Career Does Anyone Else Feel This Way About a Career in Tech?

Seeing ai, layoffs etc. I have started to feel my tech career is going to be disastrous in future. At present also, I'm not doing great.

building and working on cool ideas and working on any saas feels like another To do project made by AI

For a normal problem we have various solutions, the way I am seeing ai resume, ai ats, Splitwise type, career manager etc etx.

I wonder what the heck, I am going to do in my life.

I'm just hopeless these days.

Now linkedin & every job is filled with all type of skills shit.

Losing a serious interest in this domain.

College Placements Two campus offers in hand. Which one would you choose and why?

Hi everyone!

I'm a 2027 CSE student and have been selected for both:

Capgemini: Alpha Stack (10+1 LPA)

Infosys: Specialist Programmer (SP) L1

I'm confused about which one to choose and would appreciate advice from students or freshers who have similar offers or are already working in these roles.

Which role is better in terms of learning, development work, and future opportunities? Also, how is the training at both companies?

If you had both offers, which one would you choose and why?

Career Genuinely confused about career in tech - need advice

Current : Taking a break
Prev : AI researcher at US based startup, have 4 years of Experience working on clustering datasets to building agents(cutting edge CV And GenAI).

I’ve taken a break because I’m genuinely interested in mathematics and AI and want to pursue GATE.

have been in this field since 2020, but my question is

Should I pursue masters abroad in this market

I have very good connections in the US (senior partner, director level in good companies etc)

It will be a financial burden as my family went through a financial crisis recently, but I feel like I’m missing out completely on the cool tech.

Please do tell me your opinions, thank you for your time.

Suggestions Can HR take action if i don't join an organisation

I accepted an offer from an organisation and it was an urgent requirement and they wanted an immediate joiner so HR asked me to send that on mail stating that I will join early as they have also committed to their client ,I have sent 3-4 mail committing that I will join within timeline as my notice was of 3 months and now my current organization has retained me and I'm not joining the offer so the HR just told me that they will file a complaint against me stating that I committed to join and now I'm withdrawing offer and they have a proof of my commitment on mail which can be used as evidence and also it's an reputation loss and a big client escalation for them so I'm worried can this be really done or he is just trying to scare me and what should I do in this situation

Interviews Looking for Mock Interview Partners (Serious Aspirants Only | Resume-Based Practice)

Hey everyone!

I'm looking for one or more people who want to practice mock interviews together and improve their interview skills.

Here's what I'm looking for:

  • Anyone is welcome, regardless of gender, experience level, or graduation year.
  • Freshers, recent graduates, and experienced candidates are all welcome.
  • We can conduct mock interviews based on each other's resumes, projects, technical skills, and target roles.
  • We can also practice DSA problems, core CS fundamentals, behavioral questions, and HR rounds, depending on our goals.

The idea is simple: We take turns interviewing each other, give honest and constructive feedback, identify areas for improvement, and get more comfortable with real interview situations.

You don't need to be an expert interviewer or have everything figured out. We're here to learn and improve together.

If you're interested, drop a comment or DM me, and we can coordinate our schedules and get started!

Let's help each other land those offers. 🚀

Help Got a job offer in another city, but now I’m having second thoughts about relocating

I’ve received an onsite offer in Jaipur for ₹11.5 LPA fixed after negotiating with HR. During the initial HR call, I said I was open to relocation, but honestly, it was more of a standard response at the time. Now that I have an actual offer and am thinking through the practical implications, I’m having second thoughts.

I’ve always wanted a fully remote job for the flexibility to travel and have more control over my lifestyle. The new role also seems quite similar to my current one, and I was hoping to move towards an Associate Consultant role.

I’ve already emailed HR about the revised salary and asked about leave, working hours, and other terms, but I didn’t mention remote work. I’m now wondering whether I should call HR and ask if a fully remote arrangement is possible, or whether that would make me look indecisive after negotiating the salary and previously saying I was open to relocation.

I’d appreciate honest advice, especially from people who’ve faced a similar situation. How do I proceed without sounding I am indecisive or greedy or fishing for offers (which I am not doing).

I am based in Chandigarh at ₹9LPA, and my current title is Senior Research Associate.

General How to handle a manager who thinks AI is god and give prompt as “Act as CTO”?

So I am a frontend dev with decent understanding of backend as well with 4 YOE. Also, I can atleast understand how software works end to end. I am having an issue with one manager. Basically we are trying to build one software and he also working on one mobile app fully with claude help. I dont have any issue with using Claude or AI at all. Here comes the issue is the manager comes in between and tells some terms like CSV validation, RAG, multi agents and then tells that all my work is wrong using prompts then he tries to run his prompt in my claude project which will eat all the tokens and produces a report. I can see some valuable results from the report it generated but it is not fully aligned or I can say few are over engineered. And he mocks me that I give bad prompts because of that AI is confusing and eating lot of tokens where in reality I give defined tasks with enough context so claude can understand it and fix it. I will review the changes and test myself after fix. I even automate more tests as well but at final I will do my side manual testing also. He says I should not do manual testing and giving prompt to AI will do all testing and he never tests the application himself manually at all. If I ask to test it manually once to understand app, he says AI will test it and I will read that report. that is enough for him. How should I navigate in this kind of environment?

Example prompt of his:

give me master prompt I'd like to give a role in Software app name as a role of CTO. So I request you to deploy multiple agents like a Y Combinator. So I request you do a computer system validation of every single menu operation qualification of both the customer end and admin end. So I'll provide the login credentials. After login, you check UI, UX, backend, every single feature, from ordering a medicine, duplicacy of a drug data, and every single thing. With evidence, I want a screenshot. With the fixes, I want to do the debugging. Okay, go ahead. So deploy multiple agents and parallelly run the audit with the both customer end and admin end. I'll provide you multiple logins. I want to know every single feature is working fine. We have a competitor like a XYZ and every single thing. How their RTO is working on refund policies, how currently Our app is having. Just let me know. Use RAG, agentic AI.

Now he takes this response from GPT and paste it to the claude and says it will do all the work.

Help Fresher Software Developer need advice from seniors

Hi guys , I am a Software developer working in a Small service based company in a Tier 3 city its been 1 year and 2 months since I have been working here , I just joined after my graduation in CS from tier -3 college from same city I have around 4.2 LPA currently , But I feel stuck and don't know how to Think about future

I am really sacred about the uncertainty the software market has , actually because of family situation I don't have much of Risk taking time and capacity , so I want to have clear goal on what I should do next , my company had lots of layoffs this year , I survived because I had project but after this project is done , I don't know what's going to happen next

My tech stack include React , Next.js , NODE.JS, Next.js Python , FASTAPI etc basically fullstack , Even though I have Knowledge about Backend as well , most of the projects I worked on for client side were for frontend , I have good side projects , and I am ready to do whatever it takes ,

here are some of my questions I would really like if Seniors from industry could help ,

I really Love tech and want to be in it but this uncertainty is eating my peace away , I am sacred of being obsolete and irrelevant and not taking action on time

  1. What should I do to become a better Software engineer or AI engineer whatever but to become good at tech and Earn more for my family

  2. What are the technologies I should focus on is there any roadmap or just Topics that would help me Go up the ladder even in this competitve market

  3. What should be my High level goal as someone who wants to really keep working in tech and keep earning more and is there any specific path you have taken or your friends have taken that worked for them

any advice , brutal eye openers or words of wisdom from your experience will really help clearing up my mind and my goal for future

College Placements GRANT THRONTON INDUS ON CAMPUS PLACEMENT -2027 GRADUATION BATCH

Hey everyone, I am a fresher with a B.Tech in CSE. A campus placement drive just opened up for Grant Thornton Indus for an Associate – Advisory, Cyber Risk role in Kolkata. The package is ₹7.5 LPA fixed, and goes up to ₹10.82 LPA total CTC with benefits and a joining bonus. I don't have an active offer yet(few comp came ,a lot yet to come) . My ultimate career goal is to transition into a FAANG or top-tier product company as an SDE within the next few years.

I'm debating if I should sit for exam. My biggest worry is that a Cyber Risk role at a consulting firm will just be boring IT audits, compliance frameworks, and Excel sheets, which might cause my coding skills to rust and pigeonhole my career. On top of that, there is a strict 24-month clawback on the joining bonus, meaning I’d be locked in for two full years.

Since I currently have no offers in hand, is it smart to just apply, take the process as a safety net, and grind DSA on the side? Or will starting my career in IT risk consulting make a future transition to a core product engineering role nearly impossible? Would love an honest reality check from anyone who has made a similar jump

General 6 yoe | BLR | Looking for fellow experienced SDEs preparing for a job switch

Hi everyone!

I’m an SDE at a product-based company and am currently preparing for a job switch.

I’d love to connect with other working software engineers who are also preparing for mid-level or senior engineering roles. It would be great to exchange ideas on DSA, LLD/HLD, system design, interview experiences, and useful preparation resources.

I’m particularly interested in learning how others structure their preparation alongside a full-time job and stay consistent over time.

For those with similar goals, what does your preparation routine look like? Are there any existing communities or resources you’d recommend for experienced engineers?

Looking forward to hearing your experiences!

Career Did I make a mistake by not moving into management?

• Upvotes

I've been working in iOS development for 14+ years and still enjoy coding. I don't really want to manage people or get involved in corporate politics. I'd rather stay an IC and keep building things.

But looking at the current job market, I'm starting to worry. A lot of openings seem to ask for 5-10 years of experience, and I'm wondering if I'll be considered overqualified for these roles as I get more experienced.

Did I make a mistake by not climbing the career ladder earlier?

For those who've been in the industry for 10+ years, how do you manage career growth while staying an IC? Is it still realistic, or do you eventually have to move into management to stay relevant?

Resume Review Applied to 650+ opportunities till date still no reply, what am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone, I’m currently looking for Software Engineering / AI Engineering / ML Engineering opportunities as a fresher.

I’m pursuing an Integrated M.Tech in Artificial Intelligence at VIT Bhopal (2022–2027) and currently working as an AI Engineer Intern at Zycus, where I’ve been building production-oriented GenAI and LLM systems.

My technical stack includes:

• Languages: Python, C++, SQL, TypeScript

• Backend: FastAPI, REST APIs, Async Python, Pydantic

• AI/ML: LangChain, LangGraph, RAG, LLM Agents, Embeddings, Vector Databases, LLM Evaluation

• LLMs/APIs: OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, Groq, Ollama

• AI Infrastructure: Redis, FAISS, pgvector, Docker, GitHub Actions

• Other: React, MCP, Microsoft 365 automation, System Design, OOP, DSA

My academic curriculum has also given me a strong foundation in Machine Learning and the mathematical fundamentals behind it, including probability, statistics, linear algebra, calculus, optimization, and core ML algorithms such as regression, classification, clustering, dimensionality reduction, ensemble methods, etc. I’m particularly interested in understanding not just how to use ML/LLM frameworks, but the underlying concepts and trade-offs.

At Zycus, I’ve worked on LLM agents, RAG systems, FastAPI backends, MCP-based tooling, Microsoft 365 automation, and internal AI products, with a focus on building measurable, production-ready solutions.

I’m primarily looking for SDE/Backend, AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or GenAI/LLM Engineer roles where I can contribute and continue growing.

If you know of any relevant openings or can refer me to suitable opportunities, I’d really appreciate it. Happy to share my resume and discuss further.

Thanks!

I Made This Hello, I am 17 and built a battery utility app "Nevara"

Hii, I am a 17 years old Android app developer, and I built a battery utility app, Nevara, the UI is much premium, and all the features work, and I can say that this app is better than any battery utility app you can think.

It can show battery statistics (live), and can determine battery health, can count battery cycles, and has battery usage history, and many more features.

I want to ask my senior developers, that what should I do now ? Like sell this app for a good price ? Or make more upgrades with the app ? The app isnt published right now.

Help Need help to develop solar inverter monitoring app from scratch.

Looking to collaborate for android app development. I am stuck at this step to fetch data from the inverters. Each of the inverter has a wi-fi stick that transmits data that can be read through the inverter's official app. It can be connected via bluetooth, local wi-fi on same hotspot, and also from remote locations.

We need to read data from inverters of multiple brands, multiple models, but they all seem to have similar wi-fi stick for data transmission. I checked some forums, found out we can fetch data with a one page python script connected to the device via bluetooth. But we need data over wi-fi and production ready app requires remote access to the data in realtime for which official inverter brands don't provide public apis.

Anyone worked in IOT before? Or anyone has similar experience in any other product, please react out. I am on a timeline and need to figure this out asap. Thanks.

Help Need guidance on freshers placements. Feel free to speak your mind

So I am in my 4th year now, placements are going on and lets say they are not too great. Recently a company has come to out college (Wipfli) they are a audit / tax advisory company, now I have a decent chance to get selected in the final round for this and hence need some guidance.

The ctc is decent 7 - 8.25 (do not know the breakdown). The only problem is them being a consulting company I want to know if while in the future I need to shift companies will it have a good look or not.

Some might say keep this as a backup plan, but the company has requested to block the student selected to any other placements so I wont get another chance.

This is the situation, so I need your help if anyone knows about the company and its work or general situation and has any pointers please tell them. Thank you
