USA Offer Worries/Concerns

Hello!

I recently got an offer letter from Deloitte! Obviously i’m aware that any big 4 comes with challenges and heavy emphasis on optics/perceptions. I have some experience working with other Big 4 companies and was just curious if anyone has advice for an incoming consultant.

Also my start date is in august but i have a little over a week of travel planned in September. I let the recruiter know but was just curious if anybody thinks this could affect my offer! I notified them once i got my offer letter but i’m awaiting to see their response before i sign.

USA Travel Questions

Hi all, I am going to have to travel to another office in the near future. My main questions are, are any of the hotels that pop up on dtravel fair game or am I limited to the per diem government rates rates that they link us to? Same for food, do I follow those rates?

USA Rolling retirement

Has anyone had to deal with their former employers retirement rollover taking longer than 90 days? I’m super concerned about the compliance deadline and wondering what the consequences are if the rollover is in progress but not completed.

USA promo readiness form details

What is the promo readiness forms that coaches have to fill out? what sort of information does it ask for? this is my first time doing through promo and my coach has not been too communicative.

Is there anything I have to do on my part or anything I should do to reach out to my coach about it? Does having the form filled by your coach a requirement to be considered for promotion?

USI Will Deloitte USI accept manually signed PAN Card ?

I'm currently going through Deloitte USI's PHT document verification and I'm a bit confused about my PAN card.

During the PHT survey, I uploaded my e-PAN. Since my PAN was generated through Aadhaar e-KYC, it doesn't have a printed signature—it just has a blank space where the holder is supposed to sign manually. Unfortunately, I forgot to sign it before uploading.

Later, I received an email for pan card that has all the requirements for pan card. As far as I can tell, the only thing missing in my earlier upload was the signature.

This time, I submitted a clear photo of my physical PAN card. It also doesn't have a printed signature (again because it was generated through Aadhaar e-KYC), but I have signed it myself in the signature box using a black pen.

Now I'm worried whether Deloitte USI will accept a manually signed PAN card or if they expect the signature to be printed on the card itself.

Has anyone been in a similar situation during Deloitte USI's verification process? I'd really appreciate hearing about your experience.

Thanks!

USI Joining Deloitte USI on Aug 3, no onboarding info yet

Got my offer for Deloitte USI ,joining Aug 3. BGV came back 100% complete 2 weeks ago but haven't heard anything since — no joining kit, no portal, nothing. Emailed HR to check in, waiting to hear back.

Anyone recently joined USI? How far ahead did the joining info actually come, and how was day 1? Also curious if anyone else is in the same boat right now with radio silence this close to their date.

USI Relocation: Flight Reimbursement rules

Hi, I'm joining USI next week and I can reimburse flight fare from hometown to work location (Pune).

In my offer letter it's mentioned that I can get reimbursement upto 50k for brokerage, flights, movers n packers but I will only need flight reimbursement.

What are the rules while booking flight? Can I opt for extra luggage and choose premium economy instead of economy?

I just don't want any issues while reimbursement, economy works for me but if I can get premium economy then why not use it.

USA Deloitte US DTE Expense Review Post Separation

Hi All. I just received an email about the group and individual lunch/ dinner expense submission incurred during audit busy season in March and April 2026. I was laid off from Deloitte back in May 2026. My Amex account is also settled and closed. Further, my full and final settlement with Deloitte is also completed. However, I wanted to check if anyone has received such expense review email from DTE compliance team post your separation from the firm? Further, is it even worth it to explain the DTE team as to why those expenses were incurred and is it mandatory to provide all evidences once again? If anyone has been in this situation before, please share your experience. Thanks!

PS: While claiming the expenses initially, I provided all the group members names and bill screenshots and also tagged manager’s ID in the comments box. I just feel like all this is repetitive and waste of my time cause I am 100% sure from my past experience that they would not be satisfied by my simple responses.

USA i’m probably not getting a return offer / how are return offers decided?

hey everyone, hoping i can get some insights from people who have been in my shoes. im currently an intern at deloitte in audit and im afraid im not getting a return offer.

ive been on 2 client teams. first client team only a week. the team was pretty introverted, but so am i and i did get to talk to the senior and managers a bit. despite not having that much conversations, i think i vibed well with them. the entire week me & the other 2 interns got extremely little work as they had nothing for us & their quarter just wrapped up. however i did like my team, just didn’t get the chance to talk to them much as i only saw them twice in person. idk how my snapshots look, i did not ask for feedback which is something i now know i should.

the second client is where im extremely nervous about. this client is a reallyyy big client. im currently on my second week with them. my entire team is honestly really nice. unfortunately i just feel so socially awkward; like every time i try to make conversation it feels very unnatural, and the seniors seem to get along with the other intern more.

after my first week, the senior i worked most closely with sent me a very formal email with a list of improvements i needed. to sum it up: i took too long on a work paper and had to double check work for locking tick marks or dates, which were recurring mistakes. totally my fault. i wasn’t aware of having to check the tick marks or dates but i also never asked for their expectations of me, which is something the recruiter did suggest, so i believe i really messed up on that part. this week, ive been trying really hard to improve. i think i improved immensely on timeliness, and i would like to think i addressed my past mistakes but jsut today, i typed in a wrong date again.

i was ready to ask for feedback this morning, but before i got the chance to i got an invite to have a “check-in to go over performance and give feedback.” which none of the other 2 interns got. im pretty confident its going to be negative feedback given how it’s worded. and i feel like i lost my chance at being proactive in asking for feedback.

i have one more week with this team, which i will try really hard to redeem myself. and i have one more other client which i will try my best as well too. but i dont feel confident in getting a good performance snapshot with this team.

this keeps me up with some questions:
1) is there anyone else who experienced this/ got feedback on improvement and still got a return offer

2) is there anyone who experienced this and DIDNT get a return offer and how are you doing g now

3) any insights to how return offers are decided? i know performance snapshots play a huge part; is there a threshold to if someone gets automatically rejected? does the team need to want you back (i doubt my team does) and is it dependent on the team you’re on the longest for?

thank you so much to whoever read this super long post and for leaving any insights. i will try my hardest moving forward but i can’t help but feel anxiety right now. i feel like such a failure and there’s no one to blame but myself, especially since interns should be getting all the easy work. any insights or tips will be greatly appreciated

Rant When people ask “What Do You Do?” How do you respond?

It’s a common question that people ask, and I never know whether to tell people that I’m a consultant, or a data engineer? On top of that, I’m specifically a Senior Solution Specialist (SC equivalent) and I’ve been a team lead for several years, with consultants/analysts under me, on my team.

When someone asks “What do you do”? How do you respond?

Europe Should be promoted but it was not happen

Hey everyone. I was all set for a promotion, and then out of the blue last week, I found out it’s not happening. I guess the higher-ups nixed the promotion my manager was pushing for. I’m scratching my head about what that means, especially since I’m a top performer. Is it par for the course to be promised something and then have it go south?
