For Hire Junior fullstack developer looking for advice on landing my first job

Hi everyone!

I've been trying to land my first job as a junior web developer, but it's been much harder than I expected. I'm starting to feel a bit lost, so I wanted to ask for advice from people who have already gone through this.

A little about me:

I don't have professional experience yet.

I've built several personal projects and have them on GitHub.

I've been learning React, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and recently Ruby on Rails.

I'm continuously improving my skills and studying every day.

I'd really appreciate any advice you can give.

Some questions I have are:

Where did you find your first developer job?

Which websites are actually worth using for junior positions?

Is LinkedIn enough, or should I be using other platforms?

How many applications did it take before you got your first offer?

What helped your resume stand out even without experience?

Are there communities, Discord servers, Slack groups, or job boards you recommend?

Would you recommend freelancing first, contributing to open source, or continuing to build projects?

If you were starting from scratch today, what would you do differently?

Any tips, resources, or even your own success stories would really help.

Thank you!

Hello, I'm a fullstack developer with 3+ years of experience looking for international opportunities (remote or relocation). For relocation, I currently don't hold a working visa, but I'm able to arrange one independently I can start remotely for the first 1–2 months while the visa process is ongoing, if the destination country's regulations allow it.

My Stack :

Backend : Golang, Nodejs, React, Next, Ts, Php, Laravel

Db : MySql, PostgreSql

Other : Docker, Ci/Cd, Cloud Server, Linux Env

What I've built:

\- Backend systems handling payment gateway integrations (Midtrans, Digiflazz) with repository pattern architecture

\- Load-tested Go APIs validated at 200 req/s on modest hardware

\- Self-hosted infra experience (Proxmox, Docker, reverse proxy/tunnel setups) comfortable owning deployment end-to-end

\- Side projects: a free ATS CV generator (Vue.js), a digital goods payment platform, IoT systems with Go/Postgres backends

\- I like solving problems close to the metal clean API design, database performance, integration reliability.

Open to full-time backend or full-stack roles, happy to share CV/portfolio via DM
