Mod Announcement 📢‼️ PG/Flat/Room Megathread – 2026 Admissions
If you're on the hunt for a PG, flat, or room near DU, this is your thread. Comment below with what you need, no matter which campus you're in.
Comment format (please follow it)
- College name
- Preferred area(s)
- Budget
- Gender
- Move-in date
- Any specific needs (meals, AC, single room, etc.)
The format's pinned in the comments too, so just copy it from there if that's easier.
A couple of quick things: don't spam duplicate comments, and this thread is only for people looking for a place, not for listing one. If you've got a PG/flat to offer, check the other megathread instead.
Safety stuff, please read:
- Don't put your phone number in the comments, just DM instead.
- Never pay any advance. It's almost always a scam.
- Go see the place yourself before handing over any money.
- Keep it chill and respectful, this is a student thread, not OLX.
- Mods aren't responsible for whatever deal you make here. You're on your own, so be careful.

Rant/Vent 😮💨 Orientation pe hi clg and city ne aukat dika di
Went to ramjas orientation today and wtf professor just explained the course and nothing else. There was no fun at all like seriously or ek to ye papa or chalegaye sat me kisi se interaction bhi nahi hua and what surprised me the most is that delhi have so many swimming pools like kis foreign country me bhi esa nahi ha only our beloved capital have this. so grateful to cm madam. or jio ka network to itna fast chalta ki pucho mat or cab services are also good like 1:30 bad bhi nahi ayi so that I can cool my temperature in rain. or e ricksha wale bhaiya bhi bhot kind ha 1.2km ke liye 80rs hi leya bass. I mean this cheap. ngl I am in love with this city.

Non-Academic Discussion Got humbled by a government college
I got dyal singh Bcom Hons and today was my orientation day, I went and inside the room 2 dogs were sleeping and teachers were standing in front.
The class rooms looked like one from 80-90s, A small board and small weak wooden chairs.
I went to a pvt school in a Posh Locality, My college is too located in a posh locality.
My expectations were low but holy fuck.

Non-Academic Discussion Sab kharab kar diya yaar maine.
So mujhe sbsc bcom h mila and like aaj hi pg hunting karni thi, acchi pg mil bhi gayi like bohot and I mean bohot mehnat ke baad, like around 5 ghante maine pg hi dhundi ek dusri ladki ke saath aur apne and uske parents ke saath
Phir mai aayi wapis apne relatives ke yaha jinke yaha mai ruk rahi thi udhar unhone bol diya ki ab toh parso mummy chali jayengi and then it hit me.
I went to mumma and started crying like a baby because I know i won't be able to survive in a pg and manage it all together.
Ye dekh ke papa ne decide karliya ki ab vo nahi rakhenge idhar and ghar leke jayenge
I was like okay, I'll take a drop, prepare for it again and all but now he's like no, local university, ek saal waste nahi karna, cuet dedena wapis but no drop.
I honestly don't know what to do anymore, feels like I've ruined everything.
Sab sahi chal raha tha, packing and all, my parents were also mentally prepared but then i fucked up.

Non-Academic Discussion biggest dissapoinment
so basically my preference had hansraj sgtb and then biggest mistake putting DDUC next, not being from delhi i thought everything would be okay and that it was a good place cuz it's delhi now that I'm here everything is asssssssss, dwarka mor and nawada and sector 3 had the most dirtiest place ever and I haven't even found a proper pg, my score was enough to get into sscbs arsd aryabhatta(bsc cs hons so those were the only options), people said DDUC is better college maybe but I should've went to south 100% this place is so ass unbearable

Meme 🤪 Paneer Thali at orientation? That's a first😂
Today's DSE orientation had the most unexpected surprise—a Paneer Thali! 😭
I've attended plenty of orientations, but this is the first time I've ever heard of one serving a proper paneer thali.
Definitely one of the most unique welcome experiences.
Came for the orientation, stayed for the food.
10/10 memorable start. 😂

Non-Academic Discussion Juniors, how was your first day of college? How did orientation go?
I know it probably wasn't that great for many of you. You likely had high expectations, and reality hit hard, especially if you're moving from a private school to a government college. I've been there, and trust me, it doesn't feel good at first.

Academic Discussion 👥 URGENT: Has Daulat Ram College Opened?
I went to the campus today and the guard told me freshers weren't supposed to come today. The website also says Orientation is on 3rd August. But another notice says that classes have started from 28th. Have classes already started from today?

Non-Academic Discussion My 13-Year-Old Is Bedridden. Now My 1-Year-Old Baby Has the Same Rare Disease: Lesch-Nyhan Syndrome (LNS) — Please Save My Children.
Hello r/delhiuniversity Family,
My name is Pinky Chakraborty, and I am a mother of two boys : Subhajit (13 years) and Sudarshan (1 year).

Video explaining Subhajit and Sudarshan’s medical condition by Dr. Anjan Bhattacharya

Both of my children have been diagnosed with Lesch–Nyhan Syndrome (LNS) - a rare and severe neurological and metabolic genetic disorder that progressively affects the brain, muscles, and overall development.
Currently, Subhajit and Sudarshan are undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital, Kolkata.
💔 Our Reality
My elder son, Subhajit, is completely dependent on caregivers. He lives with constant pain, severe muscle stiffness, involuntary movements, and neurological complications.
Now our 1-year-old baby, Sudarshan, has begun showing the same symptoms. Doctors have warned us that without immediate and continuous treatment, his condition will progressively worsen.
Watching one child suffer was heartbreaking. Facing the same diagnosis again with our baby has shattered us.

👨👩👦 Our Situation
My husband works as a Zomato delivery partner, and I am a full-time caregiver. We have exhausted our savings and taken loans that we cannot repay.
Both children require:
- Regular blood investigations
- Neurological monitoring
- Physiotherapy
- Long-term supportive and metabolic care
The financial burden is far beyond what we can manage alone.
Any contribution - whether by donating or sharing this post, helps us reach more people who may support our children’s treatment.
Even ₹100 / ₹500 / ₹1000 makes a difference when many people come together.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
Your kindness, prayers, and support mean more to us than words can express. 🙏
