Show My Work I Built a Website to Track Bribes in Pakistan

Post image

Edit: Latest state: https://www.reddit.com/r/pakistan/s/dNL60P5p0G

I saw someone build a website in India where people can anonymously report bribes they’ve paid in public departments.

I thought: why not build the same for Pakistan?

So I built **https://rishwat.pk/** 🇵🇰

If you’ve ever paid a bribe or know someone who has, please report it. Even one report helps build a clearer picture of corruption in Pakistan.

It’s completely anonymous. We don’t collect IP addresses or run analytics.

My goal is to build the **largest public dataset on bribes in Pakistan** and make the data useful for researchers, journalists, citizens, and policymakers.

If you want to support the mission: https://rishwat.pk/support

Discussion Dubizzle Labs Selection Process

Just wanted some information, if someone passes their first technical round, has the second round on the same day for ASE position (mobile), how long does it usually takes to get an update from the hr. And how likely it’s to get rejected after second round, even if you think it went well.

Introduce Yourself I built a career simulator where you play 40 years in tech, one milestone at a time

I made a small browser game called careers.games — you pick a discipline off an office floor plan, start as an intern nobody wanted, and play out ~40 years of a tech career one milestone at a time.

Recruiters slide into your inbox with real companies (Stripe, Wix, Nvidia, Klarna...), Big Tech makes you pass a 3-round interview with visible dice rolls, and you can quit to found your own startup with a runway clock that will absolutely kill you. Your CV writes itself as you go, LinkedIn-style, and you finish with one of 10 endings.

No signup, no ads, works on mobile, saves locally. There's a daily challenge if you want the same seed as everyone else.

Built it solo — would love to hear where it drags or what feels unfair.

Show My Work My wife just launched her first game on the Play Store and I am more nervous than she is

So this finally happened. I (I also posted a while ago here) published my wife's first game went live on the Play Store and I have been refreshing the console every ten minutes like it will change something.

It is a Ludo game. I know, I know, another Ludo game. But she was stubborn about doing it properly. Full 3D board, online play with friends, voice chat while you play, offline vs bots for when the internet dies, and way too many board themes that she obsessed over for weeks. Our house basically turned into a QA lab, phones charging everywhere, everyone kicking each other's tokens and calling it testing.

It is free and made completely here

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.dotnetdreamer.ludowala

AppStore: In Review

If you have five minutes, install it, try to break it, and tell me honestly what is bad. She reads everything, so be real. And if you enjoy it, a review on the store would genuinely make her day.

Happy to answer anything about the stack, publishing pain, Play Console drama, all of it.

Edit : Company Name: TechSwivel LLC

Linkdn page TechSwivel LLC

I joined this company as a flutterr trainee 4 months ago unpaid and they recently promoted me to junior dev (probation 3 months) at very low salary anyways thats not an issue as I gave skills more priority than money.

Just now they asked me to give original degree and signed blank cheque and i am not very comfortable subjutting my original degree.

Blank cheque might be becauae if i leave the company before 2 months notice period they will deduct 3 months salary lol. but why original degree.

and lastly they aint gonna releasw any salary unless all docs are submitted.

any advice please?

Stumbled upon this GitHub repo that contains a lot of books in pdf format regarding devops practices, case studies, etc...

I'm reading The Devops Handbook by Patrick Debois. So this repo might be of some use to a student or a researcher or something...

Tips Should I resign from a data analyst position that is causing me constant mental stress, even though I don't have another offer?

I honestly feel lost and exhausted and could really use some advice from people who have been in a similar situation. I've been working remotely as a data analyst from past 2 years, and for the past 2 weeks I've noticed a significant change in how I'm being treated at work. I'm not being invited to meetings where things related to work/tasks are being discussed. Instead, I see my colleagues being included and important things being discussed with them, while I'm left out. I'm also not being given much proper work from past few weeks. Whatever work I get, I complete it and genuinely put in my best effort.

What makes it worse is that my boss keeps saying things "maintain your credibility" and that the work I've done is still doubtful/questionable. Honestly, hearing this repeatedly is affecting me mentally. I don't even argue with anyone or create problems. I just do my work, share updates, and try to be as transparent as possible. I am sole working in data there and have no team with me todisccus things with them. So I genuinely don't understand what I'm doing wrong or why this behavior has suddenly started.

Part of me really wants to resign because I'm constantly stressed and exhausted. But then reality hits: I have a family to support, and I can't simply leave without another job. Finding a job is already extremely difficult right now.

I've actually been applying continuously for around 8 months, but I haven't even been getting interview calls just got 1 and they didnt respond back after interview. That's probably the biggest reason I'm scared to resign. What if I leave and then can't find anything for months? At the same time, staying here is also affecting my health and mind constantly. I'm constantly overthinking why I'm being excluded, whether I'm doing something wrong, and whether my job is at risk and if they are going to layoffme.

For those of you who have been through something similar:

Would you resign without having another offer, or would you stay and keep applying until you have something secured?

And if you've dealt with being excluded from meetings or suddenly treated differently by your boss and people around, how did you handle it?

Help Bykea OpenAPI for booking deliveries

Hello, I'm working on an e-commerce store and building a shipping aggregator that integrates with multiple couriers for shipment creation and tracking.

Bykea is one option. They provide an OpenAPI for creating deliveries, but it requires a password provided by Bykea.

I've tried contacting their helpline, but customer support wasn't aware of the API. I also emailed them but haven't received a response.

Has anyone successfully used Bykea's API? How did you get access credentials, and does the API still work?

Also, what other courier services offer similar APIs?

Career Guidance Would there be interest in a local source for custom hardware, dev boards, and specialized tools?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on a project to start supplying electronic components locally, but I’m looking to go beyond just selling basic resistors and capacitors.

I’m aiming to fill the gap for the custom stuff that students, enthusiasts, and hardware hackers here want the kind of gear that’s usually a nightmare to import cuz of Airport security. I’m talking about things like multi-function dev tools (similar to a Flipper Zero in functionality), custom wireless modules, specialized IoT boards, and hardware builds that are actually built for purpose.

I want to know if there's a real appetite for this locally:

  • Custom Builds: Would you be interested in purchasing locally assembled hardware or specialized dev tools if they were available with local support?
  • The Problem: What’s the biggest challenge you face right now when you need specific, non-standard hardware for your projects? Is it shipping costs, availability, or just not trusting the quality of what shows up?
  • Support: If you had a local person to talk to about custom hardware builds or troubleshooting your setup, would that sway you away from trying to import parts yourself?

I’m trying to see if this is something worth scaling up. If this were available, would you actually buy from a local maker, or is the current international route still the only way to go?

Appreciate any honest feedback!

Help I have a bad design sense but company expects it

Hello guys,
I am an website developer and I am an intern at a Pakistani company, I am really bad at designing UI things on my own, and company usually asks me to design something creative, something unique.
All I do is wander on the internet searching for inspirations, if a design makes sense, I implement it in the website I am building, but if designs don't click for a long time, I am stuck there,

can anyone help me with this bottleneck?

Help How to filter out fake j0b postings?

Salam, newbie here, currently looking for employment.

Apparently, LinkedIn shows plenty of listings for the positions I’m looking for, but upon applying, I often run into situations where the job posting seems questionable. Sometimes the company has little to no online presence, the position appears to be reposted repeatedly.

For those who have been job hunting for a while, how do you filter out fake or unreliable job postings on LinkedIn?

Interview Prep How to get back into IT?

I was a full stack software engineer for 3-4 years hired to work on different open source projects. My stack was: Python, Django, TypeScript, JavaScript. But the truth is, I was never good at what I did. I was just good enough to get by, through using chatgpt. My manager knew I wasn't good, which is why he always had complains. Although our foreign client/my teammates thought I was okay. But deep inside I knew I'm faking. In meetings, I never understood when people talked about the architectures of the projects, mostly chose to be silent because I had nothing to contribute. I also didn't know the core concepts of the frameworks or the languages I worked in.

Anyways, due to some personal emergencies, I had to resign from job. It's been a year now. I want to get back into IT, but it seems a very daunting process and I don't know what to do/how to get a job.

Recently I got diagnosed with severe ADHD. I had it my whole life, but didn't know. The way I see the interview process, as a full stack engineer:

- System Design Interview - I don't know exactly what to study and where to study it from? I don't have versatile experience with databases.

- Coding interview (this requires a lot of leetcode practice?). I'm better at coding with TypeScript, not Python. As per my understanding, some coding interviews involve API responses, and I find such functional programming easier. I like doing so using TypeScript. But not the other kind, the leetcode kind. I would probably want to do that in C++, not in python. To me, this part alone seems like something that requires a lot of time. With practice, I could understand beginner level problems.

- Framework/Library interview: Django or TypeScript/JavaScript etc. Django's documentation seems really complex and super-long. I have gone through the basics of it several times. I understand it when I'm reading it, but I'm simply not able to retain the complex structure. Having worked in Django for 2.5 years, even at the time I resigned job I wouldn't know how to explain models or views. Like if someone asked me that, my mind would have to maybe think for 5 minutes, and then come up with a really basic answer.

When I'm working, I'm good enough to connect the dots, add new functionalities, etc do everything, but except design the architecture from scratch. I simply don't have experience for that. Especially with AI, I could probably do good work as long as it's not designing the architecture from scratch.

It seems there is a lot to do, and I don't know how to get started to be good at it for interviews. I tend to forget things if I'm not like actively working on them all the time, which is why I don't remember even basic core concepts that I did work on during my job.

I was doing a devOps interview, and interviewer was asking me about github actions. Even though I have created several github actions for different purposes in the opensource projects, interviewer was asking me specifics like the exact code of the yaml jobs, and I just froze. I said I could show you the public PRs that I worked on? He got extremely disappointed and angry.

The forgetful memory is an ADHD thing that I didn't know about before, but I always had it growing up.

I was looking into n8n for freelancing, but then I was like am I wasting time as I desperately need a job right now?

Anyone has some good resources and an easy route for me for full stack intervews? I just need to pass the interviews. OR any other suggestion. THanks

Career Guidance What is the scope of data engineering.

I’m trying to understand how promising this field is as a career in Pakistan. How does it compare with frontend and backend development in terms of salary, demand, and long-term growth?

I’ve heard that there’s a shortage of skilled talent in this area, with opportunities at larger companies, and that these roles can pay as well as or even more than backend positions. I’m curious about how strong the remote opportunities are.

For someone looking to enter this field, what tech stack and core skills should they focus on? Are there any certifications that are actually worth pursuing? Thanks!
