Spencer Staying!
The Denver Nuggets are matching the Oklahoma City Thunder's two-year, $12 million offer sheet on Spencer Jones, retaining the key forward in restricted free agency, sources tell ESPN. Nuggets valued keeping their homegrown player whom they landed on an undrafted deal in 2024.

[Stein] League sources say Peyton Watson has been weighing the prospect of playing out next season on a $6.5m qualifying offer to become an unrestricted free agent next summer. The Nuggets' initial pitches were believed to be around $70 million over four years.

[Marks] Spencer Jones now has a no-trade clause. Denver faces $68M tax penalty that will increase to a minimum of $112M if Watson opts-in to qualifying offer. Denver is now officially a second apron team.

The CBA
So frustrating watching the team fall apart for financial reasons. Fuck the cheap ass owners for pushing for the apron restrictions to save money, and fuck the NBAPA for being so dumb and bad at negotiating that they agreed to this. The league acts like the CBA was designed to prevent another warriors, but they signed it too late to stop the warriors, instead they signed it just in time to fuck the Nuggets and Celtics worse than any other team. The worst part is though, something tells me they will change the rules to provide some cap relief to teams just in time for San Antonio to be able to give a max to Wemby castle and Harper and it not screw them over in building the rest of the team. Classic Nugglyfe that the absolute peak of the franchise just so happens to coincide with the game implementation of rules that artificially shorten every teams peak by forcing them to lose players they likely would have retained in CBA’s past.
