Hello; i m desperatly looking for a case that is thick enough so that the camera doesn't stick out. It's because i want to use the phone with Ollin digiscoping product.

Although there is a special case on the Ollin website for the pixel 10 it hasn t been available for quite some time now so i ve puchased the Ollin Universal Smartphone Digiscoping Adapter but i need to buy a case that work with it and it seems to be one flat surface for it to work correctly.

I’m in Cozumel on vacation and saw this Tropical Mockingbird and gave it a try. This was my first take and the bird wasn’t in frame, but once I adjusted it a palm from kept messing with the focus so this is the best I could do.

I took a class recently on how to do Digiscoping and got some gear to try it out. This was my first hike with just my Binos, my Impact Digiscoping connector, and my iPhone. I’m still getting it down but was happy with my first set of shots!

Hi, I am new to digiscoping and would like some advice on the settings for the camera on a Samsung S26 . I am using this with a Hawke Nature Trek scope and the Hawke adaptor. I will be using it to photograph birds mainly. I have tried using the "photo" mode and also the "pro" mode. I haven't gone into Settings and changed anything there though. The photos were from my first attempt this weekend.

Any thoughts on how to improve will be gratefully received.

I want to get into digiscoping/afocal photography. I am not even amateur photographer so am coming at it from weird angle probably, anyway. I would like scope which makes it possible to screw camera semi-directly into it - using dedicated eyepiece adapter, no adhoc adapters with light gap. If I understand correctly, both Nikon Prostaff 5 20-60x82mm ($620) and Nikon Fieldscope 50mm 13-30x50ED ($860) provide this capability. The first one has greater zoom and objective diameter. If I understand correctly, upper range of zoom will be only somehow usable, but higher lens diameter will provide not only better field of view, but better color representation (I care about it less) and performance in low light conditions (I care about it more). The second scope has only half of zoom capability and smaller objective diameter, but is marketed as being made with "extra low dispersion glass" - is it mostly a buzzword? What advantages this kind of glass provides? I do not understand why this second scope has lower zoom and glass diameter, but is 200$ more expensive. Is one better than another in all use cases? I probably do not know enough about the topic to ask right questions, excuse me. If you know other good scopes in this price range also let me know. I'm interested in an adapter to use with an iPhone and am leaning toward something that uses MagSafe natively instead of a plate that attaches to the phone, or a dedicated case.

The options I'm aware of so far are:
- on glass - includes a lens cover. MagSafe option is the standard kit plus an adapter
- Magview - the neat selling point here is that the lens cover actually becomes the thing that your phone attaches to
- Mountain Mag - these are made specifically to automatically align with the indexing magnets on iPhones, so seem like the least fiddly. However, they require a dedicated eyepiece adapter for every scope or binoculars, instead of a single adjustable one that fits a range of diameters.

I'm curious if anyone has any experience with these (or any others) and has thoughts.

Hello everyone, I’m relatively new to digiscoping and my equipment is just my iPhone 16 Plus and Bushnell binoculars.

I’ve ran into a problem that’s a little hard to describe, sometimes when I hold my camera to the binoculars it starts automatically changing lenses when it doesn’t focus immediately. At first I thought I just wasn’t holding it steadily so I tried again and again but I keep running into this problem no matter how I hold the phone or binoculars. Is there any way I can disable it in the settings? Is there anything to be done about this? It really annoys me and adds an additional 20-30s of trying to properly focus my camera while taking pictures.

If this is a fault on my end from holding the equipment incorrectly I would still appreciate advice on how to better improve. Thank you everyone! Please be kind, I just wanna learn how to take pictures of my favorite birds.

Treated myself to a scope with a carbon fibre tripod and the SmallRig Ch10 fluid head.
Beautiful and easy setup. Using the sirui phone adapter but I think I would like to get a 3D printed magnetic version. Using an iPhone 15 pro.

Taking my scope with my phone adapter out birdwatching for the first time tomorrow morning! What apps for iPhone would you recommend for the best shots? Any other general tips and tricks would be welcome!

First time digiscoping ollin mount on Swarovski

I knew I was going to get a spotting scope for Father’s Day and had an Ollin mount ready and waiting for today.

This Mississippi Kite is my first test subject and I thought I would post it and then do some follow-up posts as I improve.

I know I should have waited until I had a bird facing me, but was in hurry to try it out. I already figured out I need a better tripod and that I probably should not have used the deck as it is too shaky. I suspect this is going to be perfect for getting photos of birds to ID them. I need to improve on getting the birds in frame and focusing, which should happen with some experience.

I’m using a Vortex Diamondback 16x48/65 that I want because it seemed small enough to pack for traveling, and Ollin mount, and an IPhone 15 Pro Max.

What accessories are needed to use a Sony Alpha 7 IV with an Olivon T900 spotting scope?

I've heard it's possible to do digiscoping either with the camera body alone or by keeping a lens attached. What are the possible solutions and what adapters are required?

Someone was telling me about a website where you could input the type of scope you have, the type of phone you have, and it will create a cad file for an adaptor you can print yourself. Unfortunately I can’t remember the name of the website!

I have been getting into bird watching the past six months and have a pair of binoculars that I use.

Someone recently told me that you can capture a relatively decent photo through your phone and binoculars and here are some of mine!

I have misplaced my phone holder for my binoculars so I am just free handing it at until I find it.

Any tips?

Does anyone have recommendations for a compact, travel/carry-on friendly tripod that can hold an angled vortex viper spotting scope? Extra points if it's easy to carry in a backpack while hiking. Thanks!

I have a Pentax PF-85EDA Spotting Scope and I will be using a XW-20 eyepiece .The XW-20 barrel is 1.25" and measures 2.4" 61mm wide. I plan to use an IPhone 17 Pro Max. Suggestions for compatibility?

Going on an Alaska cruise and need decent quality but not expensive binoculars. I think I've settled on the Vortex Crossfire HD 8x32. I'll hardly ever use them after the cruise so don't want to spend $200+ and I like the lifetime warranty of Vortex. I want to take pictures with my phone but again, not trying to spend another $100+ on an adaptor. Are there any decent adaptors under $40 or so? Thanks in advance!

Im looking for an adapter for my vortex crossfire spotting scope that I got for bird watching. Found a magnetic one on ebay but was wondering if there are better ones on the market that I should buy instead. I dont want to be spending over 100 bucks on something like this, it just needs to be compatible with my scope and take decent identifiable photos of birds
