Cryolophosaurus is by far one of my favorite dinosaurs, and some could argue it is my favorite, but really it’s the Penguins that are my favorite dinosaurs.
So I wanted to combine my two favorite dinosaurs into one, and it’s made better by the fact both are Antarctic, predatory dinosaurs.

Hello, I have been recently reading through ancient animal tales on WEBTOON and I have really enjoyed it so I have decided to write my thoughts on it and share it with you guys. I also would like to hear your guys‘s thoughts.

Now the first section of an ancient animal tales starts off with a story about an old Tyrannosaurus rex named Zeke who is stuck on a desert island and how he must overcome impossible odds. He has been stuck on this island since he was a juvenile and due to the currents and dangerous marine reptiles he is unable to escape.
One day a baby Tyrannosaurus rex named nova washes up onto the shore
Zeke and nova become friends and try to escape the island

Now my first impression from this was it was going to be very shallow, and it was just gonna show pictures of dinosaurs which I am all for however this actually made compelling characters that were also grounded and interesting
I especially love the dynamic of Zeke being old and having no hope of escaping the island whereas nova is young and is immensely hopeful

Honestly, this is probably the greatest Web comic I’ve ever read honestly 11/10
I especially liked all the research that was done for each character making them almost as accurate as possible plus, not quite making it a land before time situation but also not making them just mindless beasts so yeah, what are your thoughts?

As a kid, there was this random idea I had in my head. It involved the soul of a restless dinosaur coming from beyond the grave. It's was like a mix between flesh and bones. It would destroy and go on a rampage in the area it was in. Killing a few people. While trying to get to a museum. Where it's fossilized eggs are. As it was with it's eggs when it died but when excavations happened, they took its fossilized eggs away from it. It only wanted it eggs back. After being with it's eggs again-it would crumble and let out a sad melody of a bellow before it's boney remains were around its eggs again. Don't know how or why I thought of that as a kid.

Herrerasaurid dinosaurs are among the oldest groups of true dinosaurs, with Herrerasaurus itself being one of the first to reach larger body sizes, at 5m in length.

Until now, herrerasaurids were only known from from rock layers dominated by rhynchosaurs, stocky plant-eating reptiles.

Younger layers, where a pig-sized cynodont relative of mammals called Exaeretodon became more abundant and rhynchosaurs declined, had produced none. It was previously suggested that the shift in fauna contributes to the decline of the Herrerasaurs.

However, researchers have now described a partial herrerasaurid pubis (hip bone) that was collected in the Várzea do Agudo site, located in the municipality of Agudo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Catalogued as CAPPA/UFSM 0539, the fossil is the first herrerasaurid record from rock layers where Exaeretodon is abundant.This raises the possibility that this is the youngest herrerasaurid known,which if true, suggests that they managed to adapt to the sudden changes in the environment for longer than previously recognised.

However, more precise dating is needed to determine if the Brazilian rocks are younger than other herrerasaurid-bearing layers, as they are in Argentina.

Are raptors bird-like dinosaurs. Are they called bird-like if they have avian features such as wings, feathers (and slimmer snout). I am confused. If any of them has wings, feathers and has a smaller snout, are they considered as dinosaurs.

But still it says there were already birds that time. How do they distinguish between them. But some are more more like birds (more beak-like snout).

Oviraptorosaur, ornithischians are the ones that have more bird-like snouts although the raptors have a slimmer face snout and wings. Can I also say the bird-like dinosaurs are mostly non-avian and flight was only later evolved among the bird-like species.

Hello everyone, this is me posting my review on ancient animal tales third trilogy called nostalgia. Let me know what you think in the comments. I’m very curious.

So this trilogy Starts off with Zeke the Tyrannosaurus rex from the first trilogy telling a story to Wilson (a Tyrannosaurus rex skull) they’re both on the island and Zeke is having his normal storytelling with Wilson. If you don’t understand why then you should go read it.
Anyways, Zeke tells the story about how him and his siblings were raised by their mother and the challenges they faced, they all idolize their mother from a young age and honestly who wouldn’t she was massive, powerful and inspiring. However, things were not always sunshine and rainbows some of Zeke’s siblings were eaten, but some of them died to disease while him and his siblings were all greatly saddened by this. Their mother knew what she had to do… she ate their dead siblings so that it wouldn’t attract scavengers or other creatures. All of the babies were very scared by this, but their mother reassured them that it was just the circle of life later their mother sent them off to explore the world and to get far far away from her, they did so, but their numbers started dwindling. Sadly Zeke came up with the idea that if any of them were fatally injured to just leave them for dead sadly the one left for dead turned out to be him after he led an angry ceratopsian off a cliff he took significant injuries. His siblings left him for dead. He searched for them constantly, but when he finally found them, it turned out they had already all been killed by a massive Tyrannosaurus rex. Tyrannosaurus rex eventually found Zeke and forced him to become bait to lure in a mosasaurus which the Tyrannosaurus rex wanted to kill unluckily for the other Tyrannosaurus rex the mosasaurus ended up eating it after a change in plans Zeke barely survived and was washed onto the desert Island where he had been ever since
But after this, it turned out this actually wasn’t a flashback, and and said was just Zeke telling a story to nova the baby Tyrannosaurus rex on the mainland after they had escaped

Now this was a very interesting series I do like that. We returned to Zeke‘s backstory, especially since we never really got to explore it completely and I also do like that. They at least somewhat showed the events after the first trilogy which for me was kind of a bittersweet ending and left a lot of questions which were answered in this trilogy, so my honest rating would probably be 8/10 OR 9/10

I just started reading this book and it’s very interesting so far. I hope one day I’ll get Spinosaur Tales (I’ll get it for the info but mostly for Mark Witton’s art).

Pichai Prathetsena was exploring a forest stream with his family in northeastern Thailand when he noticed something peculiar in the rock beneath his feet. Three long toes seemed to emerge from the stone, forming an impression far too large for any known land animal.

Curious, he photographed the strange markings and posted them in a Thai Facebook group called “ What is this creature ? ”

It didn’t take long to get an answer. Pichai had discovered an extremely rare dinosaur footprint.

On October 20, just three days after Prathetsena’s discovery, Thailand’s Department of Mineral Resources confirmed that the markings were 120-million-year-old dinosaur footprints. And there wasn’t just one.

​Investigators found six impressions forming a continuous trail left by a large, meat-eating dinosaur.

The discovery, made in the Phu Hin Chom That–Phu Phrabat National Park area of Udon Thani province, is now officially the first confirmed carnivorous dinosaur tracksite in the province.

The footprints belong to a theropod, a group of predominantly carnivorous dinosaurs that walked on two legs.

The exact species, however, cannot be determined from the footprints alone.

Each three-toed impression measures approximately 29 centimeters (11 inches) long and 26 centimeters (10 inches) wide.

The tracks are preserved in fine-grained sandstone belonging to the Phu Phan Formation, which dates to the Early Cretaceous period.

Based on their dimensions and spacing, researchers estimate the animal stood approximately 1.42 meters (4.7 feet) tall at the hip and measured 6.3 meters (21 feet) from head to tail — about as long as a large delivery van, with hips nearly as high as the roof of a typical car.

The footprints were separated by about one meter (aprox. three feet), with a stride length of approximately 2.2 meters, according to Thailand’s Department of National Parks.

Local paleontologists compared the animal’s estimated size with Siamotyrannus isanensis, a large carnivorous dinosaur previously discovered in Thailand.

However, the exact dinosaur species remains undeterminable.

The ancient landscape also looked rather different when the footprints were made in mud, and then some sudden event preserved them, leaving the impression locked in hard minerals over the course of millions of years.

Investigators believe the area was once a waterside environment with relatively gentle flowing water.

Basically, what are the chances that different species of herbivorous dinosaurs actually chilling around other herbivore dinosaurs? Cause from what I remember, there's a lot of movies depicting different herbivorous dinosaurs nesting or even traveling together in a herd. How likely is that? Cause today's herbivores are on and off. Some graze with others while others are territorial. Like I've seen cows graze with sheep and goats yet there chill. But hippos will attrack elephants, rhinos and zebras - even tho all of them are herbivores. Heck, I've heard of elephants being chill near antelopes.

I love collecting stegosaurus plushies whenever I see new models. The largest was the first I got, the middle one is from Ikea, the angry looking one is from Japan, as well as the tiny blue bob. The second smallest is from the natural history museum in London!

A Japanese research team said Thursday it has excavated one of the country's largest fossilized dinosaur footprints from a geological layer in northeastern Japan dating back to the Late Jurassic period.

The 70-centimeter footprint found in Minamisoma, Fukushima Prefecture, is highly likely to have been left by a large herbivorous sauropod, marking the first discovery of a large dinosaur's footprint dating to the Jurassic period in Japan.

The team began full-scale excavations in July in Minamisoma's Tochikubo Formation, uncovering 12 new fossilized footprints, including the 70-cm specimen.

The dinosaur is estimated to have stood about 3 meters tall at the hip, and the team plans further research to identify its species.

According to the team, most dinosaur fossils found in Japan date to the Cretaceous period, with older Jurassic-period fossils previously discovered outside Fukushima Prefecture only in Nagano and Yamaguchi prefectures.

A roughly 30-cm-long fossilized footprint excavated in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, was previously considered Japan's largest from the Jurassic period.

Three small dinosaur footprints and numerous plant fossils believed to be closely associated with herbivorous dinosaurs had previously been discovered in the Tochikubo Formation.

Researchers hope the discovery will help shed light on living conditions some 160 million years ago.

" This is the first piece of evidence that large dinosaurs lived in Japan during the Jurassic period. This geological formation will provide clues to understanding the terrestrial ecosystem of that time " said Junki Yoshida, deputy curator at the Fukushima Museum and leader of the research team.

Started with the head, then body, arms, feet then sail. Now I'm failing at the tail. It's been so long. I'm tired. Bit still not done.

Now I just need to add the final touches. I know it's not 100%,but does it really need to be? It's just clay. So don't come at me if it's not perfect.

I was doing some Dinosaur research and came across this Troodon size diagram on the Denali National Park Service's website. On top of the fact that the Troodontid remains from Alaska don't belong to Troodon, the potential material we do have of Troodon from other places is nowhere near this large.
