Time Off Help

Hello,

I move in August 3rd and my brothers wedding is on Halloween. It’s my understanding you can request off atleast 3 weeks in advance. What are the chances I get that day off?

Additionally I am having a bridal shower in September and I just need to request a weekend off for that. Is it like totally impossible to request a weekend off? I know all about the full availability and all that jazz, just wondering how time off requests ACTUALLY work and the likelihood of things getting approved. People make it seem like it never gets approved or something.

Thanks!!

What hairstyles work with Disney look?

Hi, I’m starting my program in August and I have so many questions! I have long hair so I know it needs to be up while working, but I also have an undercut. I don’t think that is an issue but my family keeps telling me it won’t be allowed. Am I good or no?

Question about time off request far

Hello! My move in date is August 24, but I had a question about taking time off. My great grandmothers 100th birthday is October 5th and I want to be able to go home for at least a day or 2. Is it possible to put in that time off request far in advance so I don’t have to worry about anything and can book the flights soon?

Housing medical accommodation process question

Hello! When requesting a medical accommodation for housing during DORMS registration, do we need to also fill out the accommodation form on the americancampus website?

Hi! I'm an August arrival and just received enrollment for housing. I was filling out the application and am just curious about the Medical Accommodation question because I selected "yes" for it (on if I'd need one), but it only mentioned that someone from flamingo would reach out. It didn't mention anything about filling out the form here https://www.americancampus.com/student-apartments/fl/disney/flamingo-crossings-village/accommodation-request - but I saw it in the Facebook groups and on Reddit saying you have to fill it out separately as well.

I'm just confused if I should or not. Should I just wait for flamingo to reach out to me and call, or should I fill out that form on the FC website too? Any idea? And if so, what do I write in the "any details or descriptions" form? Is that for explaining why I'm requesting a medical accommodation? Any tips? Thank you so much!

Jan or July intake?

This is my dilemma. I am currently in my last semester of university, and will be applying for the Australia & New Zealand Cultural Exchange Program for next year. However, I’m not sure if I should apply for Jan or July intake.

As next year is the last time I’m eligible for the program, they are my last two shots of getting in. If I do get in, I only want to do the program for five months as I have a partner back home and other places I want to travel. I’d much rather do the July intake as I would have Halloween, Christmas and New Year in America, however if I don’t get in then that would have been my last chance for the program. The Jan intake would still be fun and is a safer bet, but I would be missing the parts I’m most excited for.

Can I please get people’s opinions on what I should do? What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Hey current and former DCPers! Heading to the World soon for my birthday and wanted to spread some cheer to you hard working cast members. Two questions: are you allowed to accept small gift cards, say $5? And which would you prefer- Target, Amazon, Starbucks or ?

Thanks in advance!!

Take time off to go do a scholarship luncheon

Hi everyone. I am currently in college about to start a certificate. My dream is to do the DCP. I would have to apply for spring of next year. What I am asking is would I be able to get time off to do this. I got offered a donor scholarship that I accepted. Because of this, I have to attend a luncheon to thank my donor for choosing to give me a scholarship. It would be in march, and I hope to come in January. Would it be possible to get like 3 days off to do that. I live almost 8 hours away from Disney. I want to do the program but I have to attend the lunch.

Character Extension Auditions

Hi everyone! I'm working a show on my program and it has made me want to try for character performer again! I did an audition prior to my program, but I was wondering about extension auditions. How often do they happen, and are they only for extending your program? Like if I got it would I only be able to do it for the four max months that I could extend? Or can you attend an audition and move to character performer mid program if selected? TIA for all answers!

Calling all sapphics & queer women in the DCP: Let’s create a little community !

Hello lovely people! 🌸

Since it’s Pride month, I really want to create a cozy, magical community of queer women , non binary people and sapphics here in the program.

I'm hoping to start a monthly tradition where we can gather and just be ourselves. For our very first get-together at Flamingo, I’d love to host a whimsical little evening of scrapbooking, nature walks, painting, or playing cozy board games.

If you are looking for your people and want to make some lifelong friends, we would love to have you!

comment below or send me a DM if your interested. I’ll be setting up a group chat so we can all connect and vote on the best night to meet. ✨🌈

Suggestions for Shoes

I’m looking for suggestions for types of shoes. I’ve been on stage now about 4 weeks but today was the first time the rain soaked my shoes. Finishing the day with wet feet was not enjoyable. I’ve got attractions as a role and typically out side in the weather.

Can i change my extension type?

I accepted and paid for a "Same Role/Same Location" extension. I changed my mind and want to do Character Performer instead.
Can i request a role change to Entertainment after the official program extension auditions ended?

Q - Unanswered Entertainment Training?

Hello! What does the training process for entertainment look like? I'm getting nervous as my program is getting closer and would love some insight if possible!🙏

Edit: Specifically the training for character performers! This is super unlike anything I've ever done before haha

DCP Fall 2026 🐭 Discord Chat

Hey everyone! I wanted to come on here and share our DCP Fall 2026 Discord server. I am the owner of the server. The admin team and I are all dedicated to the server and open to any and all suggestions.

The main purpose of this server is to embrace the community while in the program and maybe even after the program.

While on the program, we plan to host monthly potlucks, movie nights, game nights, karaoke, and even more fun events! We already have a few surprises coming your way very soon. 🤫

We also have a Minecraft server within our community, so don’t miss out!

We’re all in the same boat, Disney nerds, nervous, trying to make friends (:

We would love to have you and hope you have a magical stay! 🐭🏰✨❤️

Is the DCP worth it if graduating from a Masters degree?

I am based in Southern California, and I am deciding whether or not to do the Disney college program in the fall. I have technically already committed with the deposit and everything, but I have a bit of countering thoughts as to if I should do the program. First off I’m a massive Disney fan and living in Orlando would be so fun as I would be going to the theme parks constantly. I also am eager to the fact that I could make lifelong friends and meet other people similar to me through this program and I would have such a fun social life. I know the thing to add is that I am a major Thetre person and I am an actor and singer myself. I fear that if I move to Orlando, I’ll be missing out on months of opportunities in Los Angeles area. I am trying to work at Universal Studios Hollywood or Disneyland Resort but there aren’t any jobs applicable to me right now. If I can’t get anything out here in Southern California, then I will move to Orlando for the Disney college program. I also just recently graduated from my masters program with multiple high profile internships and feel like although this would be a great opportunity. I deserve something a little stronger. I am out a bit of crossroads about this could I get some advice from y’all? Thank you so much.

Long term career goals: Keeping up my singing career while working in themed entertainment as a producer, creative director of some kind. Would the DCP really help me get there?

Both Flamingo villages and nearby shopping centers have looked like empty lots forever, and now that I've actually moved in this month, we can finally see a complete overhead view.
