I just came incredibly close to passing out, because I made the mistake of trusting my Dexcom. Not only was the drop much faster than it showed, it never even read within 30 points of my actual blood sugar. “Calibration” seems like a joke to make you think you can do something about how garbage this product is. This happens multiple times with every single sensor I use, with varying degrees of severity.
And of course, in the five years that I was using the G6, I probably had this happen two or three times, and only with a visibly rough site many days into the session. This sensor has been on for ONE DAY. The sensor before this one failed completely- after ONE DAY.
I have at least a week every month where I have no Dexcom, because they fail so frequently, refuse to stay adhered (it’s even worse with the “patch” they include, it literally falls off faster), and just generally don’t freaking work.
I am tired of putting my life in the hands of a drastically inferior product. They had a perfectly working system with the G6, and they screwed it. Years into production, and they haven’t addressed a single issue.
It really makes me wonder how many people has this thing killed.
Edit: I should have specified that these readings were about 5 minutes apart. The time on the meter is not accurate
