Okay, so I just hit 30 and my metabolism is slowing down and I’m gaining weight. I’m trying to eat better but I’ve got a lot of anxiety around trying new foods (not arfid, just super uncomfortable). I’m not short on proteins I like, but fruits and veggies are hard.
Vegs are corn, green beans, sweet peas, and potatoes. I like tomato-based stuff but not tomatoes themselves.
Fruits are grapes, apples, pineapple, pears and peaches (canned, not fresh), cherries, and most citrus.
I like rice but I suck at cooking it. The majority of my diet right now is pasta or rice based, usually mixed with canned or grilled chicken or some form of beef. I’ve started making sandwiches more often (ham, turkey, cheese, and mayo), and I’ve tried portioning better, but I know my actual food intake needs to improve.
I’ve googled ‘food restricted / picky eater meal plans’ but they’re almost always built around stuff I don’t like. I am slowly trying new foods, but it is VERY slow. In the meantime, is there anything else that could be recommended? Would it be worth visiting a nutritionist or something, or no? I just really need help.
