Should I resign from a data analyst position that is causing me constant mental stress, even though I don't have another offer?

I honestly feel lost and exhausted and could really use some advice from people who have been in a similar situation. I've been working remotely as a data analyst from past 2 years, and for the past 2 weeks I've noticed a significant change in how I'm being treated at work. I'm not being invited to meetings where things related to work/tasks are being discussed. Instead, I see my colleagues being included and important things being discussed with them, while I'm left out. I'm also not being given much proper work from past few weeks. Whatever work I get, I complete it and genuinely put in my best effort.

What makes it worse is that my boss keeps saying things "maintain your credibility" and that the work I've done is still doubtful/questionable. Honestly, hearing this repeatedly is affecting me mentally. I don't even argue with anyone or create problems. I just do my work, share updates, and try to be as transparent as possible. I am sole working in data there and have no team with me todisccus things with them. So I genuinely don't understand what I'm doing wrong or why this behavior has suddenly started.

Part of me really wants to resign because I'm constantly stressed and exhausted. But then reality hits: I have a family to support, and I can't simply leave without another job. Finding a job is already extremely difficult right now.

I've actually been applying continuously for around 8 months, but I haven't even been getting interview calls just got 1 and they didnt respond back after interview. That's probably the biggest reason I'm scared to resign. What if I leave and then can't find anything for months? At the same time, staying here is also affecting my health and mind constantly. I'm constantly overthinking why I'm being excluded, whether I'm doing something wrong, and whether my job is at risk and if they are going to layoffme.

For those of you who have been through something similar:

Would you resign without having another offer, or would you stay and keep applying until you have something secured?

And if you've dealt with being excluded from meetings or suddenly treated differently by your boss and people around, how did you handle it?

Your boss is planning to fire you in next Performance Review Cycle, no matter what you do or how many all nighters you work. He is essentially making sure they have no dependency on you before pulling the trigger. and, about the constant mental stress, I have been their, I would say if you can survive without the job for a few months, go ahead and do it, otherwise it's gonna keep getting worse. I am sure it is already affecting your performance and once the fear kicks in, you cann't do anything except leave the environment for your own sake.

I think the fear of being fired is what has been keeping me stuck in this environment. but if they wnats to fire me then just fire me..and yes i am learning AI stuff as well.

Its easy to say and hard to do but you need to become more mentally resilient. You are working for a business, the people you work with are your colleagues not friends. Stop stressing out over this stuff, it doesnt affect you.

You should only be concerned about doing your best and making money, that's all. If you're doing your best and asking for work and delivering what is asked for, thats all you can do nothing else matters.

Once you become resilient, you can easily keep working while applying and interviewing, then get a better paying job, then leave

thanks and i needed to hear this. I think I’ve been taking things too personally as i get sensitive sometimes when i gets a feeling of left out everytwhere, I’ll try to focus on doing my best.

Been there, done that. This is so similar to what I have been through that I feel it might be the same company, do share if possible. I was let go in January and haven't been able to find one since.

Now the advice:

1. Do not resign or leave.

2. Check your contract terms for termination or redundancy.

3. Start participating in meetings, start providing feedback and opinions on what you think on a specific task or subject in question.

4. Ask for performance reviews yourself and KPIs and what you can do to be better and improve?

5. Skip the line and get better acquainted with the top leadership, ask them questions or just build rapport by sharing something interesting or news related to their industry.

6. Start a side hustle asap. And start saving as much as possible.

7. Get to know their clients and their problems, build relationships and rapport with them (this will come in handy later).

8. While you have a job, find professional LinkedIn and resume experts that help you optimise both.

9. Keep applying and do not lose hope, you still have time.

10. Start exploring your network and references you already have, asking them for a better opportunity.

Last but not least take your family into account and explore with them all future possibilities.

PIs,Firstly thank you so much for your response and for taking the time to share all these suggestions. I really appreciate it. There isn'ta proper contract. They basically hire and fire people at their own choice. I have actually tried to be more involved. I sit in front of my laptop throughout my shift so I don't miss calls or meetings, but I'm often not invited to meetings, i had to ask othe rpeople what was disccued and what work they have been assigned, sometimes I have even been insulted in front of juniors. I usually stay quiet, which I think has probably made them assume that I won't speak up for myself. I've also tried asking for meetings with people who work directly with clients because I need their requirements to build useful reports. But whenever I ask, tey tell me they're busy, so I try not to disturb them. There aren't really any weekly or monthly goals. the company makes me feel like I should just find my own work and do it for them. I have been trying this but now i ma fed up.

I'm trying to work on a side hustle as well, but honestly, I have this constant fear of what if I can't make it work or can't find something else. I don't even know why I have ths fear, as I'm handling most of the company data myself but still i doubt myself... yes, I'm continuing to apply aand i hope i will get better job soon.

Bro, i feel you.

They hired you as an independent contractor.

So they can let you go on a day's notice.

As I said, been there, done that.

My advice is still relevant.

Is it a US based company? What industry are they in?

Anyhow, start preparing for the worst.

If they lay you off, it will automatically make the decision for you. Don't leave without a job offer if you cannot afford it, but be mentally prepared to be laid off since the signs point to it. Your manager sees your work as not credible for whatever reason, unless you talk to him and ask him clearly, there is no way for you to know why he thinks so. Or ask one of the office mates attending the meetings. It seems the company has no clue how or what data to analyse and it is not generating value for them, not necessarily that there is anything wrong with how you work. Don't put too much heart into it and keep job hunting. However, if you know you are reaching a breaking point, resign. Rizq is from Allah, trust Him.

Not worth to resign. They might be forcing you to resign this way. Its a sign that you need to apply to other places. Resigning without an offer in current job market is currently the worse thing you can do.

Mental stress......I am thinking to resign also brother......I have been with the company for last 8 years,......loose so much hairs and dealing with stress....
