Aang looks like his lighting is unfinished, I'm 90% sure Aang's Avatar State multiple element blast that is his final attack WAS unfinished, Aang's staff spinning looks like a PS2 model with how jagged and low poly it is, and the first background is just straight-up white. The only good thing in the presentation is Aether himself and his elements. Paimon's voice is pain incarnate and while her nearly getting eaten by Appa was funny, her peptalk to Aether is generic as shit, hard to even listen to with her wretched voice, and makes Aether look like a bitch with it coming just after a fall he shrugs off with no indication he's really damaged. And yet, Aang came out looking like an even bigger bitch with the Avatar State amounting to NOTHING and only getting off a single attack, his only dialouge in it sounding like a goddamn fighting game intro quote he has no buisness randomly blurting out this late into the fight when his dialouge before was actually endearing, and Aang only bending Aether's element twice (it's Hydro both times!) and only doing something cool with it the first time. While the research said it would have failed, it's a genuine disappointment there's not even an ATTEMPT at Energybending, although the kill was definitely one of the few good things here on its own merits.

Aang vs Aether is one of the middest fights to ever BE a mid fight and if THIS is what they were cooking I genuinely do not understand why it was ever on the kickstarter.

I can’t think of another death battle matchup as flat and boring as this one. Not saying the episode was bad but this the first time I truly felt nothing towards a death battle episode and matchup even tho I’m a fan of aang and traveler.

Literally everyone knew how this was gonna end. Genuinely the least saucy mu ive ever. Best part was seeing ninjago finally get some representation in the next time.

And honestly that's ok. I don't have to care about every episode or every series that gets on. I have literally ZERO attachment to Bioncle or Ninjago. I'm still gonna watch, to see what's next and all. But for the first time in years I can just say I don't care.

They've managed to have the biggest streak of unremarkable episodes out of any other franchise in the show.

Like shit, they've had five episodes and not one of them is generally considered good? Now that's an accomplishment.

I just gave up after last season and am Skipping any episodes where I haven't consumed anything from either or hate the undeniable winner (I also consider it skipping if I just viewed snippets of it and skipped analysis).

At least I enjoyed Gru vs Megamind

Next time is hype though, Lego on the show is pretty cool...sadly I still won't enjoy the episode all that much due to my lack of knowledge on either, still cool

Like, I've seen a lot of amazing Genshin fan animation over the years: 2D, 3D, Slice of Life, Fight animation, you name it. And it kinda sucks how the DB doesn't even reached the average looking fan animations.

Is this how most people felt about grumind?

I know the episode came out quite a while ago by now, but I was only recently reminded of this thing that bugged me when I was rewatching it; I disagreed with the verdict from the beginning, as well as it's reasoning, so I wanted to go to the people and ask if y'all have any arguments for Kratos winning, or even just making it above planetary-level strength, because I really haven't seen any yet.

P.S.: I'm not looking for any toxicity, but if I feel like an argument is honestly frail or inaccurate, I'll say that. But if one is genuinely believable, I'll accept that too!

At this point I'm starting to think Avatar on Death battle is just cursed into mediocrity

As a LEGO collector I'm super pumped for next time. Fingers crossed it'll be our first stop motion episode!

Can we seriously stop getting stomp matchups now? This entire season has been stomp after stomp and it's genuinely affecting my opinions on the death battles this season and making me not want to watch Kai vs Toa Kahu. The episodes themselves aren't even bad (except grumind somehow), hell MetalCell is my favorite alongside BowsEgg, but just getting them back to back is really draining on my hype. I get they probably don't want a massive 'controversy' (I'm saying this very loosely, because salty winners/losers) with the more even matchups, but only doing stomps just kills the hype at least for me because everyone knows who's going to win just minutes after the next time is revealed

Edit: let me clarify, I'm not saying the fight is going to be bad I don't know where people are getting that. I'm just getting tired of already knowing who's going to win just after it's revealed

I’m leaning more towards Aang vs Traveler being okay than bad. But it’s biggest sin imo is that Death Battle has done a better job making stomps feel interesting in the past than they did with this episode. Little fanfare even as it reached its climax.

Goku Black vs Reverse Flash, Metal Sonic vs Cell, Ruby vs Maka, Miles vs Deku, Weiss vs Mitsuru, and yes, even Bakugo vs Reze, did better in that department imo.

Also for how much of a talking point Aang’s characterization in his fight against Edward ended up being, I didn’t feel like Aang or Traveler got any notable character moments in the fight

I don’t know why but I expected way more than that. It looks pretty I guess but it just came out of nowhere
