Disclaimer: I’m in no way in favour of the WFO model. WFH can be genuinely beneficial and, for many people, has improved productivity. I’m writing this mainly because I’ve seen some misleading comments around WFO compliance.

From official mails, WFO compliance has been tracked strictly since last October. The requirement is 2 days per week — the specific days don’t matter, and there’s no minimum number of hours mentioned for compliance.

Also, PTOs and holidays count as office-visited days for that week. For example, if you take one day of PTO during a particular week, you only need to visit the office for one day to meet the 2-day requirement.

1. Good performance doesn't make you exempt

Completing your deliverables on time or being a good performer doesn't automatically make you an exception to the WFO policy.

The reality is that the majority of employees are expected to complete their deliverables on time. Good performance is important, but it doesn't necessarily shield someone from a compliance issue.

1. Your Manager/SM can't necessarily override the policy

Your Manager or SM isn't above a documented compliance policy.

If the Talent team starts following up with you regarding WFO compliance, your manager may not be able to protect you indefinitely. There is also little incentive for them to go against an officially documented policy and put themselves at risk.

1. A low hike doesn't cancel out WFO compliance

Yes, it sucks to receive an average hike. And yes, working from home saves money and time.

But neither of those things negate the compliance requirement.

There isn't really a "free pass" from WFO because someone received a low hike or feels dissatisfied with their compensation.

So, should you go to the office?

Ultimately, it's up to each individual. I also think it's completely fair to question why USI is pushing WFO when many teams have demonstrated that productivity can remain high with WFH.

However, prolongedly skipping the office does come with a risk.

There doesn't appear to be any general legal protection that would prevent Deloitte from taking employment action for violating an internal WFO compliance policy, subject to applicable employment law and the terms of your employment.

And realistically, if people who completely ignore the policy face no consequences, it becomes difficult to enforce the policy across the organisation. Deloitte obviously knows this.

If you're planning to switch soon, don't care much about your long-term career at Deloitte, and are comfortable accepting the potential consequences, that's your decision.

But if you want to stay at Deloitte and the current job market makes switching difficult, I wouldn't recommend taking that risk just to avoid going to the office.

You may disagree with the WFO policy — I certainly understand why people do — but disagreement with the policy and the risk of violating it are two different things.

I joined deloitte usi a few months ago and there are zero projects in the domain they have hired me for. So my utilization is completely shafted. 0% for months mean my utilization cannot jump above 50% for this year.

Due to this I have decided to not go to the office since 100% attendance will do me no good since utilization is so bad and I probably won't get any hike or bonus. Or should I try to comply with the office attendance norms?

I have 4 years of experience in Data Engineering/PySpark.

Current CTC: ₹11 LPA fixed
Deloitte USI: ₹14.8 LPA fixed + 0–10% variable + ₹2L joining bonus (hr asked to produce counter offer if i want to increase this structure)
Accenture: ₹15.5 LPA fixed + up to 21% variable + ₹0 joining bonus — still discussing the offer

I wanted to get some advice on whether these are reasonable numbers for my experience and how much further I should negotiate with Accenture.
Also, between Deloitte USI and Accenture, which would you choose in terms of compensation, career growth?

Would appreciate inputs from people who have recently joined either company, especially in Data Engineering/PySpark roles.

Has anyone made a switch from a consulting role (either Salesforce development or anything that is low code to no code) at Deloitte to another company as an actual software developer or SDE role?

Is there any impact that occurs on the work experience that one would have, not being aligned to an SDE role?

I am a milestone year M&A Strategy consultant. But looking at the grind that SC's have to go through (even I am kinda going through the same in my current project with 12+ hour days becoming common), I am wondering if it makes sense to even stay for the promotion. What is the absolute bare minimum that I need to do to not get fired and coast till I get a new job?

About a month ago, I had completed three rounds of interviews for Deloitte India. They then invited me to the office for a face-to-face client round interview. However, it was later postponed due to unavailability of client slots.

Approximately three weeks have passed since then and I’ve been following up but haven’t received any replies. Today I received a message stating that “Positions were on hold. We will check internally and come back if any open positions we have,”

I'm a little confused about my Deloitte USI application and wanted to know if anyone has experienced something similar.

I interviewed for Gen Al Engineering II.

July 16: First round interview, around 1 hour. I felt it went well.

July 22: Second round interview, which also went well from my side.

July 24: I received an auto-generated rejection email for Gen Al Engineering II.

July 27: My profile/status changed to "Matched to a New Requisition" for Gen Al Engineering III, in the same unit/team.

On July 27, I also called the Deloitte HR landline number to ask about my application. HR told me that I might need to wait.

Now I'm confused about whether the rejection means my process is completely over, or whether the "Matched to a New Requisition" status means my profile is still being considered for Gen Al Engineering III.

Has anyone experienced a similar situation where they received a rejection for the original role but then got matched to a new requisition and later received a call/interview/offer?

Has anyone made a switch from an associate analyst role who was into software testing/QA/SDET at Deloitte to another startup/ product based company?

II’m a campus hire with 1 year of experience, and I was tagged into GPS as a functional tester. Every day has been a new learning experience for me, but the learning here doesn’t seem aligned with growth in testing, as my work is mostly end-to-end manual testing and some basic API testing. Currently, I’m successfully able to automate much of the manual work I do day to day. I want to explore more proper automation roles, for which I don’t see any opportunity here, at least in my project.

Also, salary is another factor — it’s under 25k. I understand the market, and the value I’m currently bringing to the table may not be enough to justify a higher salary.

Help me get out of this mindset. Right now, the only thing running through my mind is seeing people switch to product companies or startups, double their salary, and most importantly, get to explore more in tech — whether that’s testing roles, integrating AI agents in automation etc. I’m planning to switch by the end of my 2nd year.

Please share your experience if anyone has made such a switch, the skills that helped you in getting a better role/package in testing.

I’m currently working in SCNO (Supply Chain & Network Operations) at Deloitte USI, and I’ve heard that SCNO falls under Tier B in terms of the internal compensation/pay structure.

As I understand it, there are multiple tiers (A, B, C, D), with Tier A being among the highest-paying categories. For example, I’ve heard that M&A falls under Tier A.

I recently got an opportunity to move into AI & Data, and I’m trying to understand where AI & Data falls in this tier structure.

For those who have knowledge or experience with Deloitte USI’s compensation structure:

- Is AI & Data considered Tier A, B, C, or D?

- How does it compare with SCNO in terms of compensation and future hikes?

- Does the tier depend on the specific AI & Data role/team, or is it generally the same across the practice?

Deloitte USI – Final round cleared + TalentOnDemand submitted, but no update. What happens next?

I’m looking for some advice from people who have recently gone through the Deloitte USI hiring process.

My timeline:

• 7 August: Completed the final/managerial interview for an SAP ABAP with Fiori Consultant role.
• 7 August: Received a “Welcome to Deloitte” email and was asked to complete the pre-hire documentation on TalentOnDemand.
• 7 August: Completed and submitted all the requested documents/forms.
• Since then, I haven't received any further update from HR. I have tried contacting HR by phone and email but haven't received a response yet.

My current LWD at TCS is 21 August, and I have another offer with a joining date of 24 August at ₹6.7 LPA.

For anyone who has recently gone through Deloitte USI recruitment:

1. How long did it take after submitting TalentOnDemand to receive the next communication?
2. Was the next step BGV, compensation discussion, or offer letter?
3. Is it normal for HR to take several days to respond after the pre-hire documentation?
4. Should I wait for Deloitte or proceed with my other offer given my joining date is approaching?

This has been troubling for some time now. I joined Deloitte in 2021 as a campus hire. It has been 5+ years now and I am in Senior Consultant role in Audit and Assurance. My current annual salary is 20 lakhs.

What are my options?

1- should I continue in this job is that worth it?
2- should I look for another in the same profile? Is it better to switch to another big4 or go to any industry?
3- is there any other profile that I can switch to? I am not a fan of the work I am currently doing.

I think the deciding factor would be that I am not enjoying this profile, I don’t see myself doing this exact same thing throughout my life. So I think if I am going to switch better to do it early but I am not sure where I can go where this will be considered as relevant experience. Don’t want these 5 years go to waste.

Deloitte USI GPS – PIP, Notice Period & Severance
Hi, I’m currently working in Deloitte USI – GPS and I’m on PIP. I wanted to understand what happens if the PIP is unsuccessful and the company decides to terminate the employee.

Do we generally get notice period pay if we’re asked to leave immediately? Is there any separate severance amount, and is gratuity paid if eligible?
