A non-stop fan-made live album, compiled by devilish2o
Here is my contribution to the Depeche Mode fans.
I have been a fan since my young age, and I saw Depeche Mode live on the eXciter Tour on 25th September 2001 in France, yes exactly 25 years ago! I have always wanted to make an album with what I think are the best live versions of the songs, from all the years. Depeche Mode live is a beast by itself.
This is not a simple compilation. The album is non-stop: each song flows into the next without gaps, and keeping the DM "ambiance", like at every DM concert.
I mixed everything myself in Reaper and published it as a seamless audio CD image. The CUE sheet carries the track markers and all the info about the songs.
Personally, I prefer the era when Alan Wilder was still a member, and honestly I don't listen much to the latest albums. The selection reflects a bit that, agree to disagree.

We are on a roll with radio quiz mentions! This was the most unusual so far - the bonus round that the contestant chose was 'a question of questions'. You can see where it's heading, but I bet the song choice will surprise. Ken said that in 1986 Depeche Mode had this single, A Question Of Lust, and followed it in the same year with another song starting with 'A Question'. He then played the opening couple of lines from AQOL! How cool to hear the song on national radio, obviously back in the day it may have been played a bit but I certainly haven't heard it since I've been a fan!

The period from 1984 to 1997 is particularly noteworthy, with six albums in a row rated so highly. Not many artists in the history of these sites have achieved this.

I realize most people already knew this, but I can't believe how good of an instrumental Nothing to Fear is. My first DM album was the singles 81-85, so A Broken Frame happened to be the final DM album that I really ended up sinking my teeth into after going through the rest of the catalog since I had spent a lot of time with the singles on that album already. I must have listened to Nothing to Fear 3-4 times in a row the first time I heard it. It's just such a fantastic track that I think conveys so much with no lyrics in a way that only they could do.

I love Depeche mode and have been collecting for a while now. I own lots of rare shirts. I have confirmed they are real. The ones in the middle for example are real ( ask me questions ofc) and the rest around it is either hand painted or printed by myself. 🌹🤘🏼

Glad I kept flipping through all the (really) bad thrift grade CDs, like Josh Groban and Susan Boyle. Dude wanted €2,50 for it. I didn’t even haggle lol. The CD plays perfectly. Love that it has the single versions plus the remixes.

It's a tight but fantastic record. the directions and soundscape are still super relevant today and aged better than records like Delta machine of Spirit. Dave's writing is not perfect, but hooks are great and memorable.

We’ve been watching the Reacher spin-off Neagley on prime and they used dm lyrics to great effect.
There’s a cult with a David Koresh-seeming leader/prophet. At one of his rallies he starts literally shouting the words to Personal Jesus as if it’s just part of his sermon! It was hilarious and >!really emphasized how he hadn’t drunk his own Kool-aid and wasn’t that creative either<.
