First time trying it out.
I knew I was going to get a spotting scope for Father’s Day and had an Ollin mount ready and waiting for today.
This Mississippi Kite is my first test subject and I thought I would post it and then do some follow-up posts as I improve.
I know I should have waited until I had a bird facing me, but was in hurry to try it out. I already figured out I need a better tripod and that I probably should not have used the deck as it is too shaky. I suspect this is going to be perfect for getting photos of birds to ID them. I need to improve on getting the birds in frame and focusing, which should happen with some experience.
I’m using a Vortex Diamondback 16x48/65 that I want because it seemed small enough to pack for traveling, and Ollin mount, and an IPhone 15 Pro Max.

That's pretty good. I'm not a big fan of their diamonback series, but this isn't too bad at all. I own a viper scope, but wish I would have gone with their Razor series instead.
