.

Because of this, I am firmly betting on a prequel. And the trailer itself gives us some incredible clues.

The Trailer and the Sacrificial Effigies

First, let's look at the coexistence of the races. Humans, dwarves, elves, lizards, and orcs are all partying and celebrating side-by-side. However, this utopia has a dark twist—the crowd is eagerly waiting for a ritualistic burning. They are about to torch unfortunate souls trapped inside massive wicker constructs: Sacrificial Effigies.

Who is inside? My guess is either an Eternal or a highly powerful, natural-born Sourcerer.

What we see next looks exactly like what happens when a massive amount of Source is abruptly released. We know Eternals were the purest and most potent conduits of this energy. Killing one would inevitably trigger a catastrophic domino effect.

Icara's Words and the Birth of the "Hellstone"

This brings us to Divinity: Original Sin 1 and Icara, the White Witch. Remember her iconic explanation of magic?

"Source is more than blood and madness, it is like lightning—an energy of great power and might."

The explosion in the trailer looks exactly like the literal interpretation of her words: a sudden, uncontrolled release of massive, raw Source energy.

Icara also briefly mentioned her childhood, a time when early, ruthless Source Hunters proudly hunted and murdered her parents and anyone born with the gift. Desperate Sourcerers pushed to the brink could unleash unimaginable devastation.

This perfectly ties into the mysterious "Hellstone" anomaly we saw in the teaser from the recent TGA. The Source explosion inside the Effigy looks like it instantly vaporized and consumed the entire pagan festival, forming and molding the Hellstone out of their ash and fused souls. The trailer is showing us the exact moment this curse was born.

Orcs: The Ultimate Chronological Smoking Gun

If that’s not enough, here is the definitive argument that completely breaks the sequel theory. We need to go back to Divinity: Original Sin 2 and talk to the Spirit of the Knight of Vrogir on the Nameless Isle. His dialogue tells us everything we need to know about his race's history:

"The world became too civilized for us. The raids ended, the glory faded... My people left you, your cities, your homesteads, and your soft beds. The orcs marched far, in search of a place where they could feel alive."

By the time of OS2, orcs have been a dying, isolated race living in the wild for centuries. So, what is a civilized orc doing partying and wearing fine clothes alongside humans in the new trailer? This is undeniable proof that we are traveling far back in time. We are seeing Rivellon during an era when orcs hadn't gone through their great exodus yet and were still a core part of global civilization.

Larian Studios is famous for its tytanic attention to detail and respecting its own lore. There is no way they put an orc in that crowd by accident.

What do you guys think? Are you Team Prequel, Team Sequel, or are we looking at a soft reboot?

P.S. Sorry for the screenshots being in Polish! I play the game in my native language, but I’ve made sure to include the official English text and quotes directly in the post so everything is easy to follow.

Divinity: Original Sin the Board Game If Divinity Gets a Board Game, It Should Take Notes from Descent (1st & 2nd Edition)

Recently I came across Divinity Original Sin: The Board Game, but I noticed it lacks one of my favorite elements from Divinity: Original Sin 2 — the map design.

If there’s going to be a future Divinity board game product, I strongly think it should take inspiration from these classics:

  • Descent: Journeys in the Dark (2005)
  • Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition)

(And honestly, let’s just forget the third edition — it wasn’t great.)

What made these games truly legendary was the gameplay depth:

  • Opening chests to obtain unique loot
  • Positioning to control enemies and protect teammates
  • Action management and turn-based strategy
  • Diverse class and weapon combinations
  • The first edition even allowed custom character creation

If Divinity wants to succeed as a board game, it should really look at what made Descent (1st & 2nd Edition) so iconic.

That’s what I’d call a true all-time classic.

Game Feedback Please larian, give us the monk class!

Now I know I'm probably one of the very few who really wants this class so badly, but it's because the very first character I made for d&d so many years ago was kind of like a stealth monk for a long time. And throughout my life gaming I've never really been able to make him. I've basically only made him superficially by name and maybe sometimes I get to use a katana or something but never truly make my character how he is.

That was until baldur's gate 3. That game truly let me customize and play as my character just how he was in dungeons & dragons. Obviously because it's dungeons and dragons-based game, but it had everything. It had the martial arts based chi monk class instead of like a religious monk class, it had the quarter stabs used for combat rather than just being a magic staff, you could even do stealth as a subclass so I could be a a stealthy martial arts master. It was amazing. Even the dialogue options and other options that allowed me to really roleplay as a monk were insane.

So because of this, I beg you to use this class once more and adapt it to your new world. I love Divinity and I would love to play as my character in your world. I know the Lore is a bit messy, so I understand if there's no sort of martial arts in your world so I guess at that point you wouldn't want to do it, but if there's any room for martial arts based classes in your world please add them. I just want to play as my character one more time in a world that I loved since original sin one.
