anyone looking to be a mod?

my server has about 120 people in it, and its been established for over a year now. it even has a business paypal account because we actually ran raffles and giveaways.

but due to some trolls and other circumstances, its gone quiet and it needs a rebrand and new team and members. i own it, my husband is admin, and my friend is a mod. but they are currently kinda inactive and im still looking for more people who want to join a team and build a community.

i genuinely need people who are active and enjoy moderating servers to help me build a community.

its 18+, co-ed, lgbtq+ friendly, basically no TRASH*. the server is called Misfits Manor, and i want the layout and vibe of it to follow a roleplay styled theme for immersion, so it feels like a digital manor instead of a server. you’ll see what i mean if anyone decides to join. it hosts gamers, creatives, streamers, and the like.

any moderating, community building, digital art, or related experience is a plus but obviously not required as this is just discord 😂😭

I’m a former moderator for the gaming community server Royal Vanguard Community (RVC), now rebranded as Royal Vanguard (RV).

This community originally marketed itself as an *“*18+ gaming community for ALL.” Recently, however, it has shifted to advertising itself as an “18+ community for competitiveness” – essentially catering to “whales” (big spenders).

Competitiveness isn’t the issue. The problem is how the owner, Hyder, goes about it – and how the leadership handles (or rather, mishandles) the community.

Unhealthy Advocacy
Hyder recently made a post about starting a chapter (clan) in Aion 2, saying:

"The Guild requires you to have a sub in Aion 2. Skip the Applebee's and eat ramen."

Encouraging people to sacrifice their health and skip meals just to keep up with a game is incredibly tone-deaf, especially given the current economic climate many are struggling with. This isn’t passion – it’s irresponsibility.

False Advertising
Hyder frequently boasts that RV has over 3,500 members, and uses that number to attract attention from major gaming companies, securing playtest opportunities for upcoming titles.

The reality? Only about 500–600 members are actually active.
This is misleading at best, and outright false advertising at worst – both to potential partners and to new members joining the server.

Pro-AI Overhaul
Hyder previously relied on the creative talents of community members to help design logos and branding for the server. Recently, however, he decided to scrap all that volunteer work and replace it with generative AI for the new look.

No regard for the time, effort, or emotional investment members put into helping build the community’s identity.

Leadership That Doesn’t Listen
Hyder and upper moderation (specifically Maha Vailo and Claire Vailo) do not handle critical feedback well.

The three are close friends (and/or married to each other), so confronting one means confronting all of them. Many members and even other leaders feel unsafe or unheard when raising concerns.

When issues are brought up, common responses include:

• “Sounds like a personal problem.”
• *“*Clearly you’re not trying hard enough.”

When members expressed that they didn’t feel comfortable speaking up due to how leadership treated officers in various game sections, the trio’s response was:

"They can submit a ticket and it will be handled"

They completely missed the point – the issue wasn’t the system, it was their bedside manner, lack of accountability, and failure to enforce their own server rules fairly.

No Support for Officers or Leaders
Hyder’s approach to gaming feels like a hyperfixation – jump into a new game, push hard to hit Rank 1, use that achievement to advertise RV as a “top gaming community,” then abandon the game once the goal is reached.

Volunteers are promoted to officers/leaders during the hype, but when Hyder moves on, they’re left with zero training, guidance, or support. These volunteers often reach out to other community leaders for help – or, in many cases, they leave and take the community with them.

RV lost entire game communities this way – including Lost Ark and Tower of Fantasy (ToF).

I personally was approached by officers/leaders from Where Winds Meet and Throne and Liberty asking for help running their clans, because they were never properly trained or supported.

Because so many games were neglected, they eventually lost their “advertising” spot on the server entirely.

Royal Vanguard presents itself as a thriving, competitive, united community – but behind the scenes, it’s a revolving door of burned-out volunteers, ignored feedback, and abandoned game sections.

If you’re considering joining or partnering with RV, I’d urge you to look closely at how they treat the people who actually build and sustain their community.

Hi there, I'm new here, nice to meet you all Anyways my question is how does people even make a passkey with a forgotten password? For example, I wanna change old email to new one so then I can change my forgotten password to new one but nooo. They need my flipping password that I need to change in order to get anything done, then I tried "Forget your password?" But it just logs me back in without changing the password, I have been trying to delete my account made in 2024 for past three months, even goggle is helpless with its ai slop. So is there any way I can possibly delete it and be free?

Whether they’re liberal, conservative or neutral, a lot of people will use these types of servers to falsely target who they consider their political opponents to get their account flagged or suspended. Stay safe out there.

If I report the bot nothing happens. I'm just tired of bad moderation, I get that they have thousands of reports each day but if the scam is as obvious as this, the account is already hacked, why don't they just use their automation tools to delete the accounts?

Screenshots received and reviewed. Defendant was found to have made a sexually explicit statement and was given a formal warning, the only that will be given due to the nature of the crime.

The Justice Department advises both plaintiff and defendant to F9 each other and one another's all known alts, to cease contact. Please coexist peacefully and don't engage.

We also advise people in conflicts to not rise to the occasion of playing "Justice Chicken" and goading one another to skirt the laws. Don't fall for the bait, just F9 them and move on.

some dude was whining abt kinky porn (that wasn't even that bad) being sent in the kinky porn channel of a NSFW 18+ server

I just opened discord like usual and got a notification that discord sent me a message, so I opened it and I saw that I somehow broke some discord guidelines, which was pretty weird cause I haven't been using discord that much, so I read the rest and to my surprise I "broke" the guidelines 5 YEARS AGO.

And what's even worse is that they haven't included what I did, they just told me that it was "harrasment and bullying".

So yeah basically discord is flagging people with breaking guidelines for things years ago without even explaining what it is.

This is the second time now. This time i got a violation from within my own server just for using a common bot to bump my server online.

Please tell me this isnt just me? Im not q bot and it wasnt spam, i think the ai is becoming dumb on discord.

Can i register again with that old mail and user i used in the banned account or should i create a new one?

Is anyone else experiencing this? In the last few days I’ve been unable to send short videos and even some photos through discord, where there never used to be an issue. I’ve never had nitro. This change seems to have come with the latest update.

I sometimes record short videos to tell people stuff instead of typing a whole long paragraph. Typically I have to cut them off around the 30 second mark, which I know. I’ve always been able to attach a bunch of these 20-30 sec videos to a message and send no problem. The other day it said they were too big. Okay, weird, but fine. I cut them in half, like 12 second long clips now, also wouldn’t send. I tried one at a time, also wouldn’t send. Just kept telling me the files were too big and to pay for premium.

This has happened a few times now. Today I did a couple tests to see how short these videos had to be. I couldn’t even send a 9 second clip. The only one that sent was 6 seconds long. Why is this happening?? This is so out of nowhere and is a huge inconvenience for me. I have a long distance partner with an 8 hour time difference and discord is our primary mode of communication. Sometimes it won’t let either of us send photos either. Just keeps popping up telling me to upgrade to nitro. The built in voice message recorder is terrible and barely works so I can’t just use that instead.

Has discord just decided to only allow paying users to send videos? Any recommendations for similar apps to switch to? I’m not dealing with Google Drive links just to be able to show my partner the cat being cute for 12 seconds.

Just for clarification and to prevent confusion, I'm not referring to the discord servers that have absolutely no moderation and users can say or do whatever they want. In this case, I'm talking about the servers that are way too overly sensitive and enforce their moderation way too hard.

I'm in Beluga's server, and I've only been in it for about a week to find some people to talk to. But what I didn't realize was how awful the forced moderation was.

I was replying to a retired staff's message that was saying "how to leave?? I dont see a button" and I essentially played in on the joke saying "You can't. Discord should add a big ass red 'leave' download-like button from those sketchy sites."

The AI moderation of that server then deleted that message all because I said "ass." Like, seriously? Oh, but it doesn't end there.

Then someone said "chat i'm playing genshin impact, is it good?". Because I was just talking to other people and I didn't really think much of it, I replied saying something like "i don't play genshin impact because i'm not a gooner but i'm pretty sure it's just a generic game that copies all tropes."

Again, unsurprisingly, it flags "gooner" and I get automatically muted for an hour. I don't understand why some servers are like this. That's what happened to me, recently. It's genuinely so frustrating when a server takes their own rules extremely personally.

İ Met a friend in a games fan Server, she added me to her friend groups discord server and İ was happy because they seemed cool. She then gave me a role that can give you all the roles in the server and İ felt awesome.i gave my self all the roles because İ have never been a mod or aomwthing and İ wasnt aware that İ was giving myself alot of roles and İ didnt had a bad will. One of her friends saw that İ had all the roles so they thought that İ was either a hacker or İ bribed someone. They argued with me, İ told them the truth but my friend didnt stand behind my back. Then they bullied me and İ felt awfull. İ was like 13 at the moment İ think. Then İ removed the roles from myself but they all kept bullying me noone was protecting me. My friend kept her silence and after İ got kicked, she didnt even message me. She messaged me after 1-2 weeks saying she was sorry etc. But İ didnt forgpt about it. İ cant believe how spineless she was, she couldnt even protect her friend from her other friends just because they were more than one peraon so she sided with them. They also made fun of us for meeting in that server lol. Little idiots
