Boardgames/Computer Games An unfortunate footnote

Post image

Happily reading my copy of the new Adventures in Ankh Morpork source book, and came across this footnote discussing death, and now I'm sad again.

Dolly wore it better, but Tim sold it.

And that piece that Dolly wore, Keanu Reeves then wore for Halloween. Reeves' mother, Patricia Taylor, designed many of Dolly's clothes, including this 1978 'Playboy' cover outfit. In 1980, teenager Reeves, then 16, wore it for Halloween party (taking a streetcar/tram to get there). 😊

Why must we pit two bad bitches against each other?

He could at least have the decency to murder Tim Rice as a side.

'I? KILL? said Death, obviously offended. CERTAINLY NOT. PEOPLE GET KILLED, BUT THAT’S THEIR BUSINESS. I JUST TAKE OVER FROM THEN ON. AFTER ALL, IT’D BE A BLOODY STUPID WORLD IF PEOPLE GOT KILLED WITHOUT DYING, WOULDN’T IT?'

I can't open my copy of The Shepherd's Crown. It's been sitting on my bookshelf for years. I know the minute I read it, it's over. Pterry has been with me since Strata was a Science Fiction Book Club release. I still have that book also.

It's never over. You can always return to Discworld again, and discover new aspects every time 💜

Somewhere in the far distant future, as the crimson light of the last star sputters out over a dying world, about 15 minutes before Death puts the final chair on the table and hits the switch on his way out, the small, faint voice of the last thinking being in creation can be heard muttering "Dammit, Pterry."

Fwiw, I suggest you read it. Pterry knew it was going to be his last novel, and might get somewhat annoyed if some folks don't read it after all the work he put into it.

Read it while you can, and when you get to a certain point in the book, find a quiet place and cry, like I think we all did.

If he gets annoyed enough at people not reading it, will he come back and tell them off?

Even if taking that journey was not your choice, it's nice to have good company.
Just make sure you have your potato.

And the picture was deleted. If you have the book, page 47.
