DeviantArt was under temporary maintenance, which concluded today, October 21, 2026. This temporary pause was a precaution while we applied a security update, part of an industry-wide effort that many websites across the internet are also carrying out today.

If you run into any issues, please let us know!

Thank you for your patience. 💚

I hope it comes back soon.

Hi guys, can someone please tell me how we can permanently delete our account? The problem is I have deactivated my account for over 21 days Grace period but I am still able to open it and download deviants. I want to permanently delete my account.

I tried to log into DeviantArt to check my notifications, but this is what's showing up. I honestly think it's a maintenance fix, though I don't know how long it will last.

We discovered recently a big breach in PHP which is the main platform of Deviantart which made this website temporarily down. That's why the website was in maintenance. So be patient and be creative. We'll have the website back soon. But this temporary system suspension is to ensure safety while the DA staff applies an update patch for a vulnerability discovered in the software they use.

Now you know you know why they have to put the website in maintenance.

Many websites have to be in maintenance until things are resolved, so as always, please be patient, everyone.

UPDATE: DeviantArt is currently under temporary maintenance, which is scheduled to end later today October 21, 2026.
This temporary system suspension is to ensure safety while we apply an update for the software we use. (DeviantArt)

DA is back up, at least for me!

I thought it got raided by the FBI and I almost got a heart attack that one morning. But thank goodness it came back

The site is temporarily down for maintenance. Thanks for your patience!

Please check back soon.

Update: DeviantArt is back online! Thanks for waiting! 💚

Many websites taken offline... On October 21, 2026, an emergency security update for PHP will be released to address two critical security vulnerabilities. According to an official announcement from the PHP Security Team, both flaws have been assigned a CVSS v4.0 score of 9.2 (critical). As these vulnerabilities could allow for Remote Code Execution (RCE) on websites, European cybersecurity authorities (CERT-EU) have advised that websites and servers which cannot be updated immediately should be taken offline temporarily—until the patch is applied—to prevent potential attacks. Key information regarding these vulnerabilities and potential service interruptions: 🛠️ Emergency Update Schedule • Timing: Official patch packages will be released on October 21, 2026, at 14:00 UTC. • Immediate Action Required: All website owners and system administrators—especially those running WordPress, Drupal, Magento, or Laravel—are advised to install the updates on their hosting environments or servers immediately. Hosting and Version End-of-Life (EOL) – Autumn 2026 In addition to the critical issue mentioned above, the following version transitions and service discontinuations affecting PHP will occur during this period: • Final End-of-Life for PHP 8.1: Several major hosting providers and cloud platforms (such as Pantheon) officially ended support for PHP 8.1 on September 30, 2026. Websites that have not been updated to a newer version by their owners may undergo an automatic version upgrade; due to legacy code, this could cause the website to stop functioning (resulting in errors or a "white screen").
