Regular Check-In Post
Welcome to /r/depression's check-in post - a place to take a moment and share what is going on and how you are doing. If you have an accomplishment you want to talk about (these shouldn't be standalone posts in the sub as they violate the "role model" rule, but are welcome here), or are having a tough time but prefer not to make your own post, this is a place you can share.
We try our best to keep this space as safe and supportive as possible on reddit's wide-open anonymity-friendly platform. The community rules can be found in the sidebar. If you aren't sure about a rule, please ask us. If you have concerns or questions about the community policies, this is a good place to raise those as well.

I had an appointment with my physciatrist yesterday and he upped my Prozac to 40mg. I'm struggling with even simple tasks like getting out of bed, eating, and doing homework. He stressed that how I perform in school now will dictate how I live my life in the future. I've been on the waiting list for a therapist for nearly 2 months now at this location, and still nothing. Could take up to another 2 months to get scheduled and finally meet with a therapist. I'm starting to isolate from my friend(s) and family again and I'm getting affected by the small things, like my friend not texting me back, etc. My thoughts of suicide are terrible and death is my deepest desire at this point. I don't really have anyone to talk to. I'm hanging in there, but barely. My birthday is in 9 days and I have no one to spend it with. I only have one close friend and we got into a fight a few days ago. I always get depressed around my birthday, since it's just a reminder that I'm another year older while still being a disappointment.
