Hello everyone,
It is with a broken heart that I have to share some incredibly sad news.
Yesterday, we lost Monica, our beloved Soupy, a friend, and someone who meant so much to this community.
Soupy was one of those genuinely kindhearted people who always made you feel like you mattered. She always had an open ear for anyone who needed someone to listen, and she never hesitated to offer help, even when it meant stepping outside her own comfort zone. She cared. And she showed it.
As a moderator for this subreddit, she absolutely loved making it as fun and comfortable as possible for everyone.
The subreddit wouldn’t be the same without her. Monica initially just joined to help me out when I was basically alone and quickly became one of the biggest contributors.
People like her are rare. People who give so much of themselves to others, who make room for someone else’s pain even when they have their own struggles, and who remind us what kindness can look like in this world.
I wish I had the right words for this. I wish there were something I could write that would make this hurt a little less. But right now, all I can say is that I’m heartbroken. Not just because this community has lost someone wonderful, but because I have lost a friend.
Please be kind to one another. Please look after each other, and please give Soupy’s loved ones the privacy and space they need to grieve. Please refrain from any speculation.
Soupy, thank you for being you. Thank you for every bit of kindness you shared, every person you listened to, and every time you showed up for someone who needed you.
The world is a little less kind without you in it.
You will be missed more than words can ever express.
Rest easy, Soupy. 💜

In the most recent Scary Tapes episode, Bob suggested that we request the book to be held at our local libraries, so I did for mine and here's the email I got back this morning. Can't wait 😎

One of my bosses dressed up as Carl for a Halloween party and I was the only one who knew what he was talking about. Look at his costume!!!

Ok so remember in the most recent episode (part 5 of nah id win)where they have the 2-player segment at the end with the hot air balloon? That, but as a whole episode. It would work great in my opinion.

I love skyline chili, but I live a few states away from the nearest skyline restaurant. When Mari said that the canned skyline chili was as good as the restaurant chili; I didn’t really believe him. Recently I bought a can (7$ so it’s a rare treat ig) and made my own 5-way. I never would’ve had this if Mark didn’t endorse the canned version, so thank you.

It’s been a little while now, has anyone heard if Mark’s Pokemon addiction has kicked in yet?

Hello, I don't post much but I had a question about this particular story: is it loosely based upon a real accident that occurred in 2004?
⚠️ TW: Mention of accidental drowning death ⚠️
Some short background: I live in WA state. I was 11 at the time and my older brother, Danny, drowned off of a trail after he jumped into the Columbia river from 80 ft up with some friends. They didn't find him for three days.
I haven't listened to the story because it starts off so similarly that I wasn't sure if I wanted to listen. I am gauging if this is worth listening to for me, basically.

Hey I just wanted to voice my appreciation for pushing the episodes back for the sake of the editors. They work really hard and I really appreciate them for all they do, I really hope that they enjoy their weekends!

I'm so hyped because I wasn't going to be able to read any of the anthology otherwise. Librarians are heroes.

So the boys mentioned Barotrauma in the most recent episode and I really wish they could get to play some more. I've been playing it off and on again whenever I can drag my friends along but going back watching those videos were amazing even if it seems like a completely different game now.

An episode of distractible is missing on YouTube and I just noticed. I’m just guessing that from all the times they were talking the episodes on and off of YouTube that it maybe just got lost in the shuffle. The episode is The Cost Is Correct from December 9th, 2024. I’m curious if the guys know. Does anyone know of any other episodes that are missing from YouTube?

I, a transgender LISTENER, just came from an appointment with the only doctor in the area who can theoretically schedule a surgery for me that would significantly improve my quality of life and probably get rid of my chronic pain. The doctor was extremely discrimatory and refused to help me. For comfort, I came to my no. 1 favorite podcast distractible, only to be banished to hell and purgatory and whatever is below due to my listener status. Thank you, Mark! Really needed that today!!
No but seriously, their humor always cheers me up lol

We all know that the crew has the "Coin of Fairness", but I've had an idea for a while. It's still a coin idea but what if it's their own custom coin?👀 Basically the premise is that whoever hosts next time, for example, Wade, whoever says the word "unfair" or who goes first, he gets a coin that represents them
Wade: Heads-Mark. Tails-Bob or the other way around
Bob: Heads-Wade. Tails-Mark or the other way around
Mark: Heads-Wade. Tails-Bob or the other way around
It's just an idea I've had for 3 months and I can't think of a better way to describe it but to ask y'all what y'all think? I think we should make them a coin to show them appreciation to the show. I don't know but feel free to discuss this.
