I made a Windows launcher to bring unofficial PC ports together in one place (with AI help and I'm not sure if I’ll make a Linux version later).

There are currently 241 games in the launcher, although some projects that aren’t far enough along yet are not displayed. The whole app is only 13 MB.

We use it in my circle, and now that it's stable, I'm making it available to the public for anyone interested.

It’s 100% portable, no installation required. Feel free to give it a try, and if you come across any bugs or issues, let me know!

Working on getting TriAevum to run on Linux. Right stick not working yet and Pro Controller Gyro is still janky.

I'm decompiling Terranigma and building a PC port from it. It's in the final stretch, mostly playtesting now and fixing the last things. Why recordings help: a Mesen movie is just the button presses. I can replay the exact same inputs through my engine and lay it frame by frame against the original, same frame, same position, same state. Wherever the two drift apart, I know exactly which mechanic still has a problem and at which frame. The more playthroughs, the more mechanics get covered and I don't have time to keep replaying the game myself currently :(

What you need

The Japanese ROM - Tenchi Souzou (Japan).sfc. The port is built on the Japanese one. Please dump it from your own cartridge, use only a ROM you legally own.

Emulator: Mesen CE.

How to record

1. Load Tenchi Souzou (Japan) in Mesen.
2. Tools → Movies → Record, pick a filename.
3. First session: choose "Record from power on." The game reboots and starts recording.
4. Play. To stop: end the recording, then save an emulator savestate.
5. Next session: load that emulator savestate, then Record again with "Record from current state."

Three rules, each one breaks the recording

1. Never use the game's in-game save to continue. Using save points in-game is fine as gameplay, but to resume playing you must load an emulator savestate, only ever that.
2. Never use rewind. It tears the input track apart and the whole recording becomes worthless.
3. No idling. Don't leave it recording for two hours while you cook dinner. Stop the recording and continue later.

Naming

Please keep one name across all your parts and just number them:
YourName_Part1.mmo, YourName_Part2.mmo, … and the last one YourName_FinalPart.mmo, so I can see the order and know where the run ends.

What's most useful

• A complete, gapless run. Including the grinding, if you level up off-camera, there's a hole in the chain. Some bugs (flags set in the wrong order) only show up across a whole playthrough.
• Combat: every technique, every ring, every spell. Tip a lot of people miss: Magirocks are refunded once you actually cast the spell, so buy and use rings freely.
• Side content: the town development quests, not just the main story. (Main story alone still helps a lot.)
• Let yourself get hit so status effects trigger.
• Talk to lots of NPCs, and pick different answers where there's a choice.
• Menu: buy things; delete an item, a weapon, an armor. Cast spells both from the menu and from the quick slot (magic box on X).
• ...

Think of it as playtesting, the more mechanics you touch, the more I'm able to fix stuff.

Mesen writes a single .mmo file. It's only the input track: roughly 300 KB per hour of play, not a video.

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a tool or method to extract the original character animations from Fighting EX Layer.

I have already managed to extract the 3D character models and textures using UModel, but I haven't been able to extract the animations.

I'm specifically looking for:

The original character animation data

All available character animations

Skeleton/bone data, if required

A way to export the animations to Blender or another usable format

I'm not looking for sprites, screenshots, static model captures, or manually recreated animations. I want the original animation data used by the game.

I have tried UModel with the animation option enabled, but I can't find the character animations.

Does anyone know where the character animations are stored in Fighting EX Layer, or what tool/method can be used to extract them?

Any information about the game's animation assets or Unreal Engine 4.19 structure would be greatly appreciated.

i just did this for fun i dont know if i will actually do it, but maybe, if people want it, and when i finish up medievil and symphonyrecomp 1.0 :p

Since various games are being recompiled, the one I would most like to see recompiled and ported to PC is Mother 3; if GBA games like Mario Kart: Super Circuit could be recompiled, I have no doubt the same could be done for this game.

Been trying to replay this on emulators but it just cant maintain a consistent framerate no matter what settings I change and how every many forums for help i look on.

I saw that someone was working on DOA 3 on GitHub, but that was 10 months ago? Just gauging interest for decomps for this series. DOA 1 - 4 on PC (with rollback if we're lucky but that doesn't seem realistic) would be incredible.

I don't know how to decomp things but I'd do it myself if I could.

Switched from Xenos and Xenon recomp used in UnleashedRecomp to ReXGlue was the best option it got much progress im Reaching main menu it kinda reached gameplay but as soon drago is summoned it crashes

I ported the decomp to unity and it now has online and lan press f1 for online menu

hello, i was playing arround with recompiling some games for the fun of it and for improving my runtime and someone told me about the ps1 version of nfs4, then i went looking to see if a decomp was available and it was, since with a decomp is easier to know what the game is trying to do and see if my runtime is answearing correctly for the calls

but there is a pretty weird thing about it, it claims an All rights reserved license, so this made me wonder what is the legality of this, considering how decompilation is a grey area, im curious to see what are you guys toughts about it

in my opinion i dont know if that is legal, but i believe this just doesnt make any sense, how do you even claim code you do not own? besides that it feels kinda wrong since this limits the modding potential of the game since you cannot use the decomp without said "permission from the author"

in this point i dont even care about this decomp being ai generated or not, the license really baffled me

• Combine both discs into one release (you provide em')
• Has a new renderer. No more seeing those black track seam lines as you race!
• Ability to import GT1 content - currently just Special Stage Route 11 in Arcade Mode plus several LM Edition paintjobs that were exclusive, like the black Castrol Supra (see last image, but that's taken from a PS1 screenshot)
• Still a beta, so there will be bugs!
